I think they should go back to the old way where we start with lower tier cards and progress towards 99s as the year goes on. What they tried this year started out great until around season 3 when we started seeing the same players over and over again

I see a lot of comments like this and where I truly agree, I love what the show did with it in the aspect of the everyone can be competitive w each other. Where as in madden, there’s no plus in grinding challenges, it’s just pay to win. There was a lot of grinding, but it was rewarding getting the good cards and not having to put money into it just to be competitive. I’d love to see the lower cards be the rewards while also being the best ones in the game.

I wouldn’t mind progression for higher cards but make the cards obtainable for everyone. Not like Madden where u “have to” do micro transactions to get the best cards. I thought building squads was pretty good this year.
If we are going to do set restrictions at least make chase packs core cards so they’re usable all year long. Also, make coop set restricted. Nothing fun about playing John Donaldson every coop match

I see a lot of content creators and MLB the show youtubers talk about the drought this year which I can understand but this is the first year I have played mlb the show since 2015? on ps3 and I honestly feel like the sets are pretty good just cause of the idea of using the best cards at the start. It is apart of the grind starting from scratch but I'm not the best hitter so if im struggling with 125 all across the boards the 63 contact is gonna make me not want to play. I wish team affinity wasn't as awful as it is but I always felt the draught in content isn't as awful as the top dogs make it seem just because you guys do this as a job. Like its hard to love something while you are playing it day in and day out and without daily "goals" it definitely makes it hard and hearing about the path to your youtube success is a really dope way to start. Love the videos!
My first year on DD was last year and i played it until 23 came out. I already took 2 months off this game, it was the samething every new season with offline TA grinding

AJ you should do a video about players that you have hit the most home runs with and go from highest to lowest.
I had a god squad in august from set 3 and 4 and I felt like I did last year in January in September like I had no motivation to go for set 5 stuff especially when there are no programs out to get set 5 cards, I wish they could give us like one or two more programs before they start 24 y’know
When I’m most excited by team affinity something is wrong, not that the cards in team affinity are bad but I don’t see why I should use them when my set 4 squad is better idk maybe I’m wrong
Great point about it feeling like homework I really don’t love sets if u don’t buy stubs u basically have to keep doing offline bs to get stubs to constantly get new players
I personally really like the set idea, I just think there’s ways to improve like duplicate cards for next sets. You can’t please everyone and I’ve seen people complaining about not having repeats for the legend like Mickey and Mays, but I like the sets and would just want full sets of random cards that don’t get as much attention, I think that would be fun
So many great players that didn’t get cards this year which sucks

They’ve got to go back to progression. Throwing us a million 99 overalls in the beginning is nice for a couple months, but then what do we have? Nothing really. I also think they should implement a “golden ticket” program after the season is over. Like Madden does. Progression also allows people to mostly be on the same level as far as card overalls go. It’s always frustrating when a lot of us can’t grind for 99 overall cards and then we get in games with people with a full 99 overall squad. I just think throwing out all your good content in the first few months is a sure fire way to let your game die very very quickly.
Also, I think the reason they throw out all the best content out in the beginning is to get people to buy stubs to buy those really good players. They get a lot of money in the first few months and then once they’ve made their money, they just stop caring almost.
I would have it go back to progression and rework the grind on some of these programs. The grind is overwhelming this year.
Personally I loved sets because I don't buy any packs or have time to make ws. It was fun for me to compete with you sweaty nerds and have a shot. Usually my teams are so outmatched

Just my opinion yes sets and seasons dropped the ball in some areas. But I will say this until my face turns blue. We are at the point with ultimate team game modes where it doesn’t matter what card comes and and when it comes out. how excited can you be to get Mike trout each and every year. That is the real problem you can only be so excited for someone so many times. I have played a ton of 2ks myteam and it’s the same thing you can only be excited for a lebron card so many times. I want a sets and seasons with 99s day one because I am at the point where I am just not gonna play to use a card that’s an 88 ovr all it’s even more unexciting then it is to get some of these cards year after year just to have to wait 6-8 months to get a 99 version of a card.

My problem is you have players like Elly, who have the most dominant cards, yet didn't do much this year. Why was Sammy Sosa and Mark so bad? They are the best HR hitters of all time! Most of the cards I see are of players i've honestly never heard of (and i'm not THAT in the dark when it comes to the MLB IRL) Just my two cents
With sets it burnt me the casual out, cause I felt if I returned I could have a god squad with no effort so why play if it’s that easy to get the god squad plus with the majority of the best cards being behind chase packs it was dumb

They just don’t have enough player rights… they need to stop being cheap and go get 30-40 more new guys not in the game. Then the sets can work and have content that’s not repeating right away. It’s not like all 30/40 guys have to be stars and big huge name guys. There’s guys like Bernie Williams and Paul O’Neil who are good players but not superstars… we need guys to make full teams from back in the day… sds bringing in 6-7 new guys a year just isn’t enough
People just need to stop complaining so much about the game and if u don’t like the sets just not play the game at I’m just tired of people complaining just deal with it

Yea just like the disaster that was Immortals in 18 if sets make a return in 24 they are going to effectively kill this game off. I won't be coming back unless they return to the way it was. This game was pretty much dead by June on top of that we're still playing a game that has looked and played the same for 2 gaming generations now. It's time for a complete overhaul. DD has gotten boring and stale. People have now gotten bored of the Show and are moving on because SDS has basically turned the series into Madden. Without major updates more and more people will move onto other games.
