its all fun and games until you explode to red mist
Samson's story is one of my favorites. Samson was one of the greatest warriors in history, given the gift of super human strength by god, the source of it being his hair. When the philistines discovered this, they devised a plan to have a girl named Delilah seduce him, and eventually give him a hair cut, stripping him of his power. When they captured Samson, they gouged out his eyes and beat him, before dragging him off as a prisoner and forcing him to mill grain as they went about setting things up for him to be sacrificed in a temple to Dagon, one of their false gods. Samson, however, never lost faith in his God, and on the day of his execution, he asked to rest for a moment upon one of the temple's pillars, which he was allowed to do after being chained to them. In those brief moments, he prayed to God to give him back his strength, so he may fight in his name one final time before returning to the Lord's Kingdom. After he prayed, his hair suddenly regrew, longer than it ever has been, and he returned stronger than ever. Despite being blind, he was able to free himself from his chains and kill some of the guards before acquiring a donkey's jawbone, the first "weapon" he could find, and as you said, proceeded to kill all 1000 philistine guards and soldiers in the temple with him. His strength and rage were so monstrous, that in the end, the very temple he was imprisoned in came crumbling down with him inside of it.

Epiphany is such a vanilla-feeling mod, and that's a very positive thing. I absolutely adore how this is balanced with synergies and the pillar throwing mechanic while also being very true to what a 100% melee Isaac character would play like- I remember Edmund saying once that he wanted to make Samson melee but with the room layouts it was difficult to find a way to kill certain enemies like the spiders on the walls that can hide behind pits, and the slam attack is the perfect solution.
Feels like even more epic and visceral version of Samael, love it! (also every version of Samson become more and more melee lol)

tough love as almost any other character is like spitting out teeth but as tarnished samson hes punching the teeth out of enemies witch is badass
I thought you could also use the razor to re-engage the arena - allowing for further your arena completion goal.
Also, yes, walking into the doors with Deliliah's Razor will open it up, you don't need to fake damage for it.
Great video, Sam is one of the funniest tarnisheds to unlock imho :D

I still think that Tranished Sanson wasn't as well crafted and didn't get as much attention as the other characters. they all have mechanics that involve the whole character and create more interesting mechanics, while sanson just seems to have a lot of unconnected mechanics. I don't think the character is bad, on the contrary, until it matches the character's own history and his alternative version
Hi! I’d recommend playing the character for yourself! It might not seem like it at first glance, but every mechanic weaves into each other when playing at an advanced level.

Согласен, и ведь до чего уместно то: хошь персонажа известного тем что убил тысячу филистимлян? Убей тысячу филистимлян в эпичной аниме битве, метая им в рожи куски разрушенных колонн. Шикарно.

ngl total missed opertunity to give tarnished samson a sword once he picks up spirit sword just saying
I wish he had some custom hurt sounds like tarnished eden something that would not really fit a child cause tarnished characters are nit realky kids anymore thaley are too warped
Good video. Character is cool but his fists doing base damage just makes him actually really underpowered. He's worse than vanilla isaac with literally 1 tears up without filling his gimmick bar and only gets more and more outclassed the further you go.
Every existing melee character has massive 3-6 x damage mods for a reason.
This guy has worse melee than all of them in terms of range and utility and synergy and then also does very little damage on top of that.
Of all the tarnished characters he feels the most poorly designed, even more so than tarnished Maggy having near infinite health scaling while simutaniously punishing eploring so she's both broken and unfun to play and tarnished Isaac constantly returning 50% of his items as 'rot' so you just end up effectively D6'ing anything as one of two choices isn't a choice, making him just worse than vanilla isaac.
If he did 2x damage (halfway between standard melee and standard shots) or got damage as he filled his bar (rather than attack speed that's still going to be inferior to a regular character with a few items) he'd be much better
