Brou had a better lineup. Starting a 6'11 off ball 3 level scorer at the 4 is just common sense. Tatum can easily guard sgs and Steph is checking the opposing pg. Bron is basically magic Johnson on this squad surrounded by elite scoring.

Tatum can guard SGs but easily is a stretch. A prolific scoring guard is gonna give them problems with Brou’s lineup
@TheOneKeyToLife Prolific scoring guards will give anybody problems. Ant is a solid defender but idk that he's much better than 6'8 jayson tatum. We saw him struggle against Kyrie/Luka defensively at times. Defense at this stage is largely team concept/effort. One advantage USA has over opposing perimeter players is size and length. If I have the opportunity to surround steph curry with 4 guys who are 6'8 and above, I'm absolutely doing that. Ant is not a good offball scorer and not a great catch and shoot 3pt shooter yet. He makes more sense coming off the bench similar to what Dwade did for the 2008 team. The offense makes sense with Bron being the primary decision maker with elite shooting and length around him.
KD is a FIBA basketball cheat code.
KD is an american hero in international basketball. He even play after coming back from major injury. KD game translate very well in international competition. This is not lock gold because of Lebron or Steph is playing, it is because KD is still playing.

The starting 5 should be Steph, Lebron, KD, Kawhi and AD. Not the best players nowadays, but for the sake of showing respect -- those 4 have to play together for the sake of basketball fans around the world. The 4 of them (not including AD) defined a generation of NBA basketball.
They are both almost right but the starting lineup should be - Steph, Ant, Lebron, KD, Embiid. Tatum first off the bench (he and LeBron play a similar role and really don't want more than one of them on the court together for too long).
The fact that we have Embiid feels like cheating 😂 We need the extra juice tho. Canada, Serbia and France are scary.
This is not new , Hakeem Olajuwon played for team USA in ‘96 Olympics to win gold. Embiid moved to the states at age 16, he’s 30 that’s almost half his life USA is his home country at this point.

This is probably the first time I’ve seen Brou make a “you’re clearly not an athlete” take. I haven’t played with my high school squad in ten years, and I know for a fact that if we came together and did an open rec run, we’d sweep because even though years have passed, I still know how they like to play and their strengths and weaknesses which is an inherent advantage over building a team with a bunch of talented dudes who’ve never played together competitively
