Abuela is a very interesting character with a compelling story arc which carries the message of the movie.
I understand why people don't like her because of every bad things she does in the movie, but I think it's one of the best antagonist Disney has done in the last few years.
But yeah, she's still not my favorite character despite that, because every character in this movie is just so great
Didn’t Abuela apologize at the end of the movie? I still dont understand why people still hate her after that scene where she apologizes to the family, especially Mirabel.

I COMPLETELY agree. It's understandable when disliking her as a person, but we need to realize that Abuela is amazingly written as a character and a great force that goes against the protagonist in a way that we usually don't get out of stories, and we should appreciate that.

I really like Mirabel because she was really brave and an absolute baddie! The scene where she and Abuela forgave each other and stuff, it just shows how much character development there is in this film.
For some reason i think Camilo's personality is great! He seems pretty cool and a lot of the side characters! They all are pretty cool and their designs are awesome!

Mirabel is my favorite character. Encanto is one of those rare movie where the main character(s) are my fav. The reason why she's my fav is because i relate to her. She's different from her family, and i'm also different. And i think she deserves better. I feel like she's underrated:3

The thing is she’s kinda like Monika from DDLC. People cannot forgive her for what she did (Monika to the girls, and Abuela to Mirabel), but when you hear their sides of the story, you can understand their pain and be more understanding, even though it’s hard to forgive them.

I see so many people who hate abuela just because of the fact that she was basically the antagonist, which i have never understood focusing on that instead of if the character was well written, and abuela is arguably one of the best written characters in the movie
I like Camilo Madrigal because he is a person who makes everyone laugh and who likes to take care of others!
I also identify with him because he always puts others before himself and he doesn't know who he is because he is always asked to be someone else!
He makes me smile and laugh!
So I like Camilo for that and not because I'm a "simp" or a "fan girl"!
The characters I like the most:
🥉 Isabella: She's beautiful and her "real form" revealed that she is a good person
🥈 Dolores: She's also beautiful and has such a potential to be a great character
🥇 Mirabel: I identify so much with her character. I'm usually exclused from society because I'm very honest (then people think I only diss people) and shy. I'm kinda of underrated, I guess
🥇 Bruno: I also identify with his character. He also became excluded from the society by being "too honest", but a good person
I actually really like Isabella and Luisa cause they both have character development and are directly influenced by Mirabel. Also my fav colours are Purple and Blue so-

Okay, my most to least favorite Encanto characters:
Antonio - freaking adorable, precious baby boy, triggers baby fever
Mirabel - I like her energy, okay? And she's the cutest Disney heroine (she's disqualified from being a princess due to Encanto having its own franchise).
Félix - canonically a storm chaser
Dolores - kin. We're both quiet and find ourselves privy to a lot of drama that we really wish we didn't have to hear about.
Bruno - basically Héctor Rivera if he hadn't been murdered by his best friend and then nearly sent to oblivion by his own wife.
Alma - she's not Imelda and not nearly enough people acknowledge that. Also, she's an INFP like me, so I kind of have to defend her on principle.
Luisa - precious
Freedom Isabela - much better than repressed Isabela.
Pepa - fun, love her "take that" design
Julieta - secretly the evil triplet
Agustín - couple theme naming with Julieta. Would 100% help one of his girls hide a body. Isabela thinks it's nice of him to offer, but she's got it taken care of.
Camilo - meh, he's fine, but I think he's a bit overrated.
