There are some stupid quests in runescape, but this one... this one is right up there.

11:20 If you are struggling with the rune puzzle you can click on the right side of the puzzle (The gears and mechanism) to give you extra tries or it can take away some. This is dependent on your thieving level but it is worth a shot. Its also helpful to take pictures on your phone and use that instead of writing them down.

Manipulating the objects on the right sight of the mechanism screen and taking pictures of each rune you reveal up to a max of 3 really, and I mean really helps. From the start just manipulate the mechanisms to get 15 extra tries, then just go through the entire thing revealing 3 at a time and then taking pictures, after you're done just click any random rune and scroll through your pictures to find where the other 2 are. :)

to those who are frustrated with the time: you can use other logs to give a little longer time, such as magic logs!! ALSO to give yourself more chances on the runes to the right of the unturned runes you'll find three things, one of which is gears right click and investigate them to up your chance of gaining chances. 7 additional chances per mechanism. there are the gears I think the pins and something else. Thank you for the guide @imsikovit ,couldnt do it without you!!!! psi- i also had the glitch when talking to the priest

got a quick hack for doing the rune puzzle for anyone who sucked at it like me and had to cheat a bit:
word document
insert 6x6 table
type them in as you go
once you've filled the table "control + F"
type the runes
match them up
Don't have to panic cos you've got plenty of time, and make sure you manipulate the locks for extra turns :)
that's so lucky i just searched for this on youtube and saw this uploaded 4 hours ago in the results feed. i did NOT want to use another persons guide.
This quest made me quit. I can't deal with this level of bullshit.
Not enough people appreciate retro game mechanics. Go MUD a bit, you'll get over it.
For the puzzle, I recommend using a 6x6 grid in excel and color/cross out as you do them. I managed to do it on my second try

while doing rune puzzle and get a few matches when u get low on moves hit the mechanisms on right to get more failed a good 30 times b4 figuring it out

I can honestly say, this is by far the worst quest I’ve ever done and not saying that the machine can be manipulated for extra moves doesn’t help. I was ONE move away from finishing the puzzle and I failed because I didn’t have enough moves. Made a 6x6 graph of it with graph paper and mapped it out 3 runes at a time. I made mistakes the first time so I had to redo it(was only three moves off that time) then I redid it and realized that I could manipulate the puzzle and got it easy. Took a long ass time to completely make each graph too. Sikovit, this is the first time you’ve made a mistake that I’ve seen in a quest guide so it’s all good but Oh my fucking god, this was a big one....
when stuck on the scarab part use This time, do not make him angry. Ask "By all the deities, what is going on here". Then choose "Sounds like the Devourer dragged you into heresy for her own ends.

For the puzzle what I done was opened up sticky notes and noted down the first letter of the rune and alt tabbed back and forth quickly with the runes i got and matched them up. Really sped it up and got it first try.

There are very few quests I hate and this is one of them. The quest is pure cancer. Some tips for people of the future. If you need golden artefacts from Pyramid Plunder don't forget to wear a ring of wealth. Depending on your thieving level skip all the way through to your second to highest floor, loot the golden box and coffin, move onto the next room and search urns for snakes then loot, loot the whole room and leave the mini game and start over until you have ten. The lower floors are pure shit, not worth your time, you rarely if ever (I didn't) get a gold artefact. As someone else in the comments has mentioned if you click the cog on the side of the rune puzzle it will give you extra tries, WARNING though, this doesn't always happen, I've lost go's, I just got lucky on the second to last try. As mentioned in the video if the dialogue doesn't work just scroll through them all, again I lucked out on my second try. Good luck with this cancer quest, also good luck to you if you're shit at maths.

Ok couple of pro tips for you guys if you need it. 1st - Just use heart teleports if you have them they are like 4 seconds slower at MOST. 2nd when you get to the rune matching puzzle just take a screenshot, paste it into paint and then mark all the runes you turn over on it. He mentions a time limit in this it must be pretty long because even doing this method I've never once had any time related issues.
I found to do the puzzle, draw a 6x6 box and write down the rune in that box with each one. Eventually you will complete it. Toggle the mechanism to get more tries.
Just finished all my Senntisten quests on alt and Sikovit pops in with another guide. Today must be my lucky day.

