That belt grip detail is money 💰💰💰💰💰. Blocking the hip at the belt line with the top arm has been allowing me to recover guard with ease on some very good passers. Thank you professor. After doing bjj for a long time it’s rare that such an easy change makes such as huge difference

this is a game change 1000% you can use the same idea from top like when you are on top of a x guard or one leg x kind of thing, i will film another video using belt in different scenario BIG OSS

Just came across this video and wow, really impressive. The techniques aren’t over complicated, they’re easy to understand/straight to the point and it’s really helpful to see the defences to the different grips. Can’t wait to drill this tomorrow

The technique has made it easier for me stop the pass and get closed guard. There were a few times when I was able to get either an arm bar or triangle when they continued to push into me. I’m loving it.

This is brilliant. I have seen a lot of defenses, but would have never thought to block at the hips. Would this be considered a late defense? Do you still go for reverse de la riva for an early defense or do you go straight to this defense every time?
