Man Peachy seems heaps happier. This is so much more entertaining than the stuff he did for GW. Good job mate!!
Definitely seems more of his true personality coming out. Love it. Keep it up!
Peachy Unplugged.
Peachy Unchained!
He seemed miserable and constrained to paint the 'Eavy Metal way, which I can't even stand to pronounce much less look at.
These Peachy painting guides are great. Informative but succinct and very well produced. Showing that the same few paints can be used on multiple parts of the miniature is great. It shows you don't need a hundred paints to get a good result. Keep up the good work guys 👍
Thanks Jon, it certainly helps in these budget tightening times. Glad you like the vid
After listening to the Vaults of Terra series, and waiting for Darktide, this is gonna come in real handy
I also just finished the Vaults of Terra and it definitely gets you in the mood for these models!
Great scheme and lovely guide as always! Glad to see Army Painter is sending you guys some love, too. Their wet palette and basing materials are fantastic. Excited to see more growth for you lads and quality content for us
Cheer bud, yeah Army Painter and AK Interactive have been very generous in passing on some tools and equipment. Can’t wait to see where the channel goes, wanna play some games too. Thanks as always for your support - Peachy
@@thepaintingphase uh oh. AK? Are we going to see some future Streaking Grime Grimdark? (Please say yes!
I really love how these came out! One of my friends bought the Veteran Guardsmen Kill Team a couple of weeks ago and I'm actually tempted to pick up the Kasrkin Kill Team when they come out as their own box as a result.
Keep up the awesome content, loving what you guys are doing.
My goodness we had none of this back in my day when I got into the hobby (1993) if you were lucky you had some decent painters in your local GW or you could pick up tips from White Dwarf. This is an incredibly helpful resource.
Playing Dark tide made me wanna paint my stormtroopers these colors, now this video has confirmed it, they look great
Oh yes ❤, also really enjoying the better audio from peachys mic
Gotta love Peachy's style of painting. Not many hobby channels out there that showcase a paint scheme that looks great AND seems (emphasis on the word 'seems') achievable for my skill level. Great guide as always mate! And get on you Pat with the mad camera skillz! That pull back through the bulkheads was brilliant! Very cinematic and makes me want to see some daft narrative shenanigans with you guys doing voices for the models!
And now my mind has gone to a scene with instead of Pat and Geoff chatting and painting, it's two minis (voiced by Pat and Geoff) and one mini, let's say its a Lord of Contagion, says to the other mini, let's say its a Warpsmith, "D'vok the Unmaker, what ye paintin'?" (Sounding a lot like Geoff). And D'vok responds in a voice that sounds a lot like Pat "I'm glad you asked, Poxflab. So this week I've got something a bit different. I'm painting a character model, Pat the Videographer. He comes with his own terrain piece which is just a big pile of shame permanently behind him. What about you?". Then Poxflab replies "Well sir, I shall take your character model and raise you a character model. I'm also painting something a bit different. Its not for me though. This is a model for my nurgling's Barbershop Quartet called the Short Back & Sides. This is the leader, Geoff. The kit comes with loads of little accessories like scissors, squirty bottles, combs, a wooden board wrapped in black leather to lay across the arms of the chair for little kids to sit on, and a little box of Yorkshire Tea which is a [HERESY] to paint!"
And I'll stop there, haha!
Keep up the fantastic work! Love you guys!
That was like reading a novel 😂 brilliant!
Agreed
Love the down to earth, relaxed approach. Taking the stress out of the experience! Let's get Zen.
I love how you show us to use as few paints as possible (i.e. using black legion thinned down as you would use a black wash)
Well we try not to assume everyone has a bezillion paints at home, so I’m glad you’ve seen the benefits of doing this. Cheers for the support 😍🙌😍
Love the classical music. Fits these tutorials so well. I was sticking my pinky out the entire time while watching the video.
Lol.
