Cant wait to see how you get on in these races. I do have a question though: Race tracks can often get slippy as a result of the various oils and nasties that race cars drop everywhere. Is that something you have to be wary of when you are out on a circuit on a bike going at race pace?
@@TheRegularRunner Thanks Matt. The circuits I have raced one have been fine but I guess it’s a risk. I’d like to think the surface is checked and swept but not sure it is. Mind you, there has never been any debris in any circuit I’ve raced on. It’s fun to race in and be free of traffic that we get on public roads.
Duathlons were traditionally training races in the winter for triathletes when there was no swimming, before it became a sport. Getting to the line injury-free is the main goal🤣🤣 Good luck with the Yellow Unicorn. Track sessions are part of my weekly regime, but I am being cautious, as it is where I usually get injured.
@@ampgb223 trues enough Rich. Getting to the start line e is priority number one! And yes, track work can be tough in the legs. That’s why I need to stay measured and controlled. Not go crazy which is tempting in the moment🤯

Hopefully see you at Oulton for the British Champs. The run event at Oulton looks good too. Did a 10k there for a few years ago too.
@@simonhallgbduathlete thanks Simon. Yes hope the weather plays ball. I should stop over thinking that and just get stuck in!

I think it was early 2024 I used spikes for the first time, horrendous!! I had heal, achilleas and calf problems afterwards and never used them again.
