I feel that! My first DCI show was this year in San Antonio. Good lord, I could not even fully comprehend the otherworldly sounds and visuals I was experiencing.
That horn line in 04 was off the charts. I took a buddy of mine to a show and he's a trumpet player. His face when BD did a victory concert was priceless. He said that is pure sound. There was no squeaks or misses.
Wish the audio was better. This is the show I point to when people complain about amplifying. The sounds this show exposed us to shows exactly the intent of amplification.
The blue devils I fell in love with then. I then watched previous show for decades back and really fell in love. This era of BD is ok. They are still talented and still my corps.
It’s really cool to see how BD has evolved. They went from jazz orientated shows with heavy use of lead trumpets to, uncharted territory with the use of sousaphone and tap shoes, completely changing what it means to march DCI
@@ehess1492 Hopefully with this covid break they go back to Jazz.. it takes me a while to get into there shows now. Still love them.. but the last show were I shed a tear was 2017.
@@hunteralexander9791 I got a feeling that some corps will. I use sit up high to watch drill. Now I sit midsection. Because so much is going on all around the field.
It’s beautiful. One of my favorites. However, I actually liked the version they did earlier in the season because it had more low brass and less pit, but I’m a low brass guy so I’m biased.
Headass this was 16 years ago and also bd wdym next one u havemt done this in like... 15 years lol. Also I I wouldnt complain about the editing, i would complain about the audio it's real damn loud even at minimum volume but it's still ok i think
I still come back to this show 20 years later…one of my favorites and one of the best shows of all time….just saying
It’s perfection. Zero fluff. Not a single wasted note. Flows so well.
This and 2003s The Phenomenon(?) of Cool
The fact that I’m 28 now looking back when these guys were like super heroes to me . It’s surreal

All of the 2004 shows were so much fun to watch. BD, SCV, and Cavies were my faves!
Peaky signal distortion aside, this sounds SO fucking good.
This show still hits juuuuust right 19 years later.
This show had the best ending! what an incredible hornline that year

I wish they’d devolve.
Oh well. That’s what the DVDs are for.

even as someone currently marching drum corps, I wish the activity would return to this era.

Thanks for posting, but I'm curious why the audio is so distorted?
Bryan Flick Agreed. It’s very distorted.
Did you not hear this way back when ?
They filmed outside lol
It’s because this is was recorded outdoors in 2004
@@ayayronn the DVD isn't this bad. This shit got compressed like a college DJ.
This NEEDs a reupload with the CD audio
Great hornline as usual for the blue devils
Why isn’t the horn line wearing gloves?
i miss this high energy blue devils writing.
95 cameras and they choose to show the snare drummer coming in early at 2:26 😂

Holy cow the audio is extremely overmodulated.
almost no low brass shown in this. the video cut-aways, the editing is horrible.
Daniel Saeger we’ll keep that in mind for the next one, thank you for your input!