Man this is the only channel that actually shows the mistakes, and the tiding up! Yup love this channel
Peachy helped me through my first baby steps on GW when I first started painting, always gave the best tutorials. Glad to see him here and happy!
Aww cheers, glad to be back doing fun vids
Another great guide! This has shown me a better way to paint plasma guns with contrasts. I will be implementing some of these techniques when I paint my Kasrkin in Black armor with tan uniforms.
Hi Peachy. Another brilliantly done paint guide. I've got a wet palette, but I am a bit nervous about using it. But, you've given me the confidence to give it a go. Thanks again for being so enthusiastic and entertaining. Love watching the Painting Phase. Kind regards Ian 🖌️🖌️🖌️👍
I was also pretty nervous initially with my wet palette too Ian but you can't really mess it up, maybe just avoid using metallics on it while you get used to using on - that way even if you get paint on the sponge underneath you just have a multicoloured sponge! It won't impact how it works.
Definitely give it a go, made a huge difference for me and I love using mine.
@@TinBearStudios Thank you so much for your reply and information. I really appreciate it. I will give it a go and let you know how it goes. Thanks for taking the time to reply. Kind regards Ian 🖌️🖌️🖌️👍
Honestly I always used an old large base or the citadel palettes, since moving to the wet palettes my paints last longer, paint does t dry up on my brush and I have more control with the paint on said brush too.
I’m sure you’ll face the odd hiccup, but yep best hobby tool
Ah yes, the Emperor's Inquisition. Their two greatest weapons are Exterminatus and Fear and their unwavering devotion to the Emperor....damn!
Love this paint scheme red and black is always a great combination
Love the tutorial! Already planned on using these guys as Inquisitorial Stormtroopers since I first saw em', so this is perfect!
Whoop whoop! Glad to be of service Sizzle 🫡
Great video, you can really see Peachy's style and attitude come through in these videos.
The intro shot through the doors was the most beautiful mini shot I've ever seen! ❤❤
There's a lot of really great editing in this video especially, I loved it.
Go check out the The Kroot painting guide. That one has emergency lighting. Pat the videographer is awesome!
This colour scheme really took me back to the Daemon Hunters codex days!
🤘😍😍😍🤘
We might be reliving those days soon...
I have recenlty got right back into 40K with my imperial guard/astra militarum army, compriseing of back in the day and newer figures. Partly becuase of having come across my old figures that I've had in a toolbox/carry case, that I had partially forgot about. However, mainly becuase of not to long ago, I was discussing 40k with a barber of mine and it's just full on rekindled my passion for 40K. P.S. Thanks for the sticker that's now proudly adorning my PC case :)
Hi Liam! Nice to see you here. It took me a minute, I was thinking ‘there’s other 40K barbers out there?’
I saw your post on Reddit and was like "Wow those look amazing, probably took forever..."
Couple hours later I see this speedpaint tutorial, nice! Good job, definetly gonna paint my scions now as Inquisition dudes!
Superb tutorial, thank you. I’ve been wanting to do a scheme just like this for a long time but didn’t know what paints would work. I will give this a go for sure. Looking forward to a lot more 🍑 videos.
Also, get an affiliate link for Japan please
Thanks Nick, hope you have just as much fun painting them as I did - Peachy
Fantastic video. Great to see the mistakes being left in and not using hundreds of different paints!
Love these videos, and this is a great scheme too! Just wish I'd managed to get a copy of Shadowvaults!
Yeah honestly I expected it to be a main range thing, we here at the painting phase we’re all a bit baffled by its short release, but we spent money on it for videos so we weren’t not gonna use it lol.
Good thing is though those kill teams will come out separately anyway so it all balances out in the long run.
@@thepaintingphase totally agree, you guys have to put these out regardless. And the scheme is good for most guard troops so it's no loss. It's just a shame your viewership are going to be pretty unlikely to be able to get their hands on this box in the short term. Keep up the great work!
