Yes, they’re legit playing the instruments! wonder girls has had the most interesting GG transitioning of kpop imo. They went from vocal dance group to learning instruments and ultimately incorporating playing musical instruments into their choreo. You should watch “I Feel You” to get what I mean. They had multiple member change, the first rapper in “Irony” is Hyuna, but she left wonder girls and joined 4minute and now is a legendary soloist. After which the iconic drummer/rapper Yubin replaced her. Sunmi left too, in order to pursue her studies and then joined the group again at the end.

I always thought Hyuna had gone before any recordings. Hard to tell it is her on the video, but could hear it was her by the rap. 4Minute was the ones that got me into K-Pop.

And of course they launched 2 of the most success solo artists in kpop ever…Sunmi (3:32), as you know & also Hyuna (4:33 the rapper)! All of their music is so damn good & I actually use Why So Lonely (among a few other songs) in my discussions with people who come with the “all kpop music sounds the same” argument. Fun fact…they opened for the Jonas Bothers world tour on their North American swing…the JB asked them to open the entire tour but they ended up doing I think something like 35 dates with them.
I think you'll LOVE Yeeun's (now known as Ha:tfelt) discography, she is one of the best korean soloists on my opinion, she's the one with pink hair and also Yubin (the rapper from why so lonely that you liked) is also a great soloist, I love their songs. Wonder Girls went through a few lineup changes over the life of the group. And their last incarnation was as a 4 person band, all playing the instruments. In 2014 sunmi rejoined the group and started switching their concept to band and created reboot album w/c was considered as thr album of the decade.(you need to react to it). Why so lonely is their 2nd to the last song after disbandment. They're a 1st balot HoF kpop GG. They were also hailed as like the nations GG before they left the US to promote there. If twice had LoA, cheer up, TT trilogy and created cheerup craze, wondergirls had tell me, so hot, and nobody w/c created the tell me syndrome in korea and nobody was the first ever kpop act to enter the US bb hot100. Jyp got greedy and ventured the U.S. and everything went wrong from there, the market is not yet ready for kpop and he still pushed it. Jyo learned alot from that experience, but if jyp didnt do that, YS wouldnt have a glimpse of what kpop is so its still a win2. Lim, yeeun (ha:tfelt), yubin, and sunmi are the last members and are all amazing soloist, they're still close w/c other. 2 of the members are already married. All hail the wondergirls.
