I have the F LOOP +, and I like it a lot. the aluminum radiator is now 2 pieces rather than 3 ( I would have preferred the 3 pc for portability) but works very well.
Very nice and honest video. I'm looking for a portable antenna for my ft-817nd or my elad fdm duo and like the idea of the loop but the elad been a sdr it seems a little bit too narrow.
Would someone not be better off to get a multiband end fed antenna and just fling one end up as high as they can get and it would be much more efficient ? yes loops have their uses but unless you want to work from 18 Mhz up they're not that good, certainly an expensive antenna compared to a good and much cheaper multiband end fed that's resonant on several bands. Good video all the same, thanks. How do you find it now after some use, worth it or not ?
Dear Gil, I got a FLoop 2 that has two coax as radiators, and two inner circles, one 6.5" and the other 8". If I understand, I should use the larger coax and inner circle to use 7MHz ? (they call this configuration "booster" but no word about efficiency). Cordially, Milos F4IIP
I have seen another video on this antenna and other loop antennas for both TX/RX & RX only. MFJ have a good one that will do 40 meters too (multi band).
Cheap can be nasty but in this case David Casler did a review on it and found it great. I think Ham radio concepts reviewed it too and found it great as well.
LOL I was just going to say what's up with your battery, I saw 9 volts then I see you changed it and it looked a lot better , perhaps you could have made contact with the U.K station with the better battery ?
Thanks for the video, Gil; nicely structured and well-narrated. I have been using Chameleon products for about 6 months and have found your reviews useful (although I've broken my CHA Mini - long story}. I heard that you are near Lille. I will be staying Lille for 10 days or so in late July. Is there a radio shop in the vicinity? 73s de M6VIE (Steven).
Radio Prepper Hi, Gil. That would be great! I'm taking my cat to Onco Vet for 10 days of radiotherapy so I imagine I'll be staying in the centre of town. I will have my car, too. My Facebook page is Facebook.com/steezcheez if you want to send me a note. Or I can email you if you let me know your address. Look forward to a natter!
In peu long mais bon...
Well done Gil!

Fantastic job Gil ... I like your RUclips channel =)

It works well but I wish it was bigger... (that's what she said;-)
@@RadioPrepper haha good one !

Yes. I would use the larger one for all bands. My loop has a 5m perimeter..

I like MFJ. It's cheap stuff, but, well, It's cheap...

+Steven Croston Hi Steven. I haven't looked for one yet but will. We can still get a drink in Lille and talk radio though :-)
