You forgot getting away with cutting the corner in Abu Dhabi, which was a blow for the Redbull strategy at the time since they were starting with the softs.
Also people overlook this fact. But Redbull having to bring an extra engine ahead of schedule not only meant they got the grid penalty, but also they had a power deficit towards the end of the championship as they had to hang on to the same engine in order to not receive another grid penalty and not have a power failure during a race.
@@Lamster66 You're talking about a classic racing move mate. A lot of drivers do this, not just in F1. So a lot of drivers know this move and how to handle it.

@@Lamster66 Its not that hard to cause a collision, ask Lewis in Silverstone sending his rival into the wall with 51g impact, his team mate in Hungary with a bowling move that took both Redbulls out, and his 'team mates' in Imola causing a redflag that allowed Lewis to recover from a lap down.
Verstappen's move in contrast was an overtake. After Hamilton failed to cover the inside Verstappen took the position and owned the corner. There is no "leaving enough space" cause Hamilton was never going to be in that space on time once Verstappen was on the inside before they even entered the corner. He could have made the corner slowing down and followed but chose to pull a Hamilton instead.

Kimi could have done the same thing by keep following him on the outside so he could pull a Hamilton and say "there was not enough is space" and people with "ice glasses" would be ignoring the fact he already lost the opportunity to be alongside into the corner but could nevertheless slowed to follow behind

Top 9 is Tsunoda overtaking Bottas on the same spot, by comparison Verstappen was actually further along the inside when entering the corner.
As Driver61 noted, had there being a gravel pit on the outside Max would execute the overtake just as he did while Lewis would be perfectly aware that a Hamilton would not be possible. Which is possibly why on the last lap Max executed the overtake on turn 5 before most were expecting. As the track had a long straight going the opposite direction pulling a Hamilton was not an option as he would be running the long way around.
@@Lamster66 you sound so bias smh...I've been an f1 fan since 2002. Im not a fan of Max nor Hamilton. In general, I support every driver cuz I love motorsport racing, and you get it so wrong man. I know for a fact that you have less than two years watching f1 cuz of the biased view of things you state. Go watch full on seasons of f1, I also recommend you f1 Tv so that you can see the onboards, hear team Strats and how they communicate, etc.
ALSO stop being biased about the sport, I myself have seen Hamilton get lucky throughout the whole season. Sure, he is a great driver, just as Max is, but he's gotten lucky. Max had DNF's that could have won him the championship earlier on the season and has been the most consistent driver. Overall, just stop with the bias views man. @@Lamster66 LEARN THE RULES!!! Verstappen did absolutely nothing wrong in lap 1 Abu Dhabi. That was a perfectly executed divebomb (which is allowed!!!) he was in front at the apex and stayed within the lines, textbook. Lewis on the other hand completely cut the corner and gained an unfair advantage. You snowflakes shouldn’t watch F1. Also Lewis aVoIdInG cOlLiSiOn doesn’t justify him completely cutting the corner and gaining a 250 meter unfair advantage

This is a great summary of the bad luck Max had versus Lewis, until Abu Dhabi.
Without these 5 incidents / bad luck, Max would have scored at least below additional points:
- Bahrain +8
- Silverstone +17
- Baku +25
- Budapest +14
Lewis would have scored 8 points less at Bahrain (P2 instead of P1) and 17 points less at Imola.
So we talking about 89 points of difference! Max would have been WC in Mexico or Brazil.
VERY well said, mate...but your calculation should add up to 91 rather than 89, as LH was awarded 18 rather than 17 points at Emilia-Romagna & had Max (very conservatively) 'only' finished 2nd at Silverstone rather than being punted off the track (costing him one of his engine allocations in the wreck as well, I might add & we all saw the difference that LH's new engine provided him during the final 4 rounds), then he would have won 18 rather than 17 points...no biggie but hey, they all count!
The right man won the WDC! Max you were Epic.. Toto and Hamilton I respect your talents but you were out done by a better man and team.

Late but I totally agree. What was so infuriating was that in Silverstone and Hungary, the merc driver made a mistake but benefitted as somehow the Red Bull drivers paid the consequences. They essentially failed upwards

Also Hamilton blocking Max and Perez in Hungary during Qualifying. Max made the final lap but Perez did not. This was a dirty move.
Verstappen on the other hand had absolutely no luck. Maybe only when it started raining in Russia but even then Red Bull had to decide on pitting at the right time so nothing was given to them for free. Hamilton had no business being in the championship fight at Abu Dhabi. Thankfully justice was served at the end.

This video forgot to mention that Hamilton cut the corner and gained a lasting advantage and didn't give the position back (and he literally wasn't pushed/forced off you can tell) Max parked it in the corner beautifully, turned it into the direction of the corner, and kept it on track, thus also benefitting from that, therefore he got got lucky once again and if I actually gave the position back (like how he was supposed to) he would have rightfully dropped behind Max and potentially more drivers + he could have easily rejoined the track (this again dropping places like he rightfully should), but instead wants to play victim when literally nobody 'pushed' or 'forced' him off so nobody was 'robbed' everything evened itself out in the end.
Guys it's over, Max won :) Let's just enjoy his drive and this season. Every self-respecting racefan knows of his incredible drive and extreme bad luck this year. Nobody is going to take his championship away!
Some people are still claiming Max did not deserve to win the championship because he got lucky in the last race with the safetycar.. I guess this video is just a reminder for those who forgot that the season was 22 races and Lewis got a lot more luck over the season than Max.. Max's luck in the last race was kind of justice for the rest of the season, because without all his bad luck the championship would have been over before Abu Dhabi already..

