- The music starts about 3 minutes in. I thought the whole thing was worth seeing. "Live" shows have changed so much. It's hard to imagine musicians coming on stage and tuning their own instruments.
"Beginnings" is from Chicago's first album and it was written and sung by Robert Lamm.
Enjoy!
What a beautiful timeless melody! Chicago forever 💪🏼🎸🇺🇲 Terry Kath lives in our hearts!
'77 was the height of my college band geek days. Chicago tunes were everything to us back then and certainly stand the test of time.
Chicago was and still is one of the best bands in the world! They are legendary!
You should take a listen to the Russian group Leonid and Friends. A great Chicago imitation group that actually sound better in certain ways
Love the band Chicago!! Especially with Terry Kath!!! Thanks for posting!!
Never heard/seen this one. I have been a fan since I was 68 .
Thanks.
Magnificent Masterpiece from Legendary Master Musicians, the most complete band of all time, very proud fan since 1968
22 year old fan since 2020!
@@thejmn1234 you made the right choice Justin, great music from Chicago
To have been there... I was 17...amazing musicians and vocalists...never see anything like them again
I was 14. Chicago was the very first album i bought. They are still my favorite group in 2020
Looks like they are on a high school stage lol
Saw them live Chicago Stadiun circa 1975ish. Incredible!
What an amazing collection of musical talent
Danny killing it leading into the second verse... unreal.
--What a drummer!
Love you Robert Lamm! oh what I would give to see you guys at Tanglewood!!!! such an incredible concert!. i was only a little kid but I watch it every day right here! 💞💞
Tanglewood is right. That's the "Beginnings take I listen and practice to.
My mind is completely blown! 😘
Wow. 2024, and lve just found this track. What an absolute corker!!!!
The first 3 minutes and 29 seconds of this was pure torture! Thankfully, Chicago Kid 1969 explained that back then, band members tuned up while on stage...
Terry’s rhythm playing on here was amazing!
TK is a beast rhythm player. Incredibly inventive!

Soy fans de Chicago
Damn Danny was hitting on all cylinders that night
I’ve always found it so cool how lighting and camera angles can make a small stage look huge. With the lights on it looks like a high school stage with the lights off it looks huge. ACL is kind of like that too. The stage is much smaller in person than it appears on tv.
I'm glad my sister turned me on to chicago back in the when I also was a teenager the 70 s terry kath was so soulful as Robert lamb the most awesome bass player with the voice and licks Jimi Hendrix commented on terry s. Ability on his guitar never looked at it Jimi Hendrix s wanted to play with Chicago this video is rare you will never get to appreciate real music like any of there songs fantastic group
awesome band
the drum rolls are so fast!!!!!
i think they have more of a jazz sound than a rock sound.
Will be seeing you again at Sangamon Auditorium in Springfield, IL May 8th, 2019! Has been awhile! Have always loved CHICAGO!
This is the REAL Chicago! Not the tribute band that's out today,
❤
I was 19 - the production was not that slick back then - gave time and space to almost feel the summer night air
Beginnings is a great tune. Should not EVER be played lazily... I expected the same as the album.
the solos were a bit lacking, still an awesome song.
Digging Walt's green suit
Hello 👋, how are you doing? Thanks for being a fans and loving my music God bless you and your family, hope you won't stop watching my movies
Why is it that one of Lamm's greatest songs was one of his earliest?
Полный улёт....
Was this at the Navy Pier during Chicago Fest?
does anyone know where this took place, I'm thinking germany, where i saw them in '77
ESSEN GERMANY 1977
Terry Kath dies and they never play _serious_ rock n roll again.

A very tired and weary band. But still great.
funny just them on tv they sound better then ever 2018 show the horn guys hold there notes longer
Very sloppy performance of BEGINNINGS 😢
Goddam it took 3 minutes 27 seconds to even start this song
You don't get it. This song is so much greater because it made you wait for them to cut loose. Anticipation is a good thing here.
