Ultimate Custom EVO Softail: Going For a Ride | The Build Up S1 E4

- Before the big wheel bagger craze, before Dyna bros with tall socks and before Biltwell made Sportster's cool again there were Softails. Not these new fangled monoshock M8 Softails but real OG Softail models. But over the years the forgotten former king of cruiser-land has been shoved into garages and under tarps all across the country, including one of our former catalog bikes. Follow along as we resurrect our former centerfold Softail and build it back into a street pounding chopper. The best part is that when the dust settles in the shop this beauty could be yours! One lucky winner will be chosen at the end of The Build Up and this custom Softail will be parked in their garage. No purchase necessary, just your love of two wheels.

This series was awesome! I’d love to see you guys do more of them. I wouldn’t mind the episodes being longer to show more of the process either. Great job! 👍
The OG Softails are overlooked right now cause you can't wheelie them really... That means you can get several cool models for cheap and build them into cool bikes like this one. Looks Great and I bet it rides great too!!!
Very nice transformation. Looks like a totally different bike because it is. Great job!
Great content and a great build! Perfect transformation for this bike. From sad to RAD!
I love EVO motors, definitely the best motor Harley ever made
The color is awesome
Looks good. Glad somebody finally did something with that bike.
"Cooler" is an "Under Statement" Sick, Wicked & just plain out Bad Ass !!!
I have to say you really transformed that Softail very nicely. Also would like to say I never expected JP cycles to be doing something like that.. I always thought that you were pretty much an internet catalog type store. Changed my mind... Nice job ..
Very cool, great build.
Awesome video and great job, Patrick! Man that build turned out great! LOVE the paint! That exhaust is just perfect, too. Hard to say what is my favorite about the build but I think the overall badass stance of it with the chopper sky-sparkle colored tins is just perfect.
Looks awesome. Way to bring it back. 🔥 🔥 🔥
I just finished building mine. Was a challenge and a pleasure. I love my bike. Would I do it again, HELL YEAH!!
Turned out nice, I’ll take it
Wow there is just no words for the look of this bike you killed it hard work paid off! Love that color and shorty fender really rocks this bike very nice job!🤘🏼
Thanks
damn HOT!!!!!!
Bike looks fantastic well done 👍
I absolutely love metal flake. Beautiful job on the paint. The flag underneath was pretty sick not gonna lie.
I just watched all 4 episodes of this build. Down to earth old school style build. Love it.
Looks good and great job.
Sweet build! 👍
Love bobtail fenders. Wish harley still used em instead of cutoff bobber fenders
Looks absolutely amazing!
I now own this bike. Cool bike.
Looks awesome 👍
😍 I love this! Great job. Someone is gonna be very happy 😃.
Looks awesome man and I have my fingers crossed
It turned out really nice, good job. I think, i would of have painted that engine too if it was my bike.
Besides rear fender im a fan of the whole
That’s one SWEET looking bike.. 👍👍
thanks!
Great video series...keep 'em coming!
Great series, one very cool ride. Thanks for sharing. Cheers
Thanks 👍
Great looking bike guys love the old school of the lace flakes and 0i stripes totally awesome much respect guys
Damn cool bike came together so well .
All the best from New Zealand 🇳🇿
Test scooter is badass🤘🤟💯
Very rad!!!!!
Air shocks, I always wanted a hippitty hop!
SMILES FOR MILES
Very cool. Maybe a springer front end instead.
We almost changed our minds and put a springer on it mid way through.
1:23 Didn't think you could show that kind of thing on RUclips.... ;) 7:15 Finally had to resort to prayer.
:D
Have room next to my 96 inch glide.
I've been telling my buddies for years! Just buy a softail for a cheap chopper project instead of dumping money into a clapped out panhead. I love the old bikes, but if your wanna ride without having to wrench as much or have to rebuild a top end at 50k evo is the way to go!
Looks super clean man sick build
nice
Una pasada ,como siempre para mí ,eres la hostia, felicidades.
Totally channeling a Sporty 72 inspired paint design, absolutely gorgeous!
Hope you continue with the series, well done!
Great video
Thanks!
Great job!!! Awesome!! How much was the final budget on details?
Very cool
we called bike like this nerd glides in the 80s
I wasn’t a fan of the bike until I saw it rolling down the road
I like it! Enjoyed the video, the bike needed 16" ape chubbys? lol, that's just me!
I wish you guys had a store here in Missouri Springfield area would be a good spot it has bass pro shop even a small town called Clinton would be a good spot it’s in between Kansas City in Springfield
The steering limiter didnt come to fruition
Did you run one chain or two for the steering stop? Would be great to get a picture of that
That thing is sweet. Except them bars. It is crying for apes
Could we have the listing of all modifications, all ad parts (brand & models), all external shop contact you used and the total budget cost of this Softail?
Thanks
1:28 long live softails!!! What is the song playing at 1:24 into the video
Also how do those air shocks ride?
What is the length of those new handlebar risers? Thank you
Could we have the list and total price for these modifications?
Is it for sale?
yeah
Should've made it a hardtail with a springer or girder front end with ape hangers.
thats missing the entire point of a "Softail" platform...its to keep the look of a hardtail while keeping suspension.
That terrible decade of overpriced garage queens may be (thankfully) over, but the old school choppers and bobbers will never die.
Needs a sissy bar.
You lost me with the risers and tracker bars. And a Sportster tank? 14" apes, the new seat , frame and tins colors are the only cosmetic changes you should have done.
Enter to win it and you can put whatever tank and bars you want on it!
