- I came to Somaliland! Technically it's own country with it's own money and flag however still not recognised officially. According to the UN and other government stuff it's still part of Somalia. Well, I came to see what it was all about.

i am a somalilander and that happened to me for real i was pissed off because of the bag.
There was a war going on in Somalia, and they separated, Somali-land is supposed to be the safe part of the formal country, and Somalia is the dangerous part, with pirates and all that nonsense. Ben, since you're close, you absolutely need to hit Sudan (not South Sudan). Legend has it that in Sudan lives the friendliest people on Earth. It is also one of the cheapest countries in the entire continent, and people are extremely kind and welcoming, zero theft and ripping off tourists. My bad that I didn't mention Sudan when you were in Ethiopia. Cheers!
