I was 9 years old living next to that park, I remember sitting on my windowsill listening to this concert, I had no idea who Radiohead were, I don't remember if I liked the music at the time. By the time I was 15 they were my favourite band. They still hold that title. Funny how life is.
Radiohead has great humor.
Boris is resigning and here Radiohead published "The National Anthem."
I thought the same! ☺
This song was the National Anthem during lockdown times , it helped me to hold on.💜🐱
Ha ha! I never clocked that. Funny.
yeah but, being honest.. 2+2=5 was also for the labour party. our "democracies" just dismantled tthemselves with obvious dialectic conditioning and obvious executions..
All rise for our national anthem
Kereeeennn
Kid A is still one of the greatest albums ever today
Pitchfork gave it a 10/10
Agree
For many fans though it isn’t even their favourite Radiohead album. It just shows how many incredible albums they have
@@Drenwickification exactly what I was going to say;)
based:
Born in 2003, grew up on Radiohead from my dad. I remember dancing in the living room to the “there there” music video. Always been my favorite band. My first tattoo was the amnesiac crying robot. Always will be my favorite band. Radiohead- you’ve been there for my highest and lowest, and you will continue to be there for the more that will come. Words can’t express the love and appreciation I have for this band. Just thank you.
Hey my first tattoo was inspired by Radiohead too!
my dad would play no surprises for me to fall asleep, grew up on them from him too
Same here, plus born the same year! We live around Oxford too so it’s always been extra special listening to them growing up :)
That's amazing 👏
2003 was the same year that I saw Radiohead live for the first time on the Hail to the Thief tour
Wow. My first tattoo is the same lol
I was there, with friends from uni, us all dressed in bin bags to protect us from the rain. Beck supported, playing stuff from the as yet unreleased Sea Change, which didn’t go down well, but I loved it, especially when he played stuff off Mutations. Radiohead blew him away anyway - the end of Paranoid Android, in the rain, in Oxford - glorious!
Wow interesting. Mutations and Sea Change are albums I have really dug recently. I guess they maybe have grow on a lot of people over the years.
@@mercurialmagictrees seachange is just incredible.
It was my first taste of Sigur-Ros that day. Embarrassed to say I thought Jonsi's singing was silly in the moment. But since then they've become one of my other favourite bands of all time. What a day it was. The rain in Paranoid Android was too perfect.
@@MattBee84 the rain on How to disappear completely and fuckin Creep...
That finale with the rain will never leave me. Thankful to have been there.
My favorite Radiohead song ever, and that's saying a lot. It's great seeing this gig in high quality!
WOW -- 21 years ago, to the day exactly!! I was here!! Amazing. I remember Beck and Sigur Ros played too. PLEASE release the the whole Radiohead show, that would be incredible 💜
And Supergrass, and Humphrey Lyttleton playing jazz trumpet.
Radiohead AND sigur ros??? The dream 🥲
@@cilycwmmoths2565 oh yeah, humphrey lyttleton was there!
@@cilycwmmoths2565 and don’t forget Rock of Travolta
The soundboard audio is out there on the net - and even on YT someone has uploaded the original video webcast for the whole thing :) (video quality isn't as good as the above thoufh)
Greatest gig, please release the whole thing!
Yes please 🙏
The soundboard audio is out there on the net - and even on YT someone has uploaded the original video webcast for the whole thing :) (video quality isn't as good as the above thoufh)
Absolutely. A higher video quality upload would be amazing!
This song fn owned me at the show...
This and Morning Bell...
Suddenly I'm kinda sad...
Idk what I would do without THE SMILE...they soften the blow...peace...
I’ve been to several radiohead gigs around the world and missed out on this one because I was not in the UK at the time . My mates went to it and said it was great . Especially when it started to rain during paranoid android “ rain down on me “
I will NEVER FORGET hearing and seeing this song performed. October 1, 2000, Radiohead was the musical guest on SNL... I was absolutely mesmerized. They even had a live horn section, which was beyond next level. And then to watch the performance of Idioteque... I mean this will forever be remembered as the greatest musical performance ever on SNL. Tom was in another realm and it was beyond description. The following day October 2, 2000 Kid A was released and my entire conception of what music could be was forever changed. Best band in the world.
