      If we think about it, civilization is a mechanism or let's call it "machine" that humans have developed to generate goods and services using natural resources, that's all it is. Since the pharao's the "machine" used to work with a lot of human input. After the middle ages and with the enlightenment and the rise of capitalism, humans have focused in making the "machine" work with as less human input as possible, because society and values have evolved and human work currently is very valuable. So it's interesting to see some people worried because there is no more work to do, because after all that is the whole objective of scientists, engineers and entrepreneurs, and that is the whole objective of society, to have to work less, to earn more and to have more leisure time to pursue more elevated goals than just chase the daily buck. Andre Yang seems to realize that and is trying to help people see the point as well...forget about left and right, move forward....

    • @icankickflipok
      @icankickflipok 5 лет назад +7

      Tom Ganks we know rocks kill people. We don’t make any weapons with rocks anymore. When your solutions evolve to a certain point the old ones stop being necessary because the new ones solve those problems more efficiently, why bother keeping the old solutions?. Just because something works doesn’t mean we shouldn’t be looking to change it and improve it. If we didn’t we’d never really have had the industrial revolution.

    • @icankickflipok
      @icankickflipok 5 лет назад +4

      Bobby Bobby well yang believes a lot of that comes from a mindset of scarcity, which decreases your functional in by 13 standard points, one deviation, which he believes the UBI will go a long way towards liberating people from it. Getting the economic boot off of people’s throats so they can finally pick their heads up and see past the misery of their own lives.

    • @1flash3571
      @1flash3571 5 лет назад +1

      1+1 is still 2. That is the old solution. We don't change just because it is old. We change for better solutions. We don't even know how the Tech revolution will pan out. There are other ways to solve the problems which we can better withdraw much easier than to stop making payments each month if it doesn't work. How about get rid of the lobbyists, increase the deductions for income at higher amount. Instead of taxing at around starting at 9200 dollars for individuals, start taxing at 15k and 25k for married couple instead of at 19.4k. Keep the deductions for each family member the same. Close most of the business loop holes, and also on individual taxes. People will abuse the loop holes if it is there. For example. Some will buy that expensive vehicle for their "job", but it actually is mainly for their own use. Just allow them the deductions on miles driven for their job related work. If they take vacation at the same time, which some do, that is not allowed. They need to cut the deduction in half. Don't allow Monopolies like Amazon to grow that big. Limit the startup tax for first 6 years, and then tax at normal rate afterwards. Time limit can change. Smart taxing will help all parts of the society.

    • @icankickflipok
      @icankickflipok 5 лет назад +1

      Flash357 the rest of your comment is fine. But the way you began it, id like to start out by saying if 1+1 was the old solution for 2, then we figured out new ones like, say 2*1, 4/2, 0.5*4, 2! (Factorial). But your solution, nor those, are either new or old, despite being discovered a separate times in history. They’re universal. They existed before they were discovered. They weren’t invented. Like our government is. They cannot change. Ever. But our government system and political system and environment can. That’s the difference. In other words, your metaphor is fucking stupid and falls flat on its face despite the rest of your comment being solid and sensible and actually having some decent ideas. Just get rid of the metaphor. It’s dumb.

    Yang with the great response to the lady who called about the VAT. Even though she does not agree with the VAT (I'm pretty sure most people don't) and emphasizes that this places a huge burden on consumers, this is under the presumption that you will not receive a Freedom Dividend (FD). If you receive the FD, it will lessen the burden of the VAT, but will also prevent big companies from evading tax. Plus Andrew mentions that you can tailor the VAT to fall less on consumer staples, which technically in itself won't increase that much (should inflation occur) because the products are already operating in a highly competitive economy that will prevent prices to increase too much. Can you imagine your gallon of milk increasing from $3 to $6 if people had an extra $1,000 a month? People would go nuts and buy other milk alternatives and the prices would drop.

Please, pay close attention to and consider Yang's proposal to give each registered US voter a subsidized $100 per year to donate to whichever candidate(s) they determine will best serve their interests. A rough estimate, that is 26 billion dollars worth of campaign funding in the hands of US voters. This "proletariat lever" easily out performs the 3.4 billion of total corporate super-pac lobbying in 2018.

      If we think about it, civilization is a mechanism or let's call it "machine" that humans have developed to generate goods and services using natural resources, that's all it is. Since the pharao's the "machine" used to work with a lot of human input. After the middle ages and with the enlightenment and the rise of capitalism, humans have focused in making the "machine" work with as less human work as possible because society and values have evolved and human work currently is very valuable.

      They probably haven't experienced hardship themselves, so it's not a part of their reality; they sit comfortably on their asses and never spend a minute thinking about other beings situation. It's like John Rawls said:
      _"A just society is a society that if you knew everything about it, you’d be willing to enter it in a random place."_
      This is the key to having a rational and civilized society; the ability to show empathy and unconditional compassion and not horde everything for yourself. Unfortunately many people are Tumors and the majority are Boomers, which in turn creates Doomers that are apathetic towards the world. We need more Bloomers and it's mostly the younger generation Zoomers that need to step up and use the internet to spread the UBI concept around so that people will have a better chance to bloom into Bloomers.

    How could this guy NOT be getting more attention in the media?! How is Mr Yang the only one fully awake to something, even I, have seen coming for years; the rise of AI and automation? Its clear why even the likes of Fox's Tucker Carlson called him the most interesting person running for president. Andrew MUST be heard.

      I haven't watched the whole thing but he's for cutting down tuition costs by holding back student loans and grants from the schools until they get their prices down. On top of jailing Big Pharma assholes who upped the price of life saving drugs and killed thousands of people because our shitty government handed them the patents.

      Yer because when our governments bailed out the banks they had to save up the money first, then pay it to them. That’s how money works.
