- 👉Our buddies over at @kinhank are at it again! This time they've sent Zu and Gary the X5 Pro, an RK3588 android console box that can play everything up to PS2 and GameCube. And it's not just some of the games - it'll play darn near the whole catalog.
Speaking of the whole catalog, this console also comes with a 4TB hard drive loaded with one of the finest collections I've ever seen. No duplicates, no off-brand hacks to pad the numbers, just an immaculate collection with box art, descriptions, and videos.

Zu is excited as all get out for this one. What do you think? Could this be the last retro console you need to buy?
It is very well done, though I'm waiting for an 8GB version of the OPI B with DDR5 ram on this same chipset. Plus it will be a lot cleaner than this setup is as well, but that drive is a for sure a selling point of this whole unit.
Could you do a video on how to set up for a 2 player game? I've contacted the controller company and the game console company, but no luck.
I’d suggest ordering another GameSir controller online, I’d just make sure it comes with a Dongle (No Bluetooth) it needs that dongle just like the one you got with your X5 Pro
Or you could try any other controller that uses USB🤷♂️
I’ve seen people use a Xbox360 or PS4 with these things

Real talk. My very first "retro console" was the Kinhank Super Console X. It looked like a little SNES puck, maxed out at N64 and PSP, and was a pretty neat piece of hardware for the price.
It's pretty cool to be reviewing the latest and greatest from the same company more than two years and 70+ videos later!

This thing is awesome. It plays PS2 and PS1 better than anything I've seen. Everything runs smooth and looks as good as it can on HDTV. Plus all those other systems! I love this thing.
Oh yeah, it's such a step beyond the normal "consoles" that it's not funny.
Cheers Zu. As a (nearly) plug and play solution that's pretty sweet. The price on the Aliexpress Kinhank store ain't too shabby either. An older mini-ish PC with Batocera would be a lot cheaper but that kinda depends on how much you value your time and possibly your sanity setting it all up. As for play testing I'd try Black on PS2 with an upscale , oh and try and do some license tests on Gran Turismo 4.

Im waiting for a console that is a plug and play. If i have to program a remote for a product over $300, then I feel it's not ready for that price point. Im happy paying $300 for a product that requires no fiddling.
This looks pretty awesome, I’m wondering if it has Killer Instinct 1 and 2 arcade and if they run? They tend to be missing on these systems, or not work.

Were you able to configure the game pad or do you need to use the remote to go to menu and change it, or do you need another controller to play?

Ever since I came across the OrangePi 5 last year I was wondering when the RK3588 family would show up in a handheld. I’m not sure if this happened yet but this at least shows it might have some?potential
Seems on par with the 556 in a lot of ways, but I need to do more testing. - Zu
if you are interested in handhelds I recommend buying the RG35XX Plus or H or maybe buy the RK2023.
Wait 3-4 weeks for the RG35XX SP to release. The Anbernic version of Gameboy SP is about to release and it's super hype

Can you give advisement on how to do 2 player setup? Also, I had issue either wii and GameCube loading. Any ideas? Company hasn’t responded
Brilliant console for retro games and the android box is great for TV streaming.
One thing. The Bluetooth chip is very poor. I've tried all sorts of BT headphones on there and it's very choppy. Not a game changer but just a heads up.
Good note. I always use these consoles with the TV as my audio source and didn't even realize there was a problem with BT audio.
Please do some more emulation on gamecube and PS2, so we can assess the performance out of the box. Thanks :)

Nba Street vol 3 is not playable shows that message on the preview window just one that i found, also Captain America on the Wii needs a Wii mote message whenever i open it.

You can update it on the Google playstore or install the apk from the dolphin website.

It's Android, so you can plug in storage and use the android file system to copy stuff around. You can also plug the HDD directly into your computer with a SATA cord, but don't delete anything. It could make the pegasus front-end act up.

Hi. I have this system. For some reason my dream cast games are full screen now and running very slow. Do you know who to fix this? I can't find the setting for the screen size.
If you're using the retroarch core, go into the retroarch menu, go to settings > video > scaling > aspect ratio > and set it to 4:3.
If you're using a standalone android app, back on the remote should take you into the menu > settings > graphics > aspect ratio.

I threw the drive in a hard drive enclosure and used the usb port works just fine … Easy fix …
Did you hook the drive to your PC and it came up? I was shipped two of these hard drives and neither worked in the X5 or my PC

Was there any Xbox Xbox 360 or PS3? I am done buying anything until they come up with a plug n play or external hard drive that has everything equal to PS2 up to PS3 with almost complete library. I have the kinhank 16T hyper spin external hard drive and for example PS2 has 658 games BUT less than 20 RPGs that's bull crap! And they aren't even the well known best ones. If it had at least 10 percent RPGs ratio I would have been pleased. Which would have been 65 RPGs for PS2 in this collection.
No. Those systems don't have stable emulation on Android.
Question do they box this android box with the correct powersupply for each country? If not what powersupply would i need if in UK?
Not sure. Mine came with a standard US plug, so I don't know what adapters you might already have that could work with that. Might be worth reaching out to KinHank. They have a contact us page on their website.
@@retrohandhelds according to kinhawk powersupply is corrected depending on region going to. Update got mine today didn't come with a power adapator that was correct. Sigh. Update 2 : correction i was disabled so couldn't put the adaptar plug together correctly.

Yep, but you might need to delete older stuff. If you can pick a handful of GC or PS2 games you're not interested in, you'll free up enough space for entire libraries of older systems.
Can you play xmen vs street fighter
Yes you can. I got the console super x. This is a x5. You can expect all the x vs SF, marvel vs, etc etc. I can even play marvel vs Capcom 2.
What about nba street

This unit crushes that box of overpriced French mediocrity you reviewed recently like how Ohio State crushes Indiana in football. What's the difference in price between them, like $50? A person would have to be a couple quarts short of an oil change to be willing to pay $250 for "Le Petite Machine Temporelle" but not be willing to pay $300 for the glorious name brand Kinhank.
Game Request: "WRC: Rally Evolved" is a really tough PS2 game to emulate. I'm not sure if it's weirdly coded and can't be emulated or if it's just really difficult. My SD845 phone struggles harder with it than it does with any other PS2 game I've ever tried and I don't have anything better at the moment (poor financial decisions, yo!) to try it on.
WRC Rally Evolved is on the list! Speaking of weirdly coded games, I read that the GC Rogue Squadron games are super hard to emulate because the devs basically wrote their own software interface to make the GameCube perform way better than what you'd get using the Nintendo-provided dev toolbox. Dolphin can handle it, but it needs extra power to emulate the extra stuff Factor 5 used.

lol wife mad because controller needs to be configured it's easy to setup in retroarch with controller settings you can setup 5 controllers
It's easy enough to do, but since everything else is already pre-configured, it was kind of a jarring thing to run into.

If you have the interest and patience, an Xbox Series S/X is able to do this AND you get to play Xbox games. I think most people are better off doing this on an xbox
Selling items with software you are not licensed to sell/distribute harms the community. It just makes the proper license holders come down harder on everyone . I like retro devices, and i like emulation and roms, but sellers should not collect money and distribute licensed software in the same package.
You have to remember these are games no longer in production. If it had PS5 games then I could see your point.
@@BeastCake1349 well first they showed switch games, second that argument doesnt fly with people who own the licenses. they don't separate out of production and new games. specially ones like Nintendo that are constantly re-releasing games. and these games are showing up on retro services and consoles like on psn and xbox so many ARE still in a kind of "production " I don't have a problem with roms of old games. the problem is attaching MONEY to them.
