@OtaKing77077 : Sir - I would like to thank you for this awesome animation. It may be the most epic part of SW universe since the Duel of the Fate! I really wish Disney would make an SW animation - with you as lead artist and director... ps. and details level you put inside this was amazing. I feel once again like 7 years old boy playing Tie-Fighter on 386SX33 and breaking joystick... You're the man.
I love the refrences like the reload tug and the briefing guy but it would have been great If you had the Hand of the Emperor guy standing in the background during the briefing
That game (and X-wing) was my favorite game growing up. I played it forwards and back, and absolutely love and appreciate all the details you put in and so beautifully animated. It would be spectacular to see the Tie Fighter storyline put into an anime while keeping all the HUDs and mechanics like you did. Exosquad (kinda like a Star Wars meets Macross, and was even rumored to have been planned to tie into Macross) was my other childhood beloved sci fi universe, and also quite forgotten.
@@abysswatcher9172 Actually most of the time it was just X-Wings harassing and running away. The Alliance really didn't like fighting fleet battles like this,
Kyle Katarn Yeah, on top of definitely liking Star Wars, he's also apparently an even bigger fan of the anime "golden age" anime style (80's-early 90's); and Star Wars-inspired showcases that animation quite well, especially when you see that female pilot pull off an "Itano Circus" with those missiles. If you wanna watch it on your own time, another RUclipsr actually Re-Mastered this short, by replacing the metal music with voices and the orchestral soundtracks from the Star Wars Movies. The end result gives a notably different experience that feels a lot more Star Wars than the most recent Hollywood attempts, imho.
@@nemo0036Today I learned that "Itano Circus" is a term that exists and what it means. 😁 I don't think I'll be looking for that remaster myself, though; this 'TIE Fighter' short is perfect as it is, fist-pumping metal music included.
What I really enjoyed as an unabashed Star Wars nerd was the accuracy of everything. From the TIE fighter controls to the Imperial gunners sighting in the turbolaser batteries to the use of an Interdictor Cruiser. Also, that grin on the Imperial admiral's face when they were in range with the big guns...that's just perfect. He's about to kill a bunch of Rebel scum and he's just LOVING it. It was neat that they showed the true destructive force of Star Destroyers, too. Those things are flying fortresses armed to the teeth. Then beyond the teeth. Then beyond that. The animation is great but enough people have mentioned that, thought I'd talk about something else I loved =)
This is pure art. That guy took years to make this, it's fucking amazing! And I agree that the music was on-point. I hate the music that they used in Rebels and the new movies because it doesn't sound alien enough, but in this case it fits perfectly because it's celebrating that style of anime.
What really impressed me was the humble but quintessential reload tug. The Secret Order is giving this mission a miss. But at the back of my mind, Chaos is still murmuring: "Your Emperor is false... "
I don't support the Empire. I don't support the Alliance all that much. But i liked this fan film a...little bit...too much. I mean i like the battles. I mean both sides dying left and right, it satisfies me. I like war.
I agree the music was more retro anime than star wars, but the way it kind of subtly WAS star wars is what impressed me the most about it. Especially the bits when it's focused on the ISDs, you distinctly feel like it's sort of an echo of the Imperial March without actually sounding the same at all.
Surprised you haven't seen this before. It is an excellent short. As much as I liked Rebels, this is the type of animation that the franchise could use in the next animated series.
@@KyleKatarnChannel we do know that Imperials are capable of 72ish% accuracy and we have certainly seen a few really legit Imperials. But that does seem to be the exception and not the rule. Not like Legends where Imperials were really hardcore tough.
I can't believe you've never seen this! I love it. From what I remember, it was a labor of love, I think it took the creator some 7 years to create this. By the way, I honestly can't recall if you've already done it, but how about reactions to Heroes Fan Productions tributes "The Chosen One" and "Kenobi"?
Yeah, probably the interdictor already had its gravity wells activated shortly as it left hyperspace. What you saw there was its Torpedo and missile distress field. When activated this field was able to completely mess up every guidance System that any torpedo ir missile had. And the ship, the Design and abilitys were taken from now legends material. I even think that its distress field is from empire at war. Correct me if i'm wrong.
There is still so much legends material for me to read, play and watch, even if i already read, played and watched a lot of it. But even that probably tiny bit that i already explored is enough for me to say that legends in my eyes is a Ton bester than any Canon Material, so far!!!
1) You think you got enough helmets in the background? lol and 2) Wow you know your stuff, I didn't even know about some of the things you talked about like the Gravity Wells, I may like the Star Wars OG Trilogy and the EU but it's been a long time since I read one of the books and I don't really read the comics so I'm a little out of the loop sometimes but I still love Star Wars.
You should see the remastered version of this short film they revamped the music with a Star Wars music and added voices to the characters in spots. The sound effects are clearer, and they improved the image quality, too. They did a 4K update but it has voices from the movies and games and sounds odd IMHO.
So, if you haven't seen it yet, there's a TIE Fighter Remastered on RUclips. Basically, it's this exact same video, except another fan decided to change the background rock music into Star Wars Movie soundtracks, and you get dialogue from the movies (and perhaps, games) for those scenes where you could see the characters talking. It was an extremely well-done re-edit, and makes for a distinctly different viewing experience.
Yes this is true, Rebels had the first CANON instance of an interdictor cruiser using its abilities, but I’m fairly certain this anime predates Star Wars Rebels by at least two years
What I like about this one was that, this vid shows the badassery of the empire. When they do things right. You can’t be a serious enemy by just being cannon fodder.
Man, if this was turned into an anime...with at least one, or two seasons....I would be all in! It definitely reminds me of Gundam. Has some of the same animation styles. And who wouldn't wanna watch a Star Wars inspired anime, about the naval engagements...in a galaxy far, far away.
Super Surprised you hadn't seen it as it's been out for 4-5 year-ish. Fans have been BEGGING Brian to please do maybe not a full length feature but definitely a 30 - 60 minute long one. Or have Lucusfilm help produce (read pay) for a mini-series.
Do a review on the Imperials Strike Back. First fanfilm ever made (until proven otherwise) by a bunch of kids, and they had a fantastic understanding of storytelling and concepts.
Oh, TIE Bombers are absolutely magnificent! Even back in my years of playing Star Wars: TIE Fighter, I used to take out Mon Calamari Cruisers with my TIE Bomber. The mission brief says that a Mon Cal's among the enemy forces? Just load my TIE Bomber with a full complement of Heavy Rockets before launch, circle way out behind the Mon Cal, disable all the rear turrets with my ion cannons, then duo-link my Heavy Rockets, fly right up the Mon Cal's tailpipe, dump six rockets in rapid succession and try not to smack into the exploding wreckage on my way through. 😈 I named my TIE Bomber "Jack the Giant Killer" for that reason. TIE Interceptors are great for killing starfighters (at least until the more advanced TIE craft show up), but if you want to kill a capital ship, the TIE Bomber is your best friend. 😎
For what I know he don’t have a way to have audio actors for the voices that’s why do you see the mouth open like they talking bad that’s why he put the music because I know he’s very Spenseth Tamez something like that I had to pay for actors yeah but man it’s very cool I like you
Funny you should mention Robotech. Someone had taken this short film and made a Robotech style opening with it. As for suggestions, have you watched "Bounty Trail"? It's a Boba Fett fan film. Kind of campy, but fun since it's supposed to be told from the perspective of a Star Wars comic book. It has that whole "Hercules" and "Xena" feel to it (produced around the same time).
