Just tried to create this for me and my wife. I used carrot and red peppers instead of green. Instant-hit! Awesome taste. It tastes a bit like larb-moo which is a thai dish, but this one's easier to make. I love how the starch blends the textures. Delicious!
Yummy! I tried it tonight, but did some variations, as there was no lemon grass in my fridge. To pimp it a little bit up, I took the juice of half a lime fruit, roasted some peanuts together with the seed of 15 cardamom capsules. Spiced it up with the powder of homegrown habanero chili (sooo fruity). Great taste, thank you dear Marion.
Every one of your recipes that I've tried thus far has turned out deliciously, and I've actually made all of them more than once. I can't wait to try more! I appreciate your understanding that people don't want to/can't spend hours in the kitchen everyday, but still want really good food. Your recipes are the epitome of minimal effort for maximal reward, your enthusiasm is completely infectious and inspiring, and the production value of your videos is a pleasure for the eyes and ears. Amazing work.
Delicious! I followed the recipe faithfully but, being sensitive to overly sweet food, I halved brown sugar to 1T -- this brought caramel and enough sweetness to the dish. Also, for extra coIor and flavor, I added halved carrot coins at the start of the cook and a small bunch of chopped Thai basil with the other aromatics. Will make again! Thanks, Marion!
Who else give a thumbs up before watching the video because you know this was going to be sooo good! I'm making this tomorrow Marion, already have all the ingredients. Just bought those green peppers too from the Asian supermarket❤❤
Your cooking is amazing, cooking is one of my passion every time I cooked your recipe’s it’s always complimented… thanks for all the recipe’s that you shared…
Just made it last night. Served it with fried eggs and squeeze lime juice.. Super delicious! And yes super fast and easy.. Thanks Marion!! Sweet regards from Danang 😘
I made this today. I took Marion's advice and cooked all of the liquid away. It created this intense pork flavor that was so delicious. The little crispy bits of pork were amazing.
Iam forever learning and trying out your lovely dishes. They are so easy yet super delicious. I also love your style your glasses and lipstick colour. Thank you for being a great teacher.
Thanks Marion! Made this tonight with my kids. Was a bit too spicy for my daughter, but I left the chilli seeds in. My son and I loved it! So easy and satisfying, comfort in a bowl. Another of your recipes tomorrow night too, the lemongrass chicken. Such a great cooking channel.
This looks wonderful! You never cease to amaze me with your recipes, clear and concise instructions and visual presentation since we eat with our eyes first! ^~^
Lemongrass is so easy to grow. Just plant a bit from what you buy, and it'll grow in no time. My mom grows one in the front yard and she always tells the neighbors that they may come and pick some when needed. :)
@@sunflowerbaby1853 well I can't give an exact estimate since usually it's just randomly planted. But as long as you still have a bit of roots and bulbs, I suppose around 20 to 30 cm or so, you'll be fine. Just plant one or two pieces from the ones you buy. I don't think my mom gives a special care to it more than watering it and trim the leaves when the bushes are getting too thick and untidy.
@@sunflowerbaby1853 oh right, and I read that if there is no root on the bulb, you'll need to soak it in water for several days until some roots come out before putting it into soil.
For any one who finds it hard to get a hold of lemon grass. You can get them in the freezers at Tong Li. They usually come in a packet of 20 stalks. I always have them in my freezer and they keep forever.
Hey marion in India Especially in south we use deep fry that green chilli in a seasoned gram flour batter. It tastes soo delicious with Indian tea or coffee
Hello Marion, all way from England. Love your video. I made this recipe but added a little something something, I added gochujang and extra chillies. Just delish.
Tomorrow would be my 2nd time cooking this dish!! We just love the taste. Thank you Marion for all your wonderful recipes...I always cook your dishes ..💓💓💓
Subscribed to your channel for a little less than 6 months now and I've reached fan level 'go shopping and pick up interesting looking Thai or Chinese ingredients and just come home and look up a suitable recipe on Marion's kitchen' because you never fail to inspire. Made this for dinner tonight.........yummmy yummmy it was soooo good and ridiculously quick. Once again Marion you shine. So good to see your back in australia 👍😋😉
I made this last week. Not quite sure if I liked it at first because I expected something quite different, but I found myself in the kitchen finishing up the leftovers at bedtime 😂
Stir fry cabbage (garlic powder, salt/boullion) and put this recipe on top for a good meal w/vegetables. Also, oyster sauce for dark soy sauce is good too. Great easy recipe. Love your dinner boxes too! :)
Made this last night. Omitted some of the things you added for heat since I used spicy sausage, but man, all that caramelized goodness on each piece of pork was delicious!
I’d like to thank you very very very much, Marion, for your wonderful cooking channel and all your easy but delicious recipes 💐💐💐 you have changed my life and I am cooking more thanks to you 😊 I also love your elegant and very clear way of speaking and your beautiful and stylish clothes. You are really the Best cook to me !
I'm a massive fan of yours so I always check your recipes before I plan our meals for the week. Made this one tonight and it was so, so yummy! We'll be adding it into our regular rotation of recipes 😋. Thank you 💗
Marion, can we go to the market and supermarket with you for one of your videos? I'd love to see what you see everyday in Thailand. That would be so cool.
I just made this and it’s AMAZING!! I added a couple of handfuls of shredded carrots just before it was finished to get some veggies into the kids. They loved it! This recipe is definitely going into my quick dinner pile. Thanks, Marion!
Chop: Lemon grass finely Onion white Green chillies Fry Add Garlic Fry Add oil Pork mince - brown Add Brown sugar & fish sauce Dark soy sauce Cook for 10 mins Cornflour and water Black pepper Red chillies and coriander for garnish
Those green chillies you found in your supermarket last night, can I substitute those? Any capsicum related produce don’t agree with. What can I substitute for those please? Looking forward to your reply…. This dish looks absolutely delicious ❤️
I’ve been wary of adding too much fish sauce to the dishes but this turned out well. Was surprised that I didn’t have to add light soy sauce. Kid approved (sans chilli). 😉
I wish I could do that whole make up a recipe on the fly thing like you do. At least I married someone who can. We can eat beef mince 99 days in a row and never eat the same thing twice. You're geniuses. Do you test the recipes first or just dive in and film straight away?
Hi Marion, I would like to try this dish out but would like to add maybe chopped snake beans or french beans to the dish. What would be the best stage to add the veggies in? I was thinking before adding in the mince meat?
You really cannot sub lemongrass with anything else - it's just an amazing aroma. However, this dish can be made without lemongrass. Just look up the bun thit nuong or Vietnamese noodle bowl recipes. You can make it with other proteins, too. If you live in the US, hit up your Asian grocer. I bet Whole Foods has it. And during winter or early spring months, buy a few fresh stalks of lemongrass and root it in water to be planted outside. They grow like crazy so you can harvest a bunch at the end of summer and freeze them. They freeze really well, too, either whole or minced up.
The earrings match her skin tone so closely I keep thinking her ears are gaged haha. BTW, I absolutely love the food you make. Watching any of you videos is just such a tranquil moment of my day. Your voice is so soothing and your food looks just absolutely phenomenal.
Either I am wrong or you but I don't remember I have such dish :) The only thing I have ever eaten or cooking at home is lemongrass chicken. This could be your creative by using all the ingredients and spices that you have known. If I am right, then why not name this as Marion's lemongrass ground pork.
