My daily driver turns 27 years old this year. Over a quarter million miles, thanks to '90s Japanese engineering, and my willingness to learn and get my hands dirty. You'd be surprised what you're capable of fixing on your vehicle, especially with RUclips. Plus you'll build an awesome tool collection after a while.
That's great you're saving so much money. What you guys never consider is crash safety. If you're getting into a major crash with a modern SUV or truck, all that money you've saved won't mean anything to you if you're 6ft under.
@@Cads-n3i Crash safety was already quite good in the 2000s. Even in the 1990s, if it is a Lexus or similar. Insurance is quite low on my 2009 BMW Z4, and it is even lower on my 2005 Mercedes CLK Convertible. It seems such cars don't get into heavy accidents much.
@@CanadianJaze with their location in Western North Carolina, it would not be unusual for buyers in areas with lots of body rust from road treatment and sand/salt to buy "beaters" that last several years and either break down or rust away . Thanks Brandon for your transparency and honesty about the prices you pay and sell your cars for. So much different than these franchise dealers who pay peanuts for trade-ins and then try to sell them for platinum prices with the "gouged them all" mentality!

I think he aims for 1200 profit per car. Assuming he loads up to 200 for the tax refund boom, that's $240,000 just from the tax refund boom. He needs a lot of cash for this.
Do you remember the billboard on I-45 in southeast Dallas county that read, "Home of the $20 Used Car"? This was several years ago. (I assume that $20 was the monthly payment, for 20 years.)
Wish we had a used car dealer like your around here, it's better to buy from an individual than a used car lot because of AS IS. Thanks for being so honest and love your videos.
To me the wife's '07 Accord EX-L V6 6-speed manual is perfect for our needs and irreplaceable, so we wouldn't sell it at any price. Don't want or need an SUV and everything we own has a manual trans and no turbo so easy maintenance.
Reliability for that Honda V6 is night and day depending on what transmission you have. The manual one is definitely the better one to have. Automatics with V6 crapped out at 200k going as far back as the 1999 Honda Odyssey (which is the second generation Odyssey even though most people think it's the first generation).
I would buy a car from you in a heartbeat Brandon. And anyone looking for a decent car at a fair price should as well. I’m 58 and a car guy myself and have bought and sold many cars. And I can tell you that finding something cheap that isn’t junk is not easy and I think with your knowledge and Alex’s knowledge and mechanical skills as well I think someone would have a much better chance at getting a good vehicle if they bought from you versus buying from an individual or most other dealers. Keep doing what you’re doing people like me are glad you’re out there and hope when we need a car we can find someone like you. I don’t think anyone has a problem with people making money everyone or most everyone just wants to be treated fair.
This channel is awesome sometimes I click on videos similar to yours and they either don’t tell enough or maybe cut the content for short videos but this channel is mad educational and entertaining
I am a fan of the Chevy HHR (heritage high roof) and the Chrysler PT Cruiser (personal transport). I like the vintage look of these cars. Very cool. See 4:37. Thanks for showing this!
Yah, these kinds of vids are fun. I like the cars I have, both lo mile and meticulously maintained, but I remember just buying runners too. These days 2500 bucks is a beer money car. Now I can buy whatever, but they don't make anything new I even want.
Its cool. Good to see where the market is or is going on a car I can maybe afford because I am in the position I need a car. Im glad things are finally changing in the used car market.
I like it to funny watching you walking around these new car dealers lots with no place to put another one and you’re staking up giving people what they need and most likely you will be sold out the new car market has no clue what people need or want 👍🏻
Dude, this is the best show you've ever done.😊 I seriously appreciate what you said. I've always made used car salesman jokes in the past. But you redefine used car salesman🎉❤
I believe used car sales will be lower this year even with tax returns. Ppl are the most in debt ever. I believe a good majority will be paying off debt or buying food. There will be cars bought but nothing like the past 15 years….
That might drive used cars up in a supply/demand scenario as less people can afford new cars adding to the demand of used cars. People who could not afford a decent used car are now buying beater cars driving up the price of beater cars like Brandon sells. When there are more poor or bad credit people then the products that poor and bad credit people buy will go up in price. I do wish you end up being correct and I am wrong.
Everybody needs to BK if possible. Fuck corporate america. Making everything impossible to afford. They need a better quarter everyone. Sounds like they cause inflation just to get their bonuses
My first truck was a 76 Ford pickup for $400. I've worked my way up through a dozen cars over 30 years. Now I have nice, reliable paid for vehicles. Hard work and patience pays dividends.
You can't work on the majority of late model cars w/out correct computer programs, needing correct tools, and learning how to do it, so buy new and don't worry about things. Scarcity of parts available for 2012 models, new mechanics are ignorant of what to do and how to repair something. Back when I was a used car dealer, my state had an inventory tax which was based on your March inventory, right in the middle of tax season when inventory was at its highest. If you didn't stock up on inventory, you lost sales and ended up having to buy more inventory when the prices at the auctions were high thus losing profits. If you did stock up on inventory, you got nailed by the tax, again losing profits. The state eventually eliminated the tax, but not until after I had closed my dealership.

I think some buyers for bigger dealers overpay for cars just to get them. It's not their money, so they don't care as much. You losing a few hundred bucks on a car that isn't selling, isn't the same as losing thousands on a car their buyer paid way too much for. I know you said last September you lost $10k, some of the bigger dealers could lose that much on 3 or 4 cars.

Uhhh I always wanted a "white" panel version of the HHR but never got around to getting one before they were discontinued, I generally only buy white vehicles. The PT Cruiser was the 1st one out but thought the styling of the HHR looked better specially in the non side window panel delivery version of it. It would have been a must have buy if it had been RWD like the SSR but with the Colorado's Vortec straight 5 or V6 motor.
Only if there's a dealership like yours near me I would have just buy one from that dealership instead of a leased car. First time getting a car and it's a leased, I would never do that again. 2nd hand cars near me sucks when I got my car, everything was so expensive for what they where.
I got a new 2024 Bronco Sport Badlands with $3k off MSRP and 0.99% interest. If you want a new car, I think this is probably the best time, they aren't going to over produce cars in 2025, and the prices will go up to reflect that.