@@Lamster66 Way to much text dude.. If you want to know what season I saw, go check all the 2021 stats and F1 Power Rankings (both experts and fans).. All have Max Verstappen on top.. Also, twice a big lead in points for Max disappeared by dubious incidents (twice crashed out of a race by a Mercedes) and bad luck (tyre failure in Baku), and a dubious (we use more than the allowed 3 engines) strategy by Mercedes that gave Lewis Hamilton the edge again in the last 4 races.. And there's plenty of examples I could give you where Max got screwed by dubious inconsistent FIA stewarding as well, starting at the very 1st race in Bahrain with tracklimits.. Lewis was lucky he even still had a chance to win it in the last race, the championship should have been won by Max earlier.. Anyway, here's some of the stats of the F1 2021 season, laps led: Max 652, more than all other drivers combined incl Lewis with 297.. F1 Power Rankings average score, Max 8.9, Lewis 8.4.. That's the season I saw, with the most deserving champion in the end..

Frankly, what you think people will "remain ignorant" from not reading, reads more like a convoluted and non-parsimonious mental gymnastic spawning from a severe case of denial of the simple fact Max has performed better and made fewer errors for most of the season. A simple fact that is recognized even by most members of the Brit press who persist crying the championship was unfair cause of the last race.
If you are unable to come to terms that Lewis luckily escaped the consequences of his own errors and in some instances was even awarded for it due to the combinations of circumstances, a simple look at the championship statistics should suffice who performed stronger, never mind an in depth analysis of those numbers.
As a fan of the sport before any driver I really hope your case represents only the most extreme and Lewis himself doesn't subscribe to it and recovers from a heartbreaking loss of the title as he still has a lot to add to all of us with his talent.
Very good video. Hamilton fans, especially the english like russel should watch this and not complain about regulations. Hamilton benefited so much from stewards and race director decisions that they have no right to complain. Therefor should hamilton had won the wc, that we be UNFAIR and UNDESERVED. The wc is deserved by verstappen

The one time christmas came early for Max Verstappen. And this one was a total and utter joke.
43 free points in Silverstone and Hungary of your own teams doing and you still couldn't capitalize on that, shame.

The tyre blowout was probably Redbulls fault running the tyres low on air etc. Id count that one as half luck. the rest are total bullshit and somehow all people can remember is one lucky safety car for Verstappen in Abu Dhabi, even though safety cars happen all the time and it wasnt even that lucky.

After all that Max was still gifted the title. pathetic!!

Considering that the only other competitor throughout those year is Ferrari for only two years (and you know Ferrari is well-known for giving false hope). To some extent, he is lucky. As lucky as Max in 2022
Bahrain was unclear and Verstappen had been cutting the corners too. It was later cleared-up by Race Control mid-race that this was no longer permitted. Verstappen had the speed, Hamilton was fortunate to win in a slower car; but only because Verstappen slid wide while trying to pass the Briton with four laps remaining.
Imola, there is no doubt Hamilton was lucky as he went off when running P2 and lost time. Later on, Verstappen spun off behind the safety car and was very lucky to maintain position because LeClerc didn’t know he was allowed to pass the briefly stricken Red Bull. Verstappen and Hamilton fought back to finish P1 and P2. Both were lucky because on another day, both would have scored nothing.
Azerbaijan was a case of “What If” for both. Hamilton was leading comfortably until a botched pit-stop sent the Mercedes behind BOTH Red Bull’s. Verstappen then crashed out, and Hamilton got ahead of Perez to re-take the lead. Hamilton then dropped out of the lead (and out of the points) in the last two laps with a brake issue. Both drivers scored no points, but had both had No problems, Hamilton would have won ahead of Verstappen.
Hungary was a crazy race. After the first racing lap Hamilton had dropped from 1st to 14th!! And Verstappen had dropped from 3rd to 11th. The two best drivers in the world set about fighting back to the front. Hamilton recovered to finish P2. Verstappen got stuck in traffic and could only salvage P9.
Then there was Silverstone. After being pushed off the track in Imola, Spain and the Silverstone sprint; Hamilton decided he would not allow Verstappen to bully him in a 50-50 corner.
On the run to Copse Hamilton sold Verstappen the dummy, drew alongside and had the inside line on the first lap of the race as they approached the flat-out kink. Verstappen refused to concede and braked later into that corner with 52 laps of fuel than he did in qualifying with less than 1 lap worth of fuel. The Dutchman tagged Hamilton’s wheel and sent himself into the fence. 18pts down the drain as Hamilton romped to Gold after luckily emerging unscathed from Verstappen’s exploits.
Just putting a bit of perspective to the narrative in the video.
Just 2 things: In Baku it was a driver error from Hamilton because he hit the brake magic button and in Hungary Verstappen had no chance of fighting through the field because his car was damaged severely. ;-)
In bahrain , firstly max passed lewis on the track then went off (even lando explained the same on twitch stream) . The pre race rules about track limits at t4 were totally bs and were as made up as abu dhabi. How can u have an area on the track where u can drive but u cant overtake when the regs clearly push the idea of uniformity regarding track limits. And y did they change it mid race?

TeamLH only wants to look at Abu Dhabi, where Verstappen did nothing wrong. If teamLH could just look in the mirror for once (and look at this video) maybe they can get peace of mind. That 2021 championship was 100% max. Deserved!!
