Probably the first game that makes the Vita worth buying for. Liking the modern spin on the character models and the many shots so far make it out to be another solid title, not that that's unexpected. And the arrange of Theme of Adol '93 at the end gives me hope for more of the older masterpieces making it in with fresh remixes. AND Gadis is still voiced by fuggin' Tessho Genda. Ys let's goooooooo

As far as a premium box goes, we may get one but don't expect the Drama CD to be inside of it. That's probably the only part we won't get in the english version.

well in the video it says Foliage ocean in celceta. and i read on a site that it had been changed to Ys: Celceta Sea of Trees.. so i hope it will be that. that way i can say that i want it xD

(personally haven't play PS2 version Ys 3-5. Plus, they don't have official guild books for Ys 3-5) if they made Ys 3-5 onto the PSV, that would really be good news for us fans, big news
I agree with John, it retained an action adventure theme without resorting to using the same old instruments and still managed to sound pretty darn awesome and that's the important part really, a game is meant to be a mix of good storyline, gameplay and music and usually YS games are all 3 (heck falcom games in general are all 3) so I don't see how anyone can complain other than maybe YS purist's in which case make your own YS game if your so butt hurt about it. ;)
Now only thing we need is a remake of V and we're done with remakes~ Although a Ys I-II remake in 3d would be pretty neat too. Anyways, I hope Ys VIII is Adol only. Not like I'm against 3 characters fighting at the same time, but I need my classic play with only Adol
Yeah, I get what you're saying, but I just don't remeber they saying straight in a opening who's voice the actor for X character, specially Adol, so it just rather surprised me more than anything else. Kusao Takeshi is the man when it comes to give the voices for these kind of characters! As for Yuki Kaji, I'll give him a chance, but I know what you mean. It's like when they changed Sol Badguy' voice from Hikaru Hanada for George Nakata, at first It was strange, but i got used to it .

(still bought the drama CD bundle set + guild book ) i'm a super fan of Ys since i was a kid. i bought all their localized psp premium limited edition box, as well as their guild books >< i'd also agree with ahmedp800 that this game will only be the reason for me to purchase a PSV / keeping it~~ lol

Doesn't Ys vs TitS count as a Party System style game? Yeah after that last one Party System game (or even after Celceta) they'll start using a new engine for the Ys games. We;ll have to wait and see after Sen no Kiseki is released.
Don't really know why everyone's complaining about the opening theme. Imo, i think it sounds pretty awesome, or at the very least, it still sounds like a falcom game should sound like. Sure, we don't have the beautifull guitar riffs that we've been getting so acostumed to with the evolution and super arrange versions, but to be honest, ys games aren't all just about the soundtracks, the gameplay is pretty amazing too, not to mention the compelling storylines. So just relax dudes enjoy the ride;)
Is this going to be released in the US? And do you need to play all the Ys games to play this one? I'm currently playing Ys Seven and wondering if I need to go back and play the rest
Actually, they're testing the waters by releasing Ys Origin and Ys Oath in Felghana on Steam. If it sells well they'll go back to producing PC games. The only reason they "won't" is because PC/PSP/Vita development is essentially the same but Japan's market is in the consoles, even though Vita bombed in Japan. Steam versions are also a test if it's worth localizing out west.
So apparently to make a protagonist OP with a plot armor, establish that he dies at a certain age in the series, and each game is a story of his accomplishments. Hell, it works in novels too, considering Caphias Cain is a thing.
Yeah. He's voiced by Yuuki Kaji now, for whatever reason. As for him talking... well, that would be pretty crazy to say the least--Adol talking in a canon entry. I don't think Falcom has the balls to do it, but you never know. It'd be blasphemy, pure and simple, but I could still probably dig it.
XSEED has actually commented on not releasing VS. Alternative Saga has a TON of spoilers for Sora no Kiseki SC and 3rd in its story, and it wouldn't do to release that before they released Second Chapter. You can get away with releasing before 3rd, because what's in it is negligible... but before SC is a very bad idea.
Try "I'm 17 and I don't get much of an allowance, so I may be frugal, but I still pretty much spend every penny I'm given because I hardly even have ten or so dollars.' Actually, now it would just be the PSVita, because I learned they're compatible.
I feel terrible because I'm such a long time Ys fan (TGCD) but this is the first Ys game I've seen and not only been not excited for but have actively decided I don't even want to try. I greatly disliked the Ys 7 system but to add insult to injury the really went with this character design. At least I'll always have the old games.

To be honest, this was one of the main reasons I bought the Vita, I just freaking love the Ys series. xD

He also has virgin armor and hasn't banged any Ys girl yet. Even in the last game his plot armor broke and couldn't even save Dana ;_;
