First, thank you all for watching! Second, I shot that bull in the front shoulder. The 195 grain Berger sent a shockwave up to his spine (which happens when you hit something hard in the shoulder) and instead of running 100 yards and expiring, it thrashed around a minute while it expired. The shot was only 90 yards which is why we walked up so quickly. Third, I appreciate your comments about Rusty. He was a great man.
Great job getting through that story! I wouldn't have even tried it if I lost somebody because I would have broke down. Got to enjoy every minute of it because you never know when your number is going to be called!
I just watched this video, what a stud of a bull! I’m sure Rusty was watching over you during this hunt! Memories last forever! Keep on doing what you do!
Great video! Sorry to hear about your loss. I think all of us hunters can relate to being grateful for those that were kind and patient enough to teach us this great sport. I was blessed with great mentors and now enjoy teaching Arizona youth hunting ethics and conservation....probably more than my own hunts anymore. Appreciate the great videos!
Sorry to hear about you buddy Rusty. I pray that he is looking down on you with a huge smile and admiration for what you accomplish. Great video as always, thanks for taking us along and sharing your adventures, life and feelings! Keep up the hard work my friend!
Congrats guys on a great hunt. The emotion felt thru this video was raw and real..... It's wild how hunting allows us to reflect on the important things in life; God, Family, Friends, Health...... Great content, doing it the right way.... Thanks guys.
First off sorry for the loss of your friend. It's hard to get back into things when you have something like that happen. It was nice that you connected and where able to pay tribute to your friend in that why. It was great country. Nice animal will provide may meals for your family. Good video. Keep them coming guys.
Great footage, congrats! Love the series so far... Condolences for the loss of your buddy, glad you finished the hunt, I'm sure he would have been proud!
Some awesome footage of a bugaling bull up close. What a way to honoring your old mate chase on a great bull taken congrats and sorry for your loss champ
Sorry for your loss but I believe that Rusty would have wanted you to do that you did buy shooting that great bull elk in his name. I will say a prayer in his name and in yours. So keep the great video's coming and i can't wait for the next one.
No word of a lie - you could tell something was on your mind without reading the description. Got a bit teary eyed when I watched that bull pass. It was like he wanted you to come closer. Sorry to hear of the passing of your friend. Prayers and strength to you. JBM
Sorry to hear about your loss. Never easy but glad your hunt still worked out. Don’t know if I could have finished it out or not. Hope to never have that issue.
Man, I know those feelings of loosing a good friend. The older you get, the more it happens. My deepest sympathies, Chase. Congrats on the elk. Was that your 28? Where did ya hit him? Distance?
@@TheMountainProject okay I have been looking for something to use in equipment in harvest season that can double when i hunt. Cheap walkie-talkie won't work in the equipment.

Sorry guys, I love hunting elk but it's only fun with a bow.
We disagree, but to each their own
If it’s only fun with a bow it’s not the elk it’s the bow you love!
