    Winter in Canada means I start running out of footage before the snow melts, so I took over the birds room to try and show off some glowing stones.

    Neat stuff! I am still rocking a cheap one for now, I haven't determined a particular use for knowing if my rocks are UV reactive yet. I think that Yooperlite is just a rebranded UV Beast, those seem to be the best.

      Thanks. I never saw that brand, but ya, all you need is the filter and any strong light can work.

    Very nice! I just got a UV flashlight, for 90 bucks, 365 nm, and while it shows very nice colors, it turns so hot in my hand in about less than 3 minutes, I have to turn it off! I think they put rechargeable lithium batteries in it... and it looks like this is a true safety hazard.... so I am returning it to the store! Bummer!
    Can you tell me what brand the golden flashlight that you used, is? Thanks! Keep making more videos, please!

    Thank You. I have noticed differences in the various uv flashlights vs bulbs vs tubes. This was cool to view. I do not have all of those minerals. Thank You! 🙏🚂🎼🌹🎶🎵🛠~C< 3)>>-Z->}

    Loved the video. Gotta go back and watch agsin. I turned on notification for the premier but didn't notify me until 7:08 grrrrrr
    Sorry, I arrived late. My favorite was the corundum though. My fluorite I think glowed green not purple. So many awesome samples.

      Ya, I borrowed those rubies from my friend. I think I like the calcite the best because I have so many colors of it. But the glowing opals is pretty stupid too. I think I have to make a piece of the hyalite into a cab.

    Finally got a chance to rewatch the video, didn't realize at first you were using various different sources of light. 365 nm *filtered* is totally the way to go. I have a $30 Alonefire I use that gets the job done. But that "Yooperlite" is definitely high end. I believe its a remanufactured Convoy C8 which is a favorite for people in the Great Lakes area here looking for rocks the fluoresce mainly sodalite. Many of us don't use the name "Yooperlite" as it is a copyright name by one person, so we just now say "emberlite" to avoid arguments. The UV Beast is another excellent choice for anyone wanting an excellent UV light. Both are a little too much for my taste hence the $30 Alonefire. Also, please be careful bro with the constant UV radiation and maybe reconsider a display case unless its not constantly on as the light is very damaging to your eyes. And the older we get the more precious our sight is. Not trying to be a Debbie Downer. Just looking out for ya 😁👍
    I still like the corundum best. But that opal looks dope too and that calcite was fire also! I have a rock I got from Utah that I'm guessing it may be opal after watching your video, the way it glowed. Its a whitish material surrounding this gorgeous yellow chalcedony. Really cool video. I enjoyed it.

      All of the flashlights I bought were labeled as 365 nm. The two pack had a 365 and a 395. We do not have as many options for ordering up here if you can believe it. Like that alonefire. I tried to get that one at one point I think.

      Well, since you are mentioning it... I just had the UV Beast. It is now back in the box, returning to sender, lol. It got so freaking hot in no time, I had to put it down and turn it off to cool off again, which took forever. Turning it on again got it to heat up even more.... that's a serious No no for me. I was so disappointed. It does a nice job showing the different fluorescence of my rocks, though. I think the rechargeable batteries are made of lithium. I'm wondering if anybody who manufactures these ever thinks of trying to actually use them for real, before selling them!

    Great video! Thank you for demonstrating the different UV lights. I bought a $30 one a few months ago and wasn't too impressed. I figured, like with most things, the better items and higher end item are priced higher because they are better. Love the phosphorescence of the opals, with the better light! So cool! Thanks for sharing!✌🤠

      I think what he was talking about is lichen. It is a moss / fungus / bacterium.... they can occur in many combinations in nature. You can google it....
