I have lived in 6 countries and in every one there is a common theme-nobody likes the healthcare system. Nobody. The problem is, people think of it as a personal service when it’s really a public good. That means it needs to be treated like taxes, not what you “get out of it” for your euro. The fact that a hospital saves your bus driver and people like him/her means your buses run smoothly etc..

Hey, ya that is true, its a socialized system and gives many benifits to many people. But as I said in the video, I am just talking from my own personal experience and there are people who get great service in Germany, while in India the system can be harsh especially for poor people. But in my personal experience, I always prefer waiting for the time I go back to India to get a doctors consultation. I hope you understand where I am coming from :)

Everyone has a different feeling, which I don't like as a German. Summer is too changeable, tax returns are too unfair, the rich can calculate the tax with a tax citizen almost to 0 but the simple worker or the middle class has a hard time. Ok, if you have 60,000 euros you can buy real estate, take out a loan and deduct it. I would find the tax system fairer if everyone paid their taxes according to their income and could no longer deduct anything, but the taxes were a little lower.
I think it would be better if more start-ups were supported. I think our school system is outdated, children have to learn by heart and are not supported individually, I like the school systems in the Nordic countries better.
I think it's outdated if you're not allowed to hang out laundry on Sundays in some areas, I can understand that you don't want to hear loud noises, like mowing the lawn or a drill, especially if you're sitting nicely in the garden with neighbors, but hanging out laundry doesn't make any loud noises. I think we could be a bit more polite to strangers and not always think they want to hurt us, complain, etc.

@@Divyansh_Sharma05They grew up differently, in India the gap between rich and poor is so wide. You were born on the sunny side in a richer family, others in poverty. It's just luck where you are born, they were just lucky. We are all human beings and if you look at the countries where there is less of a social system, it seems to me to be worse for the people who earn less, they are the first to fall by the wayside when inflation rises and then live on the streets or in tents or cars. We are not perfect either and can learn something from the Nordic countries such as Denmark, Norway and Finland.

Most Christian holidays (including Sunday) here are recognized as either national or regional public holidays. The limited number of 24/7 stores is largely due to strong worker protections and efforts to support small businesses. Germany places a high value on maintaining a healthy work-life balance.
Regarding your concerns about the healthcare system, I found some aspects a bit unclear. Typically, you contribute around 7% to 8% of your salary toward public healthcare, with a cap at a contribution of €66,600 annually. If you're dissatisfied with the public system, there's always the option of private healthcare. I might have misunderstood, but it seemed like you were comparing healthcare costs in India and Germany, suggesting that India is cheaper despite paying a similar amount (500€-1000€). Could you clarify?
I know it sounds mean, but your criticisms 1-4 kind of come across as a complaint, that you have to do your part to keep society as a whole going, instead of being able to just focus on your own wellbeing.
As for political extremism, I agree that it's a concern in Germany. However, I believe you are misrepresenting Germany's multi-party coalition system compared to a two-party system. Multi-party systems are generally better at preventing extremism, as fringe parties tend to remain small and less influential. It’s interesting that you mentioned the U.S. system as a counterexample, given the significant shift toward extremes in recent years, particularly with the Republican Party under Trump. This contrast highlights some of the strengths of the German system in filtering out extremist elements.

Thank you for a respectful and rational answer. I'll try to put my point.
Regarding the costs in India, I meant to say 500-1000 Rupees (5 - 10Euros), not euros. That was a mistake on my side and I partially corrected it by writing the correction on screen at that moment.
Ya, they are meant as criticism. While there is plenty I like about this country, these are the points that underwhelm me. I get what you mean by keeping the society together, but I think many people are just exploiting the social benifits they get, when they are perfectly capable of taking responsibility on their own. Although I have certainly been a benificiary of state funded education, I don't feel like you get as much back as you are paying in taxes, comparing to some other developed countries. But that's just my opinion, you may disagree.
I agree with that, this prevents the exteme fractions from getting into power. But in real life (or in my comment sections) you can sometimes feel the presence of those supporters, and that's what I meant. Apart from that I agreed in the video that this system works well. In the US, there is polarisation but even on republicans side they are very supportive of legal immigrants, unlike some AfD leaders, who theoratically would only be against illegal ones but as the leak of their 'masterplan' revealed, they don't want immigrants of any sort.
Anyway, it was great to read a nice and rational comment instead of aggression, thank you for that :)

In India, you pay 30 percent tax for the middle class with good pay and 18% to 28% GST on all the goods and services. And you get what ? Potholes on the roads, collapsing bridges, leaking Parliament, garbage-filled streets, flooded streets, and pavements with an air quality index of 500 (Delhi NCR)? Is that what you want to get back for the 30-50 percent total direct and indirect tax you pay? In India, you give a lot and get nothing in return. It is simply looting; it is not progressive. Do your research beforehand.