Was thinking of doing a red and black scheme for my Kill Team Navy Breachers, think I’m going to do this method, it looks sooo good
Yeah I reckon you can easily copy and paste this scheme across 😍👍
They look great!
Best painting guides ever. Love it !! Im waiting for SW Legion guides
Well we have two atm clones and Cassian Andor, more inbound
Brilliant vid. Peaches looks so well. Wish I knew how they filmed that backwards moving sequence at the opening!
Loving the content so far! Well done Peachy keep up the killer work!
Cheers Drunkenspud 🙌🙌🙌
@@thepaintingphase You're welcome dude!
Epic!
Thanks!
Really great Video. I've been humming and harring on what scheme to do, and I really like this.
I have a talking point that maybe peachy can answer in another chat video.
'what's games workshops deal with the excessive prices in Australia.' If he has any info, it would really shed a light for us down under, since the prices have been absolutely bananas since 2014 and its caused many a head scratch. keep the vids rolling gents. :)
Thanks for the kind words. I think GW Pricing Will probably be the subject of one of our chat shows, in the not too distant future.
Enjoyed the 2 part video with the basic and then more advanced progression. Thanks!
Thanks glad you liked it, plenty more to come
I am glad to see you have your own channel. The figure looks great and i learned a lot from this tutorial. Thanks for sharing this.
Thanks John, glad you like the vid and I’m pleased it helped. - Peachy
Love this colour scheme! Great video
😍😍😍 thanks
I’ve always loved watching you paint as a fellow lefty
Taschengelddieb! Those guys are great, I order everything from them if I can't find it in my LGS
Well. Wish this guide was out before I almost finished my batch of 30 inqusitorial stormtroopers... But atleast now I know how to get the same result faster next time^^
Can't get enough of these videos with Peachy. Learning a bunch and just a blast to watch!
With the upcoming Christmas battleforces, I really hope Peachy is doing some squigsssss. Pretty please ;)
Amazing video definitely gonna use these tips my other models.
Glad you like them.
I've always loved this color scheme. Great tutorial
..got a craving for custard creams now 😂
It literally prompted me to go to the kitchen and see if I had some and to my great surprise I did! Sat with a coffee and I'll pretend I stopped eating at half a pack...but between you and I, I didn't.
Same, once opened I usually demolish the pack
😋😋😋 yummy
@@thepaintingphase With those and Jaffa Cakes, there's no off button with me. They're basically Schrodinger's Biscuits - they exist in a state of being both unopened and demolished at the same time, but there's no in-between.
OMG, this was EXACTLY what I was looking for!
I was wanting to do an Umbrella Corp in 40k Guard Army, and this color scheme would be FANTASTIC for that! Only thing at that point I'd be missing would be the decals!
You can get decals custom printed :)
@@accountnamewithheld
I will do that, thank you ^^
Nice work. Love the paint scheme.
Cheers.
Man, this was a great video. Thanks mate!
You are most welcome 😍👍
When the Darktide squad all pick Veteran:
Brilliant as always, can’t wait to paint this scheme myself.
amazing videography guys keep it up ,+really nice and fast paintjobs
I am loving this scheme! I just got the Karskins and wanted to do something funky and unique. I think this it, thank you for the content.
Fantastic! Glad you liked the vid, and black and red look so good together
I have always loved your videos peachy even better now
😍🙏😍 Fanksssss!
Really love the sound, always love Peachy ❤
😘😘😘 - Peachy
This is actually an awesome colour scheme
I really admire how you've used contrast paints, but the end product looks as though you haven't. Stunning results!
Thanks! I’ve been finding you can get some incredible and yet speedy results with contrasts, especially with a pre highlight before the contrast goes on.
@@thepaintingphase
I didn't give them the attention they deserve when they first released.
You should try plaguebearer flesh followed by biel-tan green on pre highlitghed ork skin!
It's lifechanging!
Very cool scheme and Peach is in great shape 😂
These look incredible
you guys are awesome, hope you're all keeping well!
