- Nirvana’s cover of this Velvet Underground track from 1968’s White Light/White Heatwas more than twice as long as the original, appearing on the Velvets tribute album, Heaven and Hell Volume 1 and as a split single with the Melvins doing “Venus in Furs.” Though they tackle White Light‘ s quietest track, Nirvana’s version rises in action like the album’s noisiest, “Sister Ray” - a fitting tribute to the original architects of pop and feedback.

Had some requests about this, so here we go. Spent some time trying to get what Kurt plays in the solo part at the end, but had to improvise some parts. The rest should be fairly accurate. Hope you enjoy it!

Ive seen many comments on many videos of his about him giving tutorials and he always says he doesn’t think he will anytime soon, so my suggestion is too go into the description and look at the guitar tuning, slow the video down and look at what he is doing, most of cobains songs are wonderfully put together power cords and simplistic things, i hope this could of helped any of you all
The beauty of Nirvana (one of the many things of their songs character) is that they're not terribly difficult to learn yet so catchy. And this is a great way to start training your ear.

Interesting I was expecting a different song by the title. Oh I thought it was going to be here she comes again (my best friends girlfriend) lol. That was one of Kurt's fav songs to play and one of the first he learned on guitar but we know that. I never heard this song before it sounds great.

The amp settings are different from each cover and there are lots of different adjustments I do every time, so that is not something I plan to do.

You're the only one I trust on here besides nomakills (I think that's his name) when it comes to seeing how to play something properly if I'm having difficulty by ear.
Also, I found if you're playing a lot of Nirvana and need to go down from standard to half step or from drop d to drop (I dunno, c?) That the DigiTech Whammy V works great on the either 2 or 4 semitone down setting.
You should do some smashing pumpkins like cherub rock. It’s a fun song to play

When you learn how to play these songs are you looking at tabs, tutorials, or live videos of Kurt playing them? I find myself trying to find videos of live versions after I look at a tutorial to see if I'm playing it the way Kurt would.
Most of the time I just use my ear to figure them out, but I also use live videos and sometimes tabs. But most online tabs are bad, so that's the thing I tend to avoid.

Good cover but you missed playing the c5 chord on the ahh hah she looks bit, D,G,C,A#. Also just slide up from the 7th to the 12th for the riff,no need to go all up n down the fretboard. Not having a dig just offering a bit of constructive criticism 👍🤘
Many ppl believe he plays the c5, but that's not the case. Listen to the song and watch some live clips, and u will realize that too.
