    I found that many simple words short phrase, yet very useful are used in the dialogue. I'm surprise I can understand some of it. Please keep up the good work.

    I can’t understand how “hello” became like goodbye in Hungarian. No one would have ever heard an English speaker use it that way. Funny thing is, szia sounds just like “see ya” which is a pretty common informal goodbye, so it’s very easy to remember that one haha.

    • @HungarianbyHeart
      @HungarianbyHeart  8 месяцев назад

      Hahah igen, ez érdekes🤔
      Maybe it's because we use "szia" In both ways and when we started using "hello" we felt like it could work the same way as "szia" so I guess it just became an equivalent for szia which is both hi and bye🤷‍♀️😁

    Ha megengedsz egy kis tudományos ismeretterjesztést... 🙂
    A hallo szó nemzetközileg ismert, használt.
    Eredete talán az, hogy amikor a magyar Puskás Tivadar megalkotta , üzembe helyezte az első telefonközpontot, a használók első szava az volt: hallod? hallom! Ami nálunk is lerövidült hallo-ra, és átvette minden nemzet.....
    Még egy adalék: Puskás kitalálta a telefon-hírmondót, ami a rádió előfutára lehetett. A telefonkészüléken "vonalhang" helyett az aktuális hírek mentek szakadatlanul.
    (Kérlek szólj, ha zavart keltőnek érzed a hozzászólásaimat, és leállítom magam....)

    Thank you for another brilliant video. I find the word "is" very interesting because it doesn't seem to mean "too" or "also" a lot of the time but rather it appears to be thrown into a lot of phrases to strengthen them. Is this right?

    • @HungarianbyHeart
      @HungarianbyHeart  9 месяцев назад +1

      I love your questions, they even challenge me to think on these details of Hungarian:)
      You’re right, we can use “is” in a different way, when it doesn’t mean “too/also”.
      In this video (around 5:44) Dorina says “Akkor el is kezdhetjük.” = “Then we can start it.”
      ‘is” here means something like “already”. So, we can start the interview already, now that everything else is ok.
      She could’ve said: “Akkor most már el is kezdhetjük” emphasising that now we can already start it. Also this “is” gives the feeling that we can do something quickly / immediately / right now.
      “Na, kész vagyok. Indulhatunk is.” = “I’m ready. We can leave now.”
      “5 perc séta, és már ott is vagyok.” = “5 min walk, and I’m already there.”
      I hope this helps!!

    The dialogue in the acted scenes was a lot faster than usual in this episode. I'll have to play it back a few times to get used to it! A technical suggestion: Would it be possible to have a split screen, with one actor on the left and the other on the right, instead of flicking from one screen to another each time the speaker changes? That might be easier on the eyes for us slightly older learners :-)

      Thank you for your feedback!! That's a really good idea, I don't know why I never thought about that 😅 I'll definitely try it next time:) köszi!

    I just started watching you but I thought I might suggest leaving the subtitles up a little longer, even if it means you need to fit the next line of dialogue under them. I try to listen and translate first, and then look down to see how I did, but your subtitles disappear immediately when your sentence ends and the next sentence’s subtitles appear. I think it would be a big help to learners. Thanks.

      Thank you for your feedback🙏 maybe next time I record a conversation I could try to make some pause between the lines, just a few seconds so you have time to check the subtitles after I said the line. I'm still trying to figure out how to add subtitles in a way that suits most people, so I appreciate your feedback:)

      @@HungarianbyHeart yes I definitely understand it’s hard to fit another line of both English and Hungarian. I wonder if a constantly scrolling text on the side of the screen would work. Kind of like the Star Wars intro that is slow enough to glance at after each sentence. I like you’re video style though. Been learning on Duolingo for 2 and a half years but I feel like I still hardly know anything so I’m branching out and looking for more ways to learn.

      Actually, this is exactly what I wanted to ask. Just keep the subs for 1 sec longer, so I can stop it by the end of the phrase, that would be really awesome and helpful.
      But I can't pretend that much from you and I didn't want to bother you with all stuff I already wrote and asked here ha ha, obviously the majority doesn't share the same opinion.
      By the way, I just like the editing, the voice, the intonation, the phrases, everything. Thank you a lot. Awesome content.
      If you want to hype, here you have two ideas:
      1) ”how to pick up a hungarian girl” / “how to ask a hungarian woman out“ - such name would probably attract thousands of people.
      2) open "'The Barbie" movie in hungarian and translate some parts of it. If you repeat a lot of times the word Barbie, youtube will promote your video. Probably it is too late for The Barby, but you can see what is in the trends of the platform right now. Another one good to hype with was Wednesday TV show. Just speak about that staff and RUclips will promote you. Obviously and unfortunately that would mean lower the level of quality and seem less professional by the end.
      Thanks again, just don't stop, your content is actually quite unique.
