Those of you who didn't get to witness Tiger's domination, trust us, it was like this every weekend... It was a sight to behold
So true. I watched everyone televised in real time. He was my favorite athlete. He literally made golf athletic.
He went off at even money to win tournaments, which is insane. The favorite now gets you like 10 to 1

@@seantaft9281 he’s still the goat chief. Undisputed.
@@fredwerza3478 Rough estimate but probably well more than that. He was a major sex addict and the level of fame he experienced is unreasonable. He couldn't go through an airport on the planet without being recognized and often greeted by a hoard of fans. We can make whatever guesses we want but Bill Burr used the number 300 in his joke about it and I'd wager if anything that number is a bit light.
@@billbrobaggins221nope jack nickalaus is. He has more majors.
What makes him so great is that he puts himself in these situations all the time, but always manages to recover so well.
I think he ends up in these situations because he is super aggressive in his play. Since he was young, he just became used to being in not-so-great hitting positions.
It was laying on the grass. Haven’t u ever seen that before
Exactly.
... well not always...
I recall volunteering every year at the LA Open at Riviera where I worked in Communications. The phones rang off the hook for people wanting Tiger’s tee times. I could tell when talking with many of these fans over the phone that many of them weren’t even golfers. They just wanted to follow Tiger the phenom. and then when he played his rounds, hundreds followed him. It was exciting and amazing seeing the energy and attention he created for the sport back then.
When tiger was in his prime, he made golf exciting to watch
This is where,in my opinion, Tiger excelled over everyone else. His short game and imagination were untouchable.
The greatest player in the history of golf. No question
I'll take Jack with his prehistoric golf clubs and balls over Tiger, no question. Besides, he's got the most major victories and Tiger himself stated that was the bar.
Gratest player
@@ericsilverado7757 This is a solid and credible argument, and for the sake of an entire career I think it's right. That being said, if you took Jack on his best day and Tiger at his best day, Tiger wins 10 out of 10 times in my opinion.
There was a 5-10 year period where Tiger played the best golf ever played. He just didn't have the longevity Jack had. Mostly because he made the idiotic decision to leave Butch Harmon and undergo a swing change, when he already had the best golf swing in history. He was never the same after that.
@@hlf_coder6272 If TW didn't have longevity it wasn't because of Harmon, but because he had a pretty violent swing. Couple that with some performance enhancers and breakdown is inevitable.

Even if Tiger missed, he could get it to the green for the birdie.

“Hit the drain and possibly injure himself “- lol. Tiger only got injured when he took pills and drove cars
Tiger called it. He said it’ll be short but it will be on the green. Amazing talent
What was so difficult about that lie? It looked elevated above the grate by plenty. Great shot though
I believe it’s what you can’t see. Like the concrete houses the drain iron plate that goes on top it’s concrete and so that would be covered up by grass almost so no telling how high it’s coming out of the grass because the grass is pretty thick so if underneath it about an inch or two might be that concrete slab and he would hit the lip of it coming down there for the bed because if he tries to check for it in the ball moves he’s got a stroke in the grass is very thin so if you push some of it and just roll down to the grading
It's the follow through that's dangerous, you hit down on the ball with an iron, if he had caught the edge of the grate, it could have ended his career.
@@stephenwalker6980 you actually don't hit down on the ball with irons. It actually doesn't go far below the ball at all. Thats a good way to screw up a shot. The angle is already whats needed. You hit it straight on and the iron angle does all the work.
@@69mickswagg you hit the ball with a desending blow, your follow through should take a shallow divot in front of the ball. I played golf for many years, the way you describe is a recipe for thin shots that won't stop on the green.
