Peni came to try out for the football team but then he quit and started doing his fa'aluma stuff. He was great at it. Love you brother and all our school-mates here on this video clip. Thanks for posting this. Viking for Life (V4L).
Luigi Fuataga, maybe that is true about the old days, but not today. The performances today are not original anymore - hardly anymore pate or fala and traditional style of singing, which have been drowned out by keyboards and other silliness.
Classic Ol School Fagaitua Viking Fa'afiafiaga...the 1st & the only time the school performed at a Flag Day...the name of the guy thats doing the Fa'aluma is Fa'amaini from Fagaitua...lol..thanks for posting this video, take care & Jah bless...
Actually, this is pretty good, considering that it is not just a high school but it is an American Samoa high school. Sadly, it’s hardly like this these days. Today, the traditional style of singing is gone, replaced by opera or r&b style of singing drowned out by keyboards that have largely replaced the traditional fala and pate. People stop the fake performances today and go back to the old ways.
I think people of Samoa🇼🇸 have this perception of American Samoans 🇦🇸 of being overly Americanized. But no we were as just Samoan as the Samoans of Upolu or Savai'i, we grew up speaking Samoan and grew up in the culture of Samoa. Even though we have a different government systems doesn't mean we aren't as SAMOAN anymore. That's like saying Samoa 🇼🇸 was not very Samoan anymore when they were under Germany or New Zealand. I hope you get my point not trying to argue or hate. OneLove🇼🇸🇦🇸
Thank you so much for uploading this video, this whole time I thought it was Ioelu but clearly not. I see how much Ioelu's influence reached to all parts of Samoa lol

I sure miss these times and era. Le Fetu Ta'iala.....love this thank you so much for sharing, Fa'afetaitele.
Chaggy Tau people kept saying this is Ioelu. This is Peni from Pagai. He moved to Alaska and passed in 2010.
This school has had many good fa'aluma. I don't think that school will stop providing our island with great fa'aluma. I hope so.
