Just bought my first keyboard! I chose s500 since I think the amount of different sounds it can produce will make learning a lot of fun. Some of them remind me of old game soundtracks! Thank you mr Kono :)
Love your channel, liked and subscribed! I'm a guitar player who wants to learn a little bit about piano just to keep my mind working (I'm 64) and love the simplicity of the CT-S1 but I'm wondering if the lack of a display screen will be frustrating. I am considering the CT-S500 and that is why I love this video. Right now (April 2024) the difference in price here in the States between the CT-S1 ($219) and the CT-S500 ($349) is only $130 which is not a big deal for me. I know that I wouldn't use a lot of the functionality of the CT-S500, at least right away or maybe ever, which I'm fine with but just wonder if all the functionality might be too confusing, if that makes sense. Thanks.
Thank you for your comment♪ I also like the simplicity of the S1, but I still can't get used to the action of pressing the keyboard while holding down FUNCTION. In that respect, I think the S500 is very good, including the richness of tones.☺
Yes♪ I haven't carefully considered the output from headphones with speakers in the same way as line out, but I feel that the sound quality is almost the same♪ Thank you!!
I like your channel. I think your playing and reviews are awesome. I have a question. Do Casio CTS keyboards and Yamaha PSR E373 have similar Rec and Loop play function as PSS A50?
The Casio CT-S1000V is equipped with a 6-track MIDI recorder, but loop playback is not possible. The Yamaha PSR-E373 has a 2-track MIDI recorder and a loop function for the specified section (points A and B), but it cannot be easily looped like the "SHIFT + PLAY" of the PSS-A50. thank you.
If connecting to external speakers, are the piano sounds the same for CTS-1 and CTS-500? You said that CTS-500 sounds are more brilliant with internal speakers, can a different EQ setting make it more like CTS-1? I like CTS-1 design but prefer the interface of CTS-500. Still deciding.
When listening with external speakers (Phone Out, Line Out), I think the S1 and S500 piano sample sound sources are the same, but for some reason, the S1 feels closer to the real Rose nuances, especially in the electric piano. . But if you often use it with LineOut, the S500, which is equipped with a LineOut terminal, would be better.
Is it ppssible that maybe one of the assignable knobs was assigned to the Low Pass Filter Cutoff frequency and maybe the CT-S1000V's Cutoff knob was set to 10% lower amount compared to the CT-S1's default unchangable-cutoff-setting? And maybe that made the CT-S1000V sound a little more bright/brilliant?
@@paulyllow The CT-S1000V I bought (similar to S500 in tone and accompaniment style) likes the additional sounds that aren't in the CT-S1. However, I prefer the CT-S1 for piano sounds (especially Mellow Piano).
Hello♪ I think you can connect the CT-S1 to a PA system at a bar or salon. However, if you insert the stereo mini plug into the CT-S1's PHONES, you will not be able to hear the sound from the CT-S1's speakers. Also, the stereo mini jack is not very strong, so you need to be careful when plugging and unplugging it frequently.☺
For piano performances that use a lot of the sustain function in automatic accompaniment, you may feel that 48 polyphony is not enough. But in that case 128 polyphony might be needed. In my usage, 48 polyphony has never felt lacking ♪
@@pisderata I feel that the sound of the s400 does not resemble the sound of the S1, especially the piano sounds. If you value piano sounds, I recommend the S1. Just for reference, I compared the automatic accompaniment functions of the S400 and S500 (S1000V) and confirmed with the manufacturer that the S400 only recognizes basic chords, so I purchased the S1000V. Thank you!
The difference between 48 polyphony and 64 polyphony is that when you play auto accompaniment and then apply sustain to the piano, you may experience issues such as the sound cutting out. I feel that the biggest difference between the 400 and 500 is the difference in the types of chords that can be recognized by the auto accompaniment. The 500 can recognize a wider range of chords, including tension notes.✨
This is hands down the best keyboard channel on RUclips. Your videos make me feel happy, mr. Kono.
