I have an armoire full of designer bags, but I also have a gorgeous gray bag that has that cool girl vibe that I love! I paid $12 for it years ago and it still does it for me!

The only thing I would say Deb something I noticed many years ago is some of the lovely looks I’ve seen over the years are people who have been photographed or seen in real life is when people really use their bags ie Jane birken is the best example, the leather softens and looks lived in hope that makes sence ❤

Such a great topic Deb. There are some situations where we don’t feel comfortable taking a high end designer bag. I have Chanel and Louis Vuitton bags (sadly no Hermes 😢) but I still love my Chloe, Mulberry and Coach bags. Sadly I have had to do months of hospital and nursing home visits and my longchamp tote has been my go to on those days. Thanks for another great thought provoking video. Love your channel. I have the same issue , being an evolving collector you usually start with the middle brands and work your way up , so when you do get your dream bags you still end up with your first babies ! Mind you , I don't always think the higher price tags automatically ends up meaning superior , as the quality of some of those originals that cost sometimes a fraction of the price still impresses me to this day ! And to some people our ' starters ' might still seem like luxury ! Gorgeous jumper 😀 ❤️, by the way ! Where's it from ??
Sometimes it’s good to have a lower end bag so that you can use it to knock around to it. For example, if you are going to the barn or going to work, and you don’t want to show off your fancy bags.
Totally understandable honestly! I don’t really buy affordable bags just because I have a big collection and I want to get my cost per wear on the bags I paid a lot of money on. I don’t go places where I cannot have a designer bag with me, so I always have a choice, sometimes it’s just my Goyard a an LV monogram bag that are easy to care for. Anyway, I just learned that I end up not using the more affordable bags, so now, I just don’t get them. It’s not because I’m a snob or anything like that, I just think my collection is well rounded and I have a bag for every occasion as it is. And my space is not endless also.😂
I have some fantastic cheapies. Just because something isn't a well-known brand or didn't cost a lot of money doesn't mean it doesn't have good design.
I love mixing luxury with High Street. If I like something, I like it. I might enjoy luxury, but I'm not a snob. Interesting design is an interesting design, and if the quality is there (and let's face it, some luxury is not necessarily high quality), great!
Not everything that’s expensive is of great quality. Just as you pointed out, Deb, some less expensive brands like Mulberry and Fairfax and Favour make great quality products. I think that it has been proven that high end brands like Chanel and Louis Vuitton have shown in the last few years that their quality isn’t what it used to be. I’m a plus size woman who has been plus size since I was a kid. Many department stores didn’t carry plus sized clothing for a long time. When brands started catering to us, the clothing wasn’t always the best quality but the prices were very high because there weren’t that many of them and competition wasn’t great. I say this to show (as the old saying goes) not all that glitters is gold. My comment on your video about the Anine Bin handbag was about the crackling sound it made. That was my only concern for you. Thank you for addressing this subject because I believe it will be helpful. Sorry for the novel I’m leaving you, lol.
I want to be shop mindfully. It’s nothing to do with being snobby but rather buy less, buy very good
Personally, I like to have a few low-end bags in my collection. Especially when it comes to having to take one to a nail salon or hairdresser where they could easily get damaged. But yet they will still look good.

I think it’s about the individual item and quality and taste. I buy various price points but know what to look for by now. My slouchy suede bag for this seasons trend is from mango and I don’t care. I think the recent one you got just wasn’t great so the feedback was based on that not brand snobbery.

All these things have been designed by someone, only certain designers got super lucky and ended up in the “top tier”
If it hadn’t been for that lucky opportunity they would still be on the first rung of the ladder with everyone else.

People should just buy what they admire 🛍️
I didn’t like because it was “inferior brand” I just thought it was hideous looking.
