Elena I wanna introduce you to the concept of sunk costs. If you paid for something you cannot get a refund for (as is the case with the book you mentioned) but halfway through realise it really does nothing for you, only costs you time you might be spending on a more interesting read (or something else) the opportunity cost of reading it because of the price you paid for it is way too high. The point is, the book is bought, you don't get your money back but you may use the time you are additionally spending on reading the book in a better way, by incorporating the price for the book you are miscalculating the actual cost of also reading it (though you don't like it). In short, sunk costs shouldn't matter for your decision to keep on reading because the money is gone, the costs are sunk, the only relevant cost is the opportunity cost of reading it. (Sorry for nerding out, that's the economist in me, I can't help it :D)
You can always sell it on a second hand app, someone might like it. It might not cost as much so you won’t get back all you paid but still
