How do you stick the second window on top? When I do it, if I click to paint on the window bellow, the top one go behind..

weird, which ps version do you use? cs4 and 5 do it without problems,you opened the second window under: window>arrange>new window for "your filename" ?

he docks(not maximize) the window under to the ps interface, then it doesn't go on top anymore if you paint in it
