- Drembo M6 Mixer | Is the Cheapest Mixer on Amazon Any Good? Stay till the End!
Well, we had high hopes for the Drembo M6 Mixer, which as our title claims is or was the cheapest audio mixer that we could find on amazon. What we were looking for was an audio mixer that had 2 or more XLR inputs that supplied phantom power, had USB connectivity so that we could plug into our computer as well as the ability to connect possibly to our camera directly. We the Drembo M6 Mixer seemed to fit the bill perfectly and at a great price, being that it was the cheapest one that we could find on Amazon! So we bought it. Make sure to watch the video until the end to see what our final thoughts were in regards to the Drembo M6 Mixer. This had only 3 reviews on Amazon but had 5 stars, so our hopes were high.

So just to throw this out there. I'm not sure if my mixer was defective or if there is just a power issue in general. But as much as I wanted to keep using this little mixer I ended up sending it back so that I could look for one that I don't have to remove drives to ensure that it's working properly. Just don't want to risk not getting the sound recorded. So, for now, I'm gonna hook up a USB mic to the computer until I can locate a better mixer.

The problem is USB can only deliver so much power per the spec. On Windows it detects an over power (could be my UEFI doing this) it will shut down the USB offender(s). This is why I don't like things that require USB power to function and most of these inexpensive mixers do. :( A nice 5v wall wart for power is all that would be needed to solve the issue.
I'm definitely interested in finding a mixer which powers separately from its compute connection. Have you found anything like that?
I play saxophone at home as an amateur. I want to give effects to the sound of the saxophone, this will work?
I could not find a specification for sample rate and bit rate (word length). Ideally, I would like these to be 48kHz and 24-bit, respectively.
Thank you so much for this tutorial
Most welcome 😊
Hello Cruisn Canada, Regarding the Drembo M6 Mixer, did you find something else better to replace? I bought the A4 4 Channels Audio Mixer and it was faulty so I also send it back. I don't know what to get it now! Appreciate your advice.
Powered USB hubs are your friend. If the USB hub has external power, the drain on your computer is lessened.
It does say that you can use USB or power adapter on the instructions sheet that how I run my power to it.
U will just have to use a cable to your line in on your PC 🖥
this mixer has how many canals in output? or how many channels are recognized by computer... Because I'm trying to find someone that has two channels for capture, like two mics in differents tracks.
But if I plug it into my wall power source, would I still get this issue? Or would the power be enough?
Another question: I'm looking for an audio board in order to record my voice using an XLR mic and put it into my FL Studio projects. Is this product good for my purpose? Or should I go for a Focusrite Solo? (I'm looking for something cheap, that's why I'm here)
Did you ever find your answer. It looks like it wasn't answered here. I would have done to solve the power issue plug the device into the wall for power and then using the other USB port to connect to the PC.
Got one. It worked, but the preamp levels were horrible. I had to set gains to 75% to hit original signal levels, and the signal quality was diminished (dull highs and mids). Looks great. But it doesn't matter how cheap something is and how many features and dials it had if it makes things worse :(
Very true. I ended up returning mine. Thanks for the comment. Great to hear from other actual users!
@@gregtoope I wanted to return, but the seller (eBAY) drop shipped from NJ, US. And when I wanted to return, he wanted me to ship it back to China. eBAY said this is against eBAY policy (I had to call) and they refunded my money without requiring a return. I'm glad I got my money back, obviously, but literally I will not even use this mixer. It just makes life worse, and the minimal gain in preamp provides no redeeming benefit.
I ended up getting a Seismic Audio Slider7-BT mixer. The preamp is a bit weak, but better. The signal is clean. My small Behringer USB mixer honestly has better sound and preamp than either, but the Seismic is satisfactory.
@@thumper300zx well im glad that you got your money back. I always try to buy stuff from Amazon that says 'From Amazon'. This way I deal with them for returns.
thanks for this. i was actually looking at this mixer but ill stay away now.
Can u use it to hook up a XLR mic?
Yeah
I just bought the same Drembo M6. I'm struggling to get it to actually record on my computer.
I have two questions
First how do you properly connect it so it records on a Mac or Ipad?
