In Ukraine, we see the Ka-52 in action, with its incredible survivability, when this helicopter can avoid a salvo of large numbers of American and British missiles and continues to fly even with its tail torn off. I doubt that Apache will show this result. This is a helicopter built on an outdated base, it does not even have an ejection system. Apaches were certainly good in the 80s and 90s, but after the Russians built the Aligator, those days are gone

The Apache has not the amount of modern shot vehicles than the Alligator. The Ka-52 is by far the most effective Helicopter today.
The KA 52 gets knocked out of the sky every time it flies near Ukrainian positions. Some have even been shot down with Javelins---which aren't even designed for low-flying aircraft! The KA52 can take a hammering, is slightly quicker and more maneuverable. It's real advantage is if it gets so badly hit, the pilot and crew can still survive by ejecting and live to fly and fight another day. In the same scenario, the Apache pilot/crew is doomed to go down with the helicopter. If I was spending the money, I would definitely not buy the Apache if given the option of the KA52.

Apache and K-52 helicopters were really designed for two different combat functions. The Apache was designed for nap of the earth ambush attack. The K- 52 was designed for a higher reconnaissance attack mode. The idea of the K-52 was to attack from a distance and to spot targets for other ground systems. This is why the Apache has targeting pod on top of the rotor while the K-52 it's pod is underneath. Essentially the two helicopters will function best in different environments an terrain. Since the K-52 operates at higher altitudes the pilot ejection system makes sense while the Apache operating at low altitude does not have such a system (The Apache does have energy absorbing landing gear and seats to make nap of earth shoot downs more survivable.). Both helicopters would have trouble doing what the other helicopter is designed to do. Both are very good helicopters.
У Апача богатый боевой опыт. По количеству расстрелянных свадебных и похоронных процессий ему равных нет. А также по количеству убитых ослов и пастухов. Можно ли считать грозящий в небо кулак крестьянина и его проклятия - средством ПВО?

Also, there’s footage of a Ka-52 that had dodged 16 Stingers before finally getting hit on the tail, and the crew still managed to fly that thing back to base. Please note that the Ka-52s are currently engaging a powerful enemy supplied with modern, strong air defences from NATO. The AH-64 Apache meanwhile has had only engaged weak and ill-equipped forces and insurgents with little to no air defences. And even then, we’ve had multiple cases of Apache losses. These are both strong systems however neither are immune to modern manpad / AA systems. The Apache has not really fought an modern advanced foe like the KA-52 is doing atm. To be fair i think which ultimately is better is more dictated by crew doctrine and skill as well as tactics and not the least support and overall joint forces cooperations etc play a massive part. Neither of these are wonder weapons. One thing that has impressed me though is how sturdy the KA-52 is and has really shown the advantages or having a coacial rotor system as they don't spin out of controll as fast as the more conventional helicopters designs like the Apache, Hind and Havoc and seems to have a much higher chance of a controlled crashlanding. I would not be surprised if we see new western helicopter designs with that pop up after seeing this in Ukraine.
You forgot to mention the ejection seats of the Ka-52, unlike the Apache. Training a good pilot is expensive, so the Russians took care of their pilots. There's probably an excess of pilots in the states, they don't need catapults.
The Apache can stay hidden miles away and hit targets with precision. KA 52s can't do that. (Apache Hellfire anti-tank missiles have a range of more than 3.7 miles and can penetrate the armor of any known main battle tank) wonder why it's called the Apache? You can't see it or hear it.

A helicopter with coaxial rotors has relatively small dimensions, is quite compact, which simplifies its maintenance, storage, transportation, and expands its scope. Small dimensions, reducing the mass difference, create small moments of inertia, so the helicopter has high angular speeds of rotation and high maneuverability. The symmetrical layout with minimal propeller spacing simplifies piloting in gusty wind conditions, which is especially valuable when working from ships or in mountainous terrain. No bulky tail

Apache's upgraded sensor suites, avionics, power plant, rotor improvements and ordinance loadouts are what keep it a valid platform after 40 years. The sensor mast above the rotors allows it to "peek" over trees or ridgelines with advanced optics and night vision while maintaining cover from enemy view and fire. It can recon the battle area, pick and lock targets, "pop up" to launch weapons, then take cover again. It is not, however a direct competitor to the KA-52.

That is an excellent analysis of what their true purpose in combat is.

@@KingofDoubleBogey The Ka-52 is a completely Soviet development. And the Soviet documentation provides for a crew rescue system. The USSR has not been with us for thirty years... but the mighty Soviet military-industrial complex still gives the West a shit. Ka-52 can fly over HELL and come back....
No one peeks through the trees in modern warfare - that's death for a helicopter. Salvation for a helicopter is speed and maneuverability, and anything will fly into a helicopter hiding behind trees - a grenade, an anti-tank missile, AK bullets (deadly dangerous for an unarmored Apache)