Thanks Mike, we’re doing great thanks. Much love 😍😍😍
Wow, Peachy unleash, a force to be reckoned with! Great video.
🤘🤘🤘
Awesome and fast. I hope you paint more orks soon !
Great job! I wasn’t familiar with that scheme, but I love it! I do have a non-painting quibble to point out for other Kill Team players: the sergeant was assembled with an illegal load-out. That model can have a power weapon and either a bolt pistol or hot-shot las pistol, or a plasma pistol and chainsword. I know you plan to use this team for various games, but nobody likes a feels-bad when fielding their new team. Thanks as always and keep up the great content!
Ah bugger! I just built him that way cos he looked cool, didn’t even think it would be an issue…..sorry everybody my bad 🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️
Yeah, that “no plasma + power weapon” trend is fairly recent, starting with the Intercession kill team. If we go all the way back to the Veteran Guard, that sergeant is allowed to pair plasma and power weapon.
Nice job grate paint scheme 👏
I'd absolutely love to see this on a vehicle? Or the new cadia stands box set to see how this scheme could transfer to bigger unit!
We've got some Votann vehicles were planning on painting, and a cadia box on order too! Looking forward to it
@@thepaintingphase can't wait to follow your guide on the cadian box!
Mind using magna orange contrast on the next imperial plasma’s you paint?
Only cos Orange is my favourite colour. :)
Thx this helps a lot
This scheme is so good.
"Cake or Death!?"
"Um cake please?"
"Very well. You shall have cake!"
Haha!
Damn they look good.
Aww thanks 😍😍😍
I heard "Inquisitorial Stormtroopers" and had to click. I don't care that Inquisitors are my vice, i will have an army of them.
Amazing video! Go peachy go!
😍😍😍
Already a regular customer at taschengelddieb and just updated my browser shortcut witch that affiliate link.
Love the scheme, thinking about painting one of my two Kasrkin units like that to match my inquisitor looking over the shoulder of my imperial officers
Aww thanks! Very much appreciated 🙌😍🙌 and I can only imagine the fear of those poor officers lol
It's interesting to me to see the difference in process between Peachy and Duncan.
Indeed it is.
Great video! Thanks
slight modifications and parts swap, this would make a great color scheme for the Bloodpact
It’s the friendliest of videos
😍😍😍 we love you Pat
I'm worried the news around this box won't let me get it, BECAUSE I REALLY WANT ALL OF IT PLEASE
I think this is the first GW box I've been fully sold on!
I do like the interesting methods used in this video though
Yes it’s seems to be sold out but it will only be a short wait till the teams are available separately.
@@thepaintingphase see the worst part about this is that I didn't want the contents separately: I actually wanted everything in the box! So now it seems I just have to deal with it!
@@MrSmashySmash All of that will come out in due time, I’d say. The gun turret has rules in the book, so they will have to release that sprue.
Nice humblebundle Music pack
I like this
Peachy using slapchop? What a world we live in!
Are you guys gonna be speed painting the Hierotek Circle soon? Really interested in how you'd paint those Necrons!
Sooner than you think.
FRACK YEAH !!!!
Man GW must have some rough time keeping painters if both Duncan and now Peach strikes out on their own. It's for the better though since now we can have great videos likes this and more amazing stuff to look forward to.
I'm lazy and just prime mine black and painted the clothes and details leaving the black prime for the armor lol
That works too!
We love you too, Peachy! I notice you don't go anywhere near the Citadel Whites these days...I wonder why... :D Kinda surprised that you went with a regular brush for the texture paint. I do find myself reaching for the Texture Tool thing. It works pretty well.
Hey Ebs, 😍👍 I still use the washes, the new ones I prefer far more than the old ones, and from a texture applying pov, I found the tool is okay but I have far more control and accuracy with an old battered brush, and it’s old and battered so I get extra life out of it. Win win in my book.
