FD3/64 Gas turbine running

- Hi all this is my home built kurt schreckling FD3/64 with revised compressor wheel and combustion chamber, this is its first run since I've owned it as I had a few issues with bearings and turbine housing, I did not build this engine it was a gift a few years back please let me know what you guys think thanks for viewing.
Massive thumbs up for getting it to run - I built mine about 15years ago and it sustained on 2nd attempt. The thrill is impossible to describe :)
Don't know who gifted this engine to you, but the build quality is excellent.
Hi Craig a safer oil to use is Mobil DTE light oil, think it's made for ground base turbine generators not got any of the nasty stuff in. .
Nice example of one of the first truly homebrew micro-turbojets. Congrats on getting 'er kicking :)

Hi Craig keep it under 5 psi ,will be in safe limit .try ebay for (Wholesale Lot 10 Bearings 688ZZ 8x16x5 Ceramic Shielded)
steel race, ceramic balls £40 for 10. you must remove shields on each side to let air through .did you repair the damage ?,you need to be very slow turning the paraffin on ,soon as you hear it reach the engine hesitate for a few seconds then slowly advance the fuel again. Nice to see it going.
reedy93 hi Chris hope your doing well, yea I used a bearing race tool to push the turbine housing back to where it should be, I'm going to replace bearings again as the ones I put it to test are standard, just getting use to the fuel like you say, 9 years and it finally runs

What is diameter of your compressor wheel?
Are you using a ECU for this run? What fuel pump are you using? A nice classic engine.
TheHalloweenmasks hi there no Ecu all manual using needle valves, fuel pump is a small gear pump from eBay
Actually I am making fd3 . could you tell me please that the book say to use 608bearing which dimension is 8*16*5 . Could I use 8*22*5 dimension bearing it's few large than? Sorry for bad English.
andrew dokgan hi in my opinion it would depend on the scale your building as using a bigger bearing would change the NGV size I’m not an expert in these I’m afraid

I used 608 in my fd3, I made the bearing tube to suit.