You're young, of course you're healthier. My personal opinion, I prefer solidarity, for example, I don't want 40,000 million people in the USA who don't have health insurance and are dependent on the charity of doctors. We are all human beings, selfishnessOur health insurance is a solidarity-based system, which I think is actually fair. I'm in a wheelchair as a result of an accident, imagine having to bear the costs yourself. We also have a lot of preventive check-ups to detect illnesses as early as possible. All refugees who come here also get check-ups without paying into the system. Unfortunately, we also have too few doctors, especially in some rural areas.
What bothers me as a German is that doctors have no empathy and don't think outside the box, because with a healthier diet many diseases could be avoided, such as coronary heart disease and diabetes 2. We Germans don't eat as healthily as many Indians, too much meat, oil, butter, margarine, fatty sausages, convenience products. I go to an Ayurvedic doctor myself and pay for it myself, if that doesn't help, the school comes first.

Thank you for the nice comments. I respect your opinions.
But in my opinion such high taxes and regulations may be good for a short term and provide everyone a high standard of living. But in the long term the presence of such high taxes damages the economy and as we are already seeing, the purchasing power of a European is decreasing at a fast rate as compared to the US and less socialized countries.
If this trend continues, the economy will keep getting worse, the talent will go to the countries where they are better rewarded, and it will have a huge negative impact on all the social systems.

Yes, bureaucracy is annoying. But I feel Germany gets better with digitalisation. Smaller cities are better here than bigger ones. About tax and health care contributions I don´t agree. It is a social system and I think overall it is fair. Selfish societies have a lot of problems which are worse than paying extra. When you are very sick or in need you will appreciate it. Also you get a lot for your taxes. I guess you studied in germany, so you know what I am talking about. About extremism. yes it is annoying, but certainly less than in most other countries. India is not a model here. Germany is much better in this regard. Over all Germany seems quite okay to live in.

I agree, overall Germany is a pretty good place to live in, that's why I stayed here after my studies. These are just the underwhelming aspects in my opinion.
And I don't think we get back enough for what we pay in taxes, but I understand that a huge part of it goes in helping others in need.
And in my opinion Germany has a more extreme political fraction than most countries. But the good part is that they have almost no chance of getting in power.
Anyway, thank you for your opinion, really appreciate that :)

I am also afraid of the AFD, they protect hatred and discord with lies, just like Trump does in the USA. I think the AFD in Germany is worse because Hitler came to power because of such populist statements when there was an economic crisis, I would never have thought it possible that the AFD would get so much support again, where today, unlike in the past, everyone can inform themselves. Of course immigration has to be regulated, which is now being done by the EU.

Not getting much of it can easily change at any time; you never know when you got in to an accident or a diagnosis of cancer. But the peace of mind that you get is not the situation here in India. If you are in the middle class and you get a diagnosis of cancer, you will go bankrupt even though you pay 30 percent in tax. Its as simple as that. Please do research before making videos and comments on the health system of India.

Yes exactly, I know that this can happen and that is why I mentioned in the video that these things can change as I age, but for a young guy who thankfully hasn't got a cancer diagnosis, it has been very expensive and frustrating. But I umderstand that this system helps many people as well, like I mentioned in the video.

I had an accident when I was 19 and suffered paraplegia, I'm really glad that I live in such a social system, because today I need aids every month that I wouldn't be able to pay for if the health insurance didn't pay for them. Or look at how many young people are getting cancer now. Of course you can do a lot better to relieve the burden on health insurance companies if more emphasis were finally placed on a healthy diet, because then there would be less diabetes, coronary heart disease and fewer other diseases such as cancer. There is so much to do with nutrition. Most old people over the age of 60 have to take medication just because they have been eating the wrong food all their lives. If they were better educated and given incentives to eat more healthily, they could. Doctors would be good doctors again