@@thepaintingphase Whites not Washes. The washes are king! All the best mate, have a good weekend!
Argh my bad, I read washes and I do t know why, but yes having access to other brand white paint is so very liberating.
The drybrushs are good. Dont like their normal pencils though. The paint isnt rly flowing down the pencil like it is with my davinci series 10.
We’ll see how they get on but you’re right the dry brushes are pretty decent.
Peachy is the best, there's just nothing else to say! 🤘
😍👍😍👍😍👍
ah, yes, a pre-chaos Blood Pact trooper! Honestly think I rather spend a weekend with some of them than a bunch of Inquisitor grunts because with the Blood Pact fellas at least you know what you're getting yourself into, with the inquisitor fellas you never know, it might be a fun weekend, or you might be tortured or worse because you didn't fill your quota of "God-Emperor" prayers one day 23 years ago.
Blood Pact for the Win!!! Blood for the blood god!
@@thepaintingphase superior military tactics and martial prowess to the superior military tactics and martial prowess throne!
That's why Khorne is the best, he has a whole nerdy book smart tactics side to him as well that everyone seems to forget :D
How would you apply this inquisition scheme for some Death Korps of Krieg? I've got the kill team and I'm intrigued to see how they would look as an inquisition task force.
Nice work! really enjoying the schemes, hey, do you superglue the tufts on, or rely on the sticky? Thx
I used to glue them, but the sticky is very good so I don’t bother with glue anymore. - peachy
You should do the new cadians in this inquisition theme
Love the scheme, may do it for my old metal Stormtroopers. What green would you recommend to use instead of the red for the visors?
Hmm, maybe Striking Scorpion or Karandras Green, they’ll be my go to paints
I would love to see more astra militarum in the same colous scheme
Peachy speed paints better than my best paint job...
Great battle ready kill team but I'd have liked to see another level (for such small squads I tend to put extra effort in).
That has to be the ropiest brush I've ever seen on a painting tutorial, Peachy (the free hand bit). I hope you get some new ones soon😂.
I'd love to afford the patreon tutorial but instead getting a tutorial I just wanna watch how insanely fast Peachy can paint in real time.
I'm on that tier and it's worth every penny! Definitely worth grabbing at some point when finances allow, even if you just do 1 cheeky session - it really helped me out.
Ha! Thanks Andy for the kind cheerleading, 😍👍
In other words Peachy you still scared to walk into Boots the Chemists and peruse their make-up brushes, in case someone recognises you and asks "Oh are these for you Sir?" to which you need to have a quick reply "No they are for the wife/GF but as I am in here thought I might pick up a set?" When painting models I prefer to leave the weapons off and paint them separate , that way no messy paint stains where they are not meant to be and less tidying up afterwards.
I experienced this, I don't know why as blokes we experience this but we do! I just ask my wife on occasion to grab some now 🤣
I just stride right in and buy them, with not a care in the world. Tbf, I’m normally in full drag at the time. Geoff
Darktide Guard vibes
This is such an amazing painting scheme, I think I’ll use this on my scion kill team and maybe my guardsmen (emperor bless my wallet). However I did have a question. Could I use contrast medium to thin down my contrasts to achieve the same look or is it preferable to use water instead?
Contrast medium/water, it's all good. We're just using water to show it's possible if people don't have medium etc
Late to the party, but would I still get a decently similar color from using Blood Angels Red instead of Flesh Tearers? I can't find Flesh Tearers anywhere but already have some blood angels red from a previous project.
First time ever seen someone use water in the contrast. I have only heard never do that! Do medium nothing else
Water is fine, contrast medium is contrast without pigment, and works nicely, but so does water up to a point, if you heavily thinned it down like 10 parts water to 1 part contrast I doubt it’ll do what you want it to. Except for working for GW and having to promote the products, I’ve been using water at home for years and zero issues
@@thepaintingphase haha thank you! I enyoy your channel alot!
You have my support here from little denmark :)
