Thank you Cassie for such a delightful and informative video on these powders. I only recently purchased the same 60 color set but to work w/alcohol inks to create diverse marbling affects besides just the gold I see out here. I'm quite new to it all, but quite playful and experimental, so know at least I've got that going for me, if not the experience yet but the delight in journey of play.

To get the paint to stick you can add a binder to the mix. Gum Arabic is a good binder. Then the paint doesn't rub off.

Gum Arabic does come in liquid and a power form. You could mix it with the powder form ad then spraying with water would work, but I think a spray fixative would just be easier and probably less messy. As long as you don't forget to do it.

Hey Gayle! I was literally just thinking about them today. . .no joke, so I had watched a video this morning about making my own paints, and from what I've gathered there isn't a specific amount. Start with a little and go from there. The gum arabic I saw them use was liquid already, so I'm not sure what you have. I'll see if I can do more research but that is the best I have as of now.

In small doses like spritzing it seems to be fine. If you wanted to watercolor with it, you would need some gum arabic. I hope that helps!

I read somewhere that someone said to mix some non aerosol hairspray in with the water as a cheaper fixative - have you tried that?

Puddytatpurr I haven’t, but that is a great idea!

Thanks for making this video, very helpful. Do you have rangers sticky embossing powder? I wonder how it would do with that without a fixative.

amybeth928 oooo, I don’t, but it would be worth a try. It worked great with the clear embossing powder 😊

@@cassietrask yea I just wonder if there's something different in the sticky embossing powder that would be like the resin that's in perfect pearls (but not in the mica) in terms of setting it you know?

      amybeth928 yeah, that’s a good question.

do you have to have a you tube channel for arteza to send you free products

Gina Badeaux honestly, I’m not sure, Gina. I imagine you would need some sort of platform to be able to share the products. Maybe you could reach out to them to find out.
