Godfather of EMD locomotives in India visits North India : WDG-4 12001 at full speed

India's first imported EMD GT46MAC i.e., WDG-4 #12001 makes rare visit to North Indian territory. This locomotive was the first 4000 HP High-Speed Diesel locomotive to be introduced in Indian Railways and served as base for the later introduced WDP-4, WDP-4B and WDP-4D locomotives which are now used to haul Fastest Diesel trains of India at 130 KMPH in commercial runs. EMD GT46MAC series locomotive was also used to conduct 180 KMPH trials of TALGO train sets.