Second will it record multi tracks?
if your budget is the same and mostly use it for recording, buy audio interface, if you livestream, live gig or zoom etc buy mixer usb/hybrid for the eq and fx
Another device I did not know I needed. It's unfortunate you had to return it though. Hopefully just a bug in the device?
yeah, I'm hoping so too. But ill probably just get a different one. But if it would have worked (as many reviews have had no issues) it would have been a great mixer at such a really good price.
Never face a recording camera to a brightly lit window as the aperture goes small to f16 and does not pick up the inside detail that needs f5.6 or more.
After 5 months of infrequent use, the unit stopped powering on today (I'm using the included adapter). I strongly recommend that nobody purchases this item.
Thanks for the update. Mine went back just a couple days after I bought it.
It's a cool little unit but when I record to usb, the audio skips every now an then. I'm not sure why
Any one who knows how to fix the. Plz let me know
Thanks in advance
Great video bro
Early again!!
well done! Thanks for watching!
@@gregtoope I love your vids! 😄😄😄
@@lhatlife Thanks much appreciated.
Can I clean you office I’m really professional at renovating office and cleaning them
Thanks. But I'm good!
Price
Good
I have one but I don't know why when I set it up my microphone can't appear in FL studio20 asiso panel.
Can I get help from anyone please?
USB Power Y
Did you try this? I'm having the same issue and I think it's power supply related.
Felt to sleep
Is this about your room and other gear, or the actual unit/mixer ? 🙄
Oh man this dragged on and you didn't get a whole lot right about the actual mixer. Basically a waste of time. Know a little bit about what you are doing at least if you are reviewing something is a piece of advice i'll leave for you here. I'm not being negative it's just the truth. A Rick James four thumbs down from me.
whats there to review. the product didnt work. So heres a review. Dont buy it.
@@gregtoope -- three outs when there is onlyy one out for a start. The hard drives sucking juice is because they are all out of usb ports and no doubt some weren't actual working ports. I stand my ground.
@@gregtoope I actually own one and it's running fine for what it is.
Aussie B all the ports work perfectly fine. Brand new computer and the hard drives plugged into them have plenty of power to work. Tried multiple ports with same issue when connecting the mixer. Even tried different USB cables just in case the cable was faulty. If you watched the video, we unplugged everything else from the computer but still had issues. So the problem is the mixer. The mixer simply didn’t work properly.
he should knock off the personal touch mentioning the window light and stuff ... these people are not our friends. ffs
Talking about the importance of warranty when buying most crappy mixer on the planet.
Or just buy from a place that also has a good return policy.
@@gregtoope yes absolutely but i mean you almost know for sure something is going to break or be wrong with such dirt cheap mixers. Almost all of them are noisy due to bad and cheap wiring and poor ground-planes on the pcb designs to cut costs they make em as small as possible. I agree that a good return policy is important. But maybe it's just better not to order such things at all. They have a huge environmental footprint on earth, factories that produce that crap pollute like hell and their crappy products all end up as waste almost as soon as they leave the factory. Just buy something that you can use for years. It's just better in every aspect. Good products don't break often and are worth repairing.
very long video
Long Video, Little Information 🙁
talk too much..its a commercial.not really a guide start to finish connections.
You waste way too much time talking about random guff instead of focusing on the video topic. Not trying to be an asshole, just saying most people click on these videos cause they need to make a more informed decision and if you spent too much time talking about your cat, how you think amazon pricing works and other random unrelated topics, people will look elsewhere for a more concise second opinion.
I've had to skip ahead several times every time you've derailed and im only 4mins in. I see this vid is almost half an hour and im wondering just how much of this is you talking about random off topic things. If you want higher view counts and to prevent people from clicking off 5mins later for a better 'review', I'd suggest trimming off the excess fats and focus on the proteins so to speak.
I'm telling you this primarily cause most people won't. Either they're afraid of coming off as confrontational or whatever so they'll just keep quiet and leave you occasionally wondering if there's a better way to attract more views.
For this to be a tutorial you used the words I think and Maybe entirely too much. Also too much extra talking. You loss me midway of the video.
