Just be sure to stretch, carry snacks, and plenty of water! ^_^ It's so cool that you guys were able to visit the birthplace of Shaolin Kung Fu.

    • @_rami_745
      @_rami_745 4 года назад +1

      Few reasons are possible (anecdotal, not historically accurate), for catching blades, offers extra protection for hands, adds more weight in the direction of the swing, and could also be used to help pull sword out. The broadsword cuts very deep, and is hard to remove. Therefore, the rings could be used to pull the sword out. The rings also manipulate the center of gravity of the sword, which allows more control of the sword.

    Lin Gong-Fortify the Body or train the power, Foundation Training.
    This Training that enables the techniques to be used to their fullest potential, and most accurately fits the decription of "kungfu" (acquired skill), while techniques (san sik/kuen faat) are rightly that acquired skill in application.
    Hung Gar Kuen Training relies heavily on foundation training, specifically the training of the stances, bridge and body connection for generation and transmission of power. Our Complexity not with our techniques, but with the increasing details of the internal physiological connections we can make to create immense power for our techniques, as well as great variety of the quality of the power, whether hard, soft, sensing, circular, etc.
    Obtaining the hung gar kuen foundation is very difficult, as such not many people have the strength of will to complete it. It is because of this that hung gar kuen is not an easy style to learn and make good, but for those that are able to endure the outcomes are great and rewarding.
    STANCE-The foundation of hung gar kungfu and the number one skill of hung gar style of kungfu. Proper horse stance training in hung gar kuen involves both external (four levels) and interal (four sinkings) training. Firmness and balance are primarily achievements, followed by flexibility and mobility. Complete training will not sacrifice one for the other, as the desired result is to be fast but not weak, strong but not stiff.
    BRIDGE-Represents generally the means to intelligently transmit our core power through the "doors" of the opponent while keeping our "doors" protected/closed; the means being primarily the forarms bridge structure must be firm and solid, yet flexible and "Alive."
    Hung gar style of kungfu is famous for it's "Iron Bridge" achievement through the training methods of the 12 Bridges.
    BREATH-Is the Bridge between the mind and the body, and is the gauge used by the mind to regulate the body. In hung gar kuen we use the sounds primarily to "shape" and force the internal power to the desired extremity. With regards to power, proper timing means that the sounds. Movements and intent must match precisely. Proper use of breath/sound is the final component that unites mind and body, allowing the practitioner to create various types of live power (GING LEK).