Kid A was released October 2, 2000. The SNL performance was October 14, 2000, so almost 2 weeks after it came out.
Well said. For me it was ok computer. That album still blows me away today.
no matter how many times I hear NA live, it pails into insignificance vs the SNL version..
I can only imagine how that felt. And to think I had a similar revelation 10 years later when they performed Lotus Flower on SNL. It's been a wonderful ride discovering their older music and enjoying their new material in the 11 years I've been a fan.
@@julianuary indeed you are correct that the year was 2000. My apologies. To all the young people out there please take note, this is what happens when you do drugs. ALOT of drugs. You don't want to have problems recalling things that happened in your life over 20 years ago, do you? Trust me you don't, its not worth it. Basically what I'm trying to tell you is: only use a MODERATE amount of drugs. Otherwise you'll end up like me, editing your YT comments because you incorrectly remembered things.
Was there! I’ve only ever seen low res black and white footage of this show so this is amazing to see and hopefully more to come! Punch Up At A Wedding was written in response to a reviewer of this show who pissed on their parade lol. I remember standing next to Robert Carlyle at one point, he’d had a few and was singing along to Karma Police at the top of his lungs with a ciggy in his mouth. Good times.
The National Anthem is one of those songs that just takes you to a whole other universe.
i agree dog from raditude.
im also glad that i always see you in the comments of videos i watch even though i dont even listen to weezer. you are a true legend.
One of many Radiohead songs that are able to do that. Exit Music, HTDC, Nude, Idioteque, Subterranean Homesick Alien, Videotape, Codex, Everything In It's Right Place, Dollars and Cents, and Sail To The Moon are songs that make you forget about anything else while listening to them
@@ASZN_MAN also Pyramid Song, No Surprises, Daydreaming, Planet Telex, Faust Arp, In Limbo, All I Need, Tinker Tailor Soldier Sailor, I can go on. Few other bands can make music that you can just get lost in quite like Radiohead.
This is why you are the best band ever, and my favorite band above all...
Thank you, Radiohead!!!
and thx for ur post on radiohead live also mate!
@@danialafiq8596 :) it's an honor
Smashed it
That's what she said
Come back Radiohead!!
they're probably busy with the smile lol
I love Radiohead
I always love seeing jonny tinkering with the radio
Hey you should look up The Doublejumps if you like Radiohead. They're a band from New Zealand
Please release the whole show!!! This is incredible!
The soundboard audio is out there on the net - and even on YT someone has uploaded the original video webcast for the whole thing :) (video quality isn't as good as the above though)
Full set please!!!! One of the greatest gigs I ever went to. 10 mins walk from my shared uni house
Second this

Man I love your music. Timeless
The energy of the crowd is AMAZING!!
no smartphones. bliss
A few weeks after this show I saw Radiohead play at Liberty State Park, a mere few weeks before 9/11..... The album almost forecast a tectonic shift in our world.... KID A!
A fitting moment to release the performance of this one particular song
rise and join the anthem of the machine
"It's holding on, it's holding on."
"Shame on you, blue-eyed fox."
Thom is just in a trance there at the end. Love it!
Badass. I love them with all my heart.
I can believe my eyes. It is just a perfect performans
I grew up on classic rock, I listened to cds my dad had but I’ll never forget discovering Radiohead and listening to Kid A for the first time and then again and again, what an album, what a musical experience, it just broke new ground in rock music
Todo es hermoso con radiohead
Fantastic performance of a legendary song.
I hope we get to see some more footage from this gig. Been waiting over 20 years for it!
Maybe one of the best performances of The National Anthem
Please share more from this show. One of the most legendary shows and I've always wished I had gone. Thank you for this!
The best band to ever do it! Their work is brilliant and life changing. Thank you Radiohead
Glad too see this type of drops 🫶
Wonderful song, wonderful performance.
