      Agreed. As someone who struggles with social anxiety, I found this really helpful.

    I love meaningful conversation because now I understand why I don't feel any desires to just say "thank you".

    This is an excellent talk. Every time I implement a component taught here, it improves my connection. It also helps with social anxiety.

    Hello Mr. Horn, I had a wild idea that I could facilitate an art studio at Google. I am an art teacher. I don't believe there is a standard avenue to apply for such a job, but I imagine that my studio would be popular, as would the art shows. If by some bizzare stroke of serendipity, you can see my vision and believe it would be a very good thing AND can put me in touch with someone that could make it happen...Bang, it could happen. Thanks, Mark

    Overall a good discussion on being authentic and meaningful communications. Just wished it was more intersectional tbh. Women quite often get compliments that can make them think “ewww”. Minorities at times use code switching in communications to retain jobs, etc.

      Thanks for the feedback. Would you mind providing some practical things Andrew could have done to make this talk more inclusive for people of diverse backgrounds?

    Yikes...The pain of mediocrity. Google needs to set the bar considerably higher. And please refrain from calling everybody "guys" in an audience of men and women. I guess that's the outcome of the sports bro culture we've all been subjected to.

      It was a good talk, though maybe not as politicly correct as you might have liked. So what if he refers to the audience as "guys"? what's the harm in that?

    • @ccburro1
      @ccburro1 2 года назад

      Perhaps (?) because of where I grew up, NJ, I have always viewed the use of “guys” as she’s and he’s when talking to a group (“you guys”)-as equivalent to the “you all” in the South. But I do realize that many people don’t view it like that and it would have been better if he didn’t use that term.