Wish you would have mentioned clicking the side of the mystery box to gain more uncovers. I wasted over an hour retracing steps and trying over and over again at the puzzle before luckily finding that out my own.
12:52 I've been there before, with "the elemental workshop 3" ive tried numerous times to reset the puzzle i even contacted jagex about the issue and that the end of the quest is glitched and now till this day I will never fully finish the elemental workshop series, you do an amazing job with your quest videos however theres always the one quest thats glitched and doesnt run properly

I got the rune puzzle third try, I took better notes in the chat box that time. Also, for the fight with the high priest, it seems like the Wiki page has some assistance there. You need to select dialogue that manipulates him into all 3 attack styles for the conversation to be complete.
I was stuck in a loop after doing the "I do not fear your beetle-brained blablabla" which makes him attack with magic, 3x. After looking at the Wiki page I picked the ranged and melee options (couldn't hit an ogre/don't fear your scarab blablabla), and the conversation was over.
IF you're doing this quest in 2022 you can use Sophanem Slayer dungeon teleport. you can also wear this in pocket slot to save an inventory space, i brought like 10
you made the puzzle at the end look so easy....... it took me 2 and a half hours to do the puzzle x.x
I used an Excel spreadsheet to keep track of the mechanical puzzle.. Way easier than trying to take pictures or memorize it
Guys, remember Theiving skilling outfit gives you free theiv location teleports!!
With the puzzle, click on the cog next to it and manipulate it to give you more turns!
Im jealous that you got the rune puzzle so easily. It took me 3 retries till I finally decided to write them down. I also didn't get as luck with them being lined up :(

Holy cow that puzzle box nearly made me flip shit, aside from that (And the Pharaoh's Sceptre shit) this was a good guide. Seems this whole quest is out of date.

Got the rune puzzle on my first try by writing stuff down, I'm maxxed so I was able to click on the lever and get extra attempts thankfully (also had diverted full power to that room). Everything else was a breeze.
i just did the quest and i almost killed myself.
~ 12:25 the beetle not working is because of the poison damage you take while talking, either use a anti-poison or speedrun the dialog
For the puzzle part i found it much easier drawing a 6x6 grid and writing in the runes as I found them then matching them up at the end.
Taking pictures/ screenshooting was taking too long for me and I would run out of time.

Why would you use a sceptre if you can use menaphos tele? Is that easier and quicker.

I went through your list of chat options for the priest with the memory loss, and had to do it again halfway before he would remember and allow me to progress with the quest. Thanks for your videos. Really has helped me out a lot in the game.

im not sure if youll see this comment here but it seems you can complete the priest of scarabs room multiple ways. as i ended up pacifying him instead of completely killing him.

My puzzle is so random every single time where the runes aren't even paired with two close to each other. i did this 6 times. still can't get it. I feel so dumb.
Did it again and had one guess left with only 2 sets of runes. Had to guess where one air rune was out of them and got it wrong. I broke my monitor after that and smoked a cigarette. I'm done.

I followed your power settings for the guide and I have the minimum skill requirements for this quest.. I stopped trying after 20 attempts. I fail the agility every time. Ill have to skill up and come back i think

Pro tip: If you need to do bronze helms, pick medium helms. I oxidized full helms and it didnt work

Well my puzzle had all 3 in a row for every single rune except one, i guess that's extremely lucky
I keep timing out trying to pull the lever in mystery box room. Says "this lever is active elsewhere;it doesn't budge." But I can pull all the other levers, not sure what to do

you dont even tell where to get the crate to put the items in, this cost me about 20 minutes. 3:34 slides down rope with no crate. 3:36 shows up with rate magically

they amde it easy recently i just did it and going left to right top toi bottom like 5 sets were lined up in natural progression i did it back and may and couldnt do it at all

You are comparing 2 diffrerent styles, while cloudvidz does it all live mainly without cuts, of cours its cut down by half