God, I love this band. I’ve been spinning this album since it came out.
My first listen to this song and already love it. Iconic band and a smashing live gig from 21 years ago. Wow!!
Love Radiohead!!
Woah woah woah there. Please tell me the whole thing exists?!
My favourite gig of all time.
Awesome!!!!
We love u Radiohead 💃
Oh man I remember this so well. The torrential downpour was perfect
One of the best concerts I have been to. Beck, Supergrass, Sigur Rós, and more opened to an absolutely beautiful Radiohead set. Feels like yesterday. How has it been 21 years?
So great to see good footage of this! Was an amazing day, despite the rain.
The best band of ever
There wont be a better band in my lifetime (or anyone's for that matter).
I'm inclined to agree
21 years ago. Wow. I was there and it was fantastic. I didn't get Kid A / Amnesiac until hearing the songs live. I'm glad Creep closed the concert.
this song is my favorite from kid a, its so awesome
Thank you for this please please go on tour asap 💙
I’m there somewhere ✌🏼
Seventeen years old and absolutely obsessed with Radiohead- high fiving my friends to the first notes of every song.
I Love Radiohead 😎🎸🤟
Forever
I Love Tom York
I was there. One of the most important gig experiences of my life.
My favorite Kid A song.
yay! love this video ❤️
Having seen them in Vaison la Romaine in May and in Oxford in July the same year. Was 20 at that time. Could not be better...
Our National Anthem❤️❤️
Apparently, this set was only 400m from Phillip’s door. He said “I never quite saw that park the same again.”
Más de 20 años disfrutando esta canción en su versión en vivo, es una de las cosas más maravillosas que me ha tocado vivir.
i love how when thom queues the band at 1:22 the audience think he's hyping up and they all get their hands up and cheer
Thanks for the reminder, what an amazing day that was- memories flooding back of riding home, wet through but so satisfied! It was a month after I had the privilege of being at the Jools Holland for the special show there. One of the greatest summers of my life.
Ahaha love It!
God bless you, guys.
Le groupe le plus important de notre époque et le seul !
NO WAY THEY UPLOADED THIS CONCERT HIGH QUALITY I WAS THERE
I like how the live version sounds kinda more like Bodysnatchers.
this song is awesome
upload the full concerts damn it, or send them and I'll improve them 😈
amazing homecoming gig
One day Radiohead will open up the warmhole with that powerful frequency. And after time travel will finally be possible. Hehe ❤.
I was there. Best gig of my life.
Now THAT is how to start my morning. 👍🏼
Ahora siii. AHORA SIII 🖤🖤🖤🖤

I saw Radiohead around this time at Blossom Music Center in Cleveland Ohio...front row..in front of it all !! Best concert ever !!

I remember this like it was yesterday!! What an awesome day!
When people mention they don't like Radiohead, my mind just gimbal locks. Thanks for sharing!
That was such a great gig: Supergrass, Beck and Radiohead.
Hey you should look up The Doublejumps if you like Radiohead. They're a band from New Zealand
I remember going to this gig.. It rained during paranoid android... And I remember thinking I can't wait to watch the full gig back in HD... Still can't to this day😭
Its great to get some footage from the south park show, awesome gig apart from the rain. a day to remember
amazing.
Woah, look how proud your hometown is of you guys.
The big banners with the lil crying imp guy on both sides go hard af
Still the first gig that pops into my mind in *favourite ever* conversations
Leggendaria e ancora sorprendente! Grazie Radiohead ♥️
One of the best bands to ever exist
Great song.

Please come back to Oxford, im at uni there and would love to see you guys play in Southpark again!
What a trip
I was at this gig! I didn't know there was video footage of it! More please! 😁
So clean 🧼
Saw them two weeks before this at Red Rocks. This tour was them at the top of their game, their most visceral. They continued to be great in different ways, but those summer 2001 shows were the metamorphosis to everything after.
I'm a fan I love them
