    Luke 19:43 Jesus says: "For the days will come upon you, when your enemies will set up a barricade around you and surround you and hem you in on every side" When I was reading Josephus' description of the siege of Jerusalem, that's exactly what the Romans did. They built a wooden fence around the perimeter of the walls of Jerusalem so that the Jewish fighters could not escape in the night and regroup somewhere else. If they escaped over the walls of Jerusalem they were trapped by the fence. I was stunned at how specific that prophecy of Jesus was about the siege.

    However we often forget a few additional details: firstly, after the Maccabean restoration of Temple worship after the profanity of the Greek rulers (the basis for the ‘modern’ commemoration of Hanukkah), Herod’s additions and alterations to the Temple which is referred to in this video, is the work of a non-Jewish ruler, as the Hasmoneans were Arabs. So, the true Christ of Israel was looking at this structure, and speaking of its Destruction has two other meanings. Firstly, that the rule of the Hasmoneans were not part of God’s approved line of rulers, and also, that the line of priests were not from the line of Levites either. Thus neither the kingship or priesthood were ‘valid’, and it was in such a time that the true Annointed One and High Priest and Son of God appeared, in the person of Jesus Christ to institute his own eternal Church.

      he literally said no one knows not even the son.
      There are a few possible dates for when the 70 weeks prophecy started. I think the most likely is in Ezra ( i think) when the Persian king made a decree in 457BC - 490 years on from this would mean the 70th week finished in AD 33/34 (not quite sure as there is no year zero). The last week (7 years) likely started when Jesus was baptised in AD27 and 3 1/2 years later, literally in the midst of the week, he was crucified. For the next 3 1/2 years the gospel went out to only the Jews. Then after Stephen was stoned to death in AD34 the gospel was sent to the gentiles. Jesus predicted the destruction of the temple happening within one generation (40 years) so from AD 34 to AD 70 is less than one generation.
      Sure I've made a few mistakes but this is my basic understanding

      I don’t think so. I’ve come to the conclusion Mystery Babylon represents old Jerusalem which was replaced with the New Jerusalem, a spiritual kingdom. I think Revelation is about the mystery of the kingdom (Christ in you & all things being gathered together as one in Christ) being finished.

The earliest written gospel is believed to have been written post 70ACE particularly because of the so called predictions of "Jesus". Jesus, a literary invention if there ever was one.

      In Daniel 9:26 "And after threescore and two weeks shall Messiah be cut off, but not for himself: and the people of the prince that shall come shall destroy the city and the sanctuary; and the end thereof shall be with a flood, and unto the end of the war desolations are determined." It calls Titus Vespesian a "Prince" that came to destroy the city and sanctuary. To have in Jewish literature an oracle for the destruction brought by Romans is quite amazing and probably not what Jews expected. This is the same oracle that inspired radical Jews to fight Rome in the first place. It seems like it really backfired and the Gospels are just trying to make it come right by having Jesus predict the whole thing, of course after it had already happened since the Gospels were written after the Temple was destroyed.

  • @jamesgillgam8199
    @jamesgillgam8199 5 лет назад +8

    According to Daniel 9, the messiah had to come and die before Jerusalem and the temple were destroyed in 70AD. Jesus Christ is the only choice.
    therefore understand the matter, and consider the vision.
    24Seventy weeks are determined upon thy people and upon thy holy city, to finish the transgression, and to make an end of sins, and to make reconciliation for iniquity, and to bring in everlasting righteousness, and to seal up the vision and prophecy, and to anoint the most Holy.
    25Know therefore and understand, that from the going forth of the commandment to restore and to build Jerusalem unto the Messiah the Prince shall be seven weeks, and threescore and two weeks: the street shall be built again, and the wall, even in troublous times.
    26And after threescore and two weeks shall Messiah be cut off, but not for himself: and the people of the prince that shall come shall destroy the city and the sanctuary; and the end thereof shall bewith a flood, and unto the end of the war desolations are determined.
