i made from my normal mountainbike a mountain e-bike, i got the mtx 39. 29 "inch 52v, 40amp max current controller. (with 250w (joke) ;) ;) we not allowed to have a bigger motor then 250w, but a different brand, i like it alot :D
i know i would go faster if i had a controller with higher amp's, but 54 km ph i think is already fast for first time, it got me a bit scared but also a big smile on my face hahaha :D din't do a topspeed yet.
34 mph is great, I put together a Voilamart 1500w kit with a 52v20ah battery on a 26" Scott YZ4 'Voltage' MTB (crazy how the bike I bought blindly with the intention of maybe turning into an electric bike is called 'Voltage' eh?!?! I shunt-modded the stock 35amp Controller and the top speed is 38 mph & from a standstill using the throttle it gets to 20/25 mph like a little rocket! Flies up ANY hill at 20 mph, and I'm getting great range of a guaranteed 50 miles from a full charge. One fine day (when money allows) I'll be upgrading to a similar 3000 watt set-up, like the one in this vid... It's just quite costly though going from a 1500w to 3000w as you really need the 72v battery - I doubt my 52v battery would get much range using a 3000 watt hub motor. Sounds like you built yourself a nice little E-bike 😉👍💪

I got mine now. Trying to understand the controller. I already ordered 6mm worth of disc brake spacers to make most disc brake calipers fit. So I have to buy a new throttle for the reverse and cruise control stuff? I read a review that the bike was motor was giving power even though no throttle or pedal assist movement? What is the lock function for on the LCD display? Not sure what self learning is either? 12v brake line? Light kit too?
Forget those extra features for now, not needed and don’t need to connect everything. Just make sure the wheels secured properly, your wires secured properly and the controller isn’t overpowering what your battery’s capable of. (ie look up your battery’s BMS and max peak discharge usually double bms ).
Hey, Eb I got a question I have the same setup stock with the stock controller 80a I can't seem to get over 50 top can you help me out. Thanks Roosevelt

I suppose you drive your car/truck the same way? Don't get me wrong, I also speed on the interstate and US highways but, if I'm in a residential area, I won't. I also stop for all stop signs and red lights, including making a right on red. I also looked this up, How much speed can bike tires handle? Most bicycle tires don't have speed ratings- but they're good to go at any speed you're willing to crash at.
It's strange that governments limit scooters, mopeds, and gas motor conversions for bikes to 50 cc for registration exemption, but haven't addressed electric at all. Doesn't seem right. 50 cc is probably in the neighborhood of 2-3 hp. On that basis the electric equivalent should be roughly 2 kw.
I don't trust the tires....a blow-out at those speeds on a bicycle vs. motorcycle...no bueno, lol What are e-bike tires rated at for top speed and for how long? And is it safe to assume the brakes will come NOWHERE near stopping you in time...you like T-bone steak?

Unfortunately, this is the kind of stuff that will only lead to heavy regulation. We're just a few accidents away from licensing, speed regulation, insurance, and safety laws. Look what happened in Europe. I love to go fast, but the freedom of ebikes will someday be restricted when the lawmakers start seeing more and more of these kinds of videos. 😢
@@ebbikerides8608 It will be your problem when you get ticketed, fined, and your bike gets impounded. Again, I love to go fast, but flying down a busy road at 50-55mph draws to much attention, IMHO. Ask the Europeans who are limited to 250w motors & 15 mph. Enjoy it while you can... right? Hopefully, we are years away from that, but you can almost bank on those regs coming to our local communities as we see more and more of these "fun" bikes traveling down the road... Thanks for the video. 🙂
I'm sorry I'm with Jeff on this one. You got to look now in Florida. There is a city that outlawed eBikes. California is starting to come up with regulations. And New York is starting to come up with regulations. This going to spread and is it really ok for a lightweight bike to be going those excessive speeds. What's sad is on alot of these videos how can you be out there with no kinds of protections. That other ebike guy on Florida has his family out with no head protection which makes you cringe.EB just be careful out there.I like to see you make videos on how you hook up those controllers or battery building.

That’s both cool and crazy. You passed ‘my’ blue truck.
