  • Demonstration showing how to disassemble a robotic vacuum in order to clean or replace the small pivot wheel, the main brush holder/housing, the interior in general, or the battery pack. Cleaning these areas is needed when the vacuum sucks up gooey or semi-liquid gel material (such as pudding, pet messes, etc.).
Tool Needed: Phillips-drive screwdriver standard-size (#2), Phillips-drive screwdriver small-size (#1). Optional: 2 flat blade screwdrivers of any size, pick.
Shut down the vacuum. Remove the dust bin, main brush, and side brush (refer to maintenance cleaning video below if needed). On the underside of the robot vacuum, remove 6 Phillips-drive screws (NOTE: removing these screws will void the Roborock warranty) and remove the cover. The battery can be replaced at this time. To remove the small pivot wheel, pull the wheel out (note this can be done before removing the cover). To further remove the wheel’s rotating housing, spin the housing and remove the 2 screws. To remove the movable housing for the main brush, pop the hinge out and pry off the silicone part from the plastic studs/pegs to release it. Then, carefully unscrew the main brush motor from the housing to free it. Installation is reverse of removal.
The robot vacuum in the video is a Roborock S4 Max.
