Nelson was a hub for good and interesting people like him. I haven't seen drama in his videos(except for a few,but that is life). I wish I could have had lunch with him in NY. Thankfully his recordings live on. Thanks for posting☺
Rembrandt van Rijn well... it's still there and you can go into it!! It's a strange feeling! I was there when it was a home, a restaurant and an art Gallery. I don't know what it is now, but I'm sure it's some type of establishment that will allow you to go inside and walk around. It's such a surreal experience! 🤖🤓
Nelson gives me so much comfort; he is a source of calm to me. I've came in, long shit working day KNOW I'm in New York. soon. but.... and food, few beers. weather awful outside, snow sleet then I. watch this x
I was born 10/30/1980 but I get souch nostalgia and comfort from Nelson. He seemed so lovable and quirky. RIP Nelson Sullivan. Thank you for all the memories 🤘💐🖤
Nelson is so like my husband. Im in my own home, take me or leave me but i will wander around in my boxers and be myself lol! Doesnt matter its all hanging out! He makes u feel so safe without even trying, i can imagine he was the best friend, hence so many people cared.

URBAN UK LEGEND 68 I am subscribed to Retro Room but haven’t been there yet to watch more. I noticed right after the upload today on this channel they uploaded too.
M Stuart I’m so sorry to hear that 🙁 I know how it feels to lose the love of your life....I lost mine in 2001. Sending you condolences and I hope that you find peace. I’m here if you need to talk. Much love to you. 💕
That ending shot of all his visitors walking away up the street and the dog looking out a high window...damn the guy knew how to work the camera to great effect so often.
This is a great video - love meeting more friends of Nelson's. New to me, even though this is them from 30 years ago. I laughed at how Galen asked Nelson not to film and then he keeps filming anyway. Stephanie talking about movies she hates - I do that all day... The movie that Sylvia Miles was talking about filming was Spike of Bensonhurst. The Geraldine was Geraldine Smith. Sometimes when we watch these people say why isn't so and so friendlier to Nelson, but you can see in moments like this how many did care about him. The shot of him filming Dick and the others as they slowly become specks on the camera, with Blackout watching through the window, is a beautiful little thing.
SoggyAnimalCracker - me too.... because he regularly does it...and it's very cool....back then there really wasn't RUclips or any public place he would have put them. so it's a more personal insult I feel. he made these for himself.
SoggyAnimalCracker I know. If I was around back then and if I knew him I would have let him film me even though I hate cameras. He was an artist so I would have found it a compliment.
Just want to say I love your comment. I always wonder why such a decent, real person like Nelson surrounded himself with so many vain, shallow, fake people. But you're right, you see he did have real love in his life. How i wish I'd been his best friend.
Always a pleasure every time there is a new upload. Nelson's videos still stand the test of time, his vision was far ahead of his own time. Thank you for dedicating your time and sharing these videos with the world.
How much I wish Nelson was still there. The people, who had such great honor to visit Nelson, were so lucky to have this opportunity to know Nelson, visit him, and enjoy his company. I wonder if Dick, his friend, is still around.
I would love to make nelson's home a restaurant, the only thing you can hear in it would be his vlogs on repeat, his photos framed and a lot of other stuff 😭
Maritza Aponte I think Dick got most everything. All of Nelson ' s family has passed away. I would love to know what happened to his family home in Kershaw.
I don't know who owns it now, but it did appear at a Nelson Sullivan exhibition that took place in Nelsons house not so long ago. Here's a link ruclips.net/video/5-_Jq-2N9aA/видео.html
ERIKA DOWDY Me too! Though I grew up in South San Francisco, California which was pretty lively for a 16yr old who was raising herself 100%. I TOTALLY connect to theses videos in a more than nostalgic way. It’s like looking back and re living that special time. On 2/28 I turn 47. Times have changed beyond what I could ever have imagined but the 80s have the biggest strong hold on my heart. Salute Erika
Deadeyes X - I had a hernia in my groin/lower abdomen repaired 5 or 6 years ago. The repair was a lot more painful than when I had the actual hernia and when it ripped open. Even sneezing sucked..let alone sitting up. My respect for women who undergo C-Sections has gone up immensely. I live in Canada, where we have free health care..but you have to wait a little longer than in countries where you pay your surgeons. However, I only had a wait a couple of weeks for my surgery, due to how bad my intestines were sticking through my abdominal wall. They were concerned about intestinal strangulation, so they operated rather quickly.
Would you ever allow people to use these videos in unofficial music videos? I mean these are really good clips you have captured I’m sure people would love to use your footage and apply good music over it to capture the nostalgia; like David dean burkharts edits.
I bought a Puegot bike while I lived in Germany. It was beautiful. When I came back I found an apartment in 6 months. Took my bike out of storage and my bike was stolen within a month having it chained outside my apartment. In Germany, I could leave my bike outside a restaurant or where ever and not worry about it being stolen. Not in America.
I have to skip the video when he starts talking to Sylvia. She just gets on my nerves..Too loud and talks way too much..She talks about everything and I mean everything. I wonder how in the hell you get off the phone with that woman?
There is something so calming about this man. His energy was so gentle. So grateful for this collection!

I wish Nelson's old place was remade into a museum of sorts. Would be nice, so many memories in that house.

Film festival of these vids!
I love looking on my news feed and seeing a new video upload!
Me too!
Chris Bruce Sr. Ya its great that they released his archives to a responsible editor who is doing a great job!
Nelson would be proud.💜 RIP
I wish that were still possible :-(
Love to see that Nelson was watching some of his videos that we are now watching.
Your annoying as hell

That was very beautifully described. I feel like that about a few games too, like Persona 4 or FFVII Crisis Core.

I loved seeing Nelson play his own video on the tv that I have watched on RUclips. Slightly surreal :)

Imagine poor nelson walking up those flight of steps with that hernia operation.

You’d have to be a real asshole to not like Nelson Sullivan

Dear Nelson you & I are the same age. 33 yrs since your death & I'm enjoying your videos.

You see the whole ween in the video just after his operation :0

Honestly these vids are the best part of my life. I don't have anything or anyone else.
you okay?
@@blobcity3591 I'm used to it...but wow so kind of you to ask ....
Dick is such a good friend. Is he the one that preserved all these videos for nelson?
Maritza Aponte I think so
Dick and Nelson were friends from the age of five. They lived next door to each other.
I would love to make nelson's home a restaurant, the only thing you can hear in it would be his vlogs on repeat, his photos framed and a lot of other stuff 😭
Or even better, a museum.
Dick is such a good friend.
Maritza Aponte yeah Dick is such an awesome beautiful person; God bless him; do you know if Dick is still alive?
Melissa Onorati isn't he the one uploading these videos? 🤔
Coco Chanelll yes
Coco Chanelll no its not him it's some other person

The guy that drove off on bike appeared rude, he told nelson to shut the camera off when he arrived. LOL....
The funny thing is in many of his videos they tell him that and his just like "ok" but never does. lol
I wonder who has that drawing of nelson on the wall

Keith Haring is on the TV. I guess they were friends too?
Yes. Keith is in some of Nelson's other vids.
I will trade my mother in law for Nelson
I’d love to pop round and watch RuPaul movies with Nelson
Galen telling Nelson to stop filming... you can’t tell people what to do in their own house. Rude.
What is the video Nelson is watching at the end with John Sex and Rupaul?
