Watched to the end--looking forward to part II.
That reel seat is the most beautiful thing I've ever seen. All cork. No threads. No plastic. No metal. No foam. No seems. I wish ever rod had handles like that.

Watched to the end. I really like the look of the grip, too. Another great comparison. I really don’t care much about matching the colors of rod and reel, but prefer duller-color rods.
Of course I exaggerate a little. I honestly don't think the rod looks that bad. But you don't want to make the reviews too boring, so something i will pick up on little things for fun : )

I believe that the colour selection (burgundy) is the old signature colour. I remember my dad having AG rods in that colour

Yes I did watch to the end....LOL. Evidently the Carabus Extreme lineup is the same as the Diplomat Extreme series sold in Japan. The Carabus line is sold in Australia as well. This rod really shines on trout...which it should as that is what it is designed for. Good video....interested to hear your comments when you fish it.
I dont have much trout here.. but will see what i can do. I fished it hard yesterday, all kinds of species... I really dig this cork handle. I enjoy holding this all day. Also it's surprising that Abu made this rod in China, but it looks and feel like a JDM rod to me. Very fine looking piece of fishing equipment
Thoroughly enjoyed the detailed review on these rods. I've had a blast using the Eradicator on various species and will try to secure one of these Extreme rods. Always look forward to the content from your channels.
You may or may not be looking for feedback on your videos, but the light wood is a much better backdrop for your product reviews than the darker mat you were using before. Outlines are easier to see and more refraction of light. Isn’t it funny how abu Garcia is so well respected in Japan?
these Ultralight rods they make are JDM quality and 100$ cheaper than JDM gear. I am developing strong affinity. Their spinning reels are total trash though. Pure aliexpress stuff. No spinning abu, even these that cost 300$ , feels as good as a $50 Legalis
This carabus looks great I still have my ultra light gold max Garcia fiberglass rod from the 90s 6' works great watched till the end nice video I'm going to check this rod out, I like the handle as well

Hi Victor...watched to the end. This will help in selecting a higher end panfish rod this year. Hope they can be found. Still holding out for the Presso to become available. Love that reel seat on the Carabus!

One that intrigued me was called Silver Lining. Its a nice looking rod, but I'm afraid to purchase it due to cheap Chinese materials and manufacturing processes.

Hi, I have watched this video to the end and several times. I am new to this kind of fishing.
I just bought the 6’6” version of this rod but just below the specs on the rod, it says “Extreme vertical“ whereas, looking at the rod in the video, it says “Extreme horizontal”. The rod also seems a bit stiffer than my perception of the rod in the video. The manufacturer’s description of the rods makes no such distinction. I can throw a standard trout magnet (1g total) a maximum of 30 feet with this rod, using a 9lb braid with 2lb copolymer leader. Is this good enough? Any expert comments about the terms vertical and horizontal pertaining to the rods? and what kind of fishing would it work best for?
i have not investigated this 'vertical/horizontal' business. 30 feet seems a little short, i can go 60 with any of my rods, but there are other factors. I recommend the BG-1 jig heads for trout magnet - sharpest hooks and also cast the farthest. They are exactly 1 gram and cast like a dream.
9 pound braid is more than you need for sure. If you cast with braid, i need a few casts just to make the braid wet. Performance is different dry and wet. Sometimes the braid is sticky.
Anyway, i think your rod is fine, as all models of this rod are great. Even if u got a stiffer version it will still be great. I actually sold mine because the tip was too soft.

foam doesn't need sealing? But i prefer the look of cork. I don't feel strongly about this actually.. i have great rods with either one..
@@ifishcatfish I checked out the diplomat, not gonna happen, money and too ultra light. I looked and looked for any other rods with that handle, but nope. If you ever find that handle anywhere else show it off on your great channel.
the soare XR handle is more comfortable than this. Similar but better

How does this rod’s sensitivity and the parabolic bend of this rod compare to that of the daiwa air AGS?
Sensitivity is very similar but this is vast action rod. The ags has fast action models and also parabolic models. The xul and ml are parabolic, the ul and L are fast
Looking for rod in SUL category. I will be fishing mostly jigging - weight from 0.5 to 3 grams - will be it suitable ? Is this blank stiff enough to be able to jig those kind of gramature ?
3 gram would be a bit much for this solid tip. U need a tubular tip and very slow action to be able to handle 3 gram with a SUL. Watch my belezza video, that one would fit what u want, but is a little short

I dont know where to find the diplomat. But the carabus is sold in several euro sites that ship to here for free. I decided not to post links because they probably dont have many pieces and will go out of stock immediately. Just google. Plenty of places have it.

no, you got it! The Twinpower, which is black and gold, fits this rod the best. And i like the looks of it. Its just that my twinpower is kind of heavy for this rod..
