But only because they were philosopher stones homunculus. Ed and al only managed to barely be equal to her because they can clap transmute. In fact she was able to survive near the briggs mountain alone and managed to steal supplies from brigg soldiers who are strong enough to kill bears alone and defended the country from opposing countries. It was only after she committed the taboo that she was severely weakend to the point she can only fight for a time. Even with that handicap she was even against greed. But that changes when hohenhiem came and rearanged her bodies insides to be more easier to move and able to fight longer. And she was able to defeat many stone dummies easily and threw sloth like nothing. And was even able to fight father with the others very well. So to be to the point, shes the strongest female of the series.

I only wonder what it would've been like if Izumi hadn't lost her child and they grew up to be like a sibling to Ed and Al. I know he's alive in the 2003 version, but you know what I mean.
