    Let me know what features you like from Vivaldi and also the ones you want to see changed. I think it will be a lot of fun to use this browser.

      The Vivaldi Notes and Reading View Mode are one of my favorite features. The original Vivaldi team comes from the old Opera Browser, which brings the same browser approach, as the primary tool on your PC. I'm using Vivaldi from day zero, on Linux, and from the beginning was pretty good on ubuntu. Nice video congrats

      That’s awesome. I want to make something more in-depth. Like a guide. Finish work in 1 week and then have time. Good work you guys.

      FWIW the reason I gave up using Vivaldi twice before is because of the RMB menu popup problem. That menu only becomes visible on the mouse-up event and not the mouse-down event like every other app I use. I'm trying to get used to it but right now I need to get some work done so I switched back to FF/TB because the RMB menu popup behavour is so weird.

    Love your channel. I came for the year software recap video and the more videos I watch the more I enjoy your point of view. Keep making content.

      Thanks dude. Appreciate that. I try my best to be honest and just produce what I think is good.

    How about starting on that 10 hour tutorial about every aspect of Vivaldi, especially mail, calendar and contacts and how they could be used with self-hosted services like Nextcloud etc. I tried it a year ago, because of the emerging mail component, but the resource and ram usage horrified me, so I went back to Firefox + Thunderbird. About to give Vivaldi another go, mostly thanks to this video and your enthusiasm.

      Thanks for the comment.
      A ultimate Vivaldi guide could be good idea. I may do that. Going to research the demand for it and add to my plans.
      I self host lot of stuff and certainly would like to see what i can do with Vivaldi and its support for self hosting setups like Nextcloud and other stuff i have.

    I have been using Vivaldi for years on my Windows machines. Love it!
    I didn't have any luck installing Vivaldi on the Steam Deck so gave up and used a different web browser instead. If you have instructions on how to install Vivaldi on the Steam Deck, that would be great! I'd like to keep everything in sync across all machines (e.g. bookmarks).

    • @RobertMizen

      Since the deck is Linux i do not see why it would be an issue. But i will attempt it on my deck and then post a video on it, referring to your comment if that is ok.

      I agree. It is a very solid browser and love the customization and treatment of Linux being a priority.

    I love Vivaldi, it's one of my 3 favorite browsers and the fact that they strive to make a good version of Linux is great; there are several people in linux or in the open source world who deny apps like Vivaldi, and say that because Linux or other similar OS do not have more users and it is because they are elitists who do not understand that one of the good things about Linux is freedom to use what you like and what seems best FOR YOU, and the fact that there are important apps that have good support in linux even if they are proprietary will attract people. I only have 2 problems, the first one is that I have the multimedia codecs and with Vivaldi I can't watch direct or other types of videos and I would like a flatpak version because then any distro can use it without any problem. Sorry for so much text xddd

    • @RobertMizen
      @RobertMizen  2 года назад

      No problem man. I am using the official repo for Manjaro. I have not had issues with playback but 100% agree. Im a fan of Flatpaks.
      I think they will, only seems logical. Some do not like software "like" Vivaldi and i get it. But first party support from dedicated companies is what helps push polished software. FOSS is awesome. But we need both to help get that first party support that Linux really really needs.

  • @lord-baltimore
    @lord-baltimore 2 года назад +1

    But sadly, it's not fully FOSS.

    • @RobertMizen
      @RobertMizen  2 года назад

      It doesn't need to be. It is free and its good, until it isn't. Linux can have anything and everything.

    Robert your review is appreciated. But unless you are a programmer of Linux you should not be criticising . By all means please use your fault finding and submit it to the Linux community. but development and programming is not easy. So please remember that take care Robert RT

      @RobertMizen  2 года назад

      Mmmm. Either you did not watch the video or I have no idea what your point is.
      I praised the development of Vivaldi. And for making a focus on Linux. Setting standards for what is possible on Linux when companies and developers care.
      Unless I’m missing something here.
