Paul Harvey was a brilliant man
Agreed
I used to listen to him every day, a very patriotic man ❤
Definitely!
Yes he was and i miss him...
Stand by for news - loved listening to him with my dad
Nathan, you need to put a few buckets of gravel in front of Mr Katos shed. That way you can drive straight off and it won’t put all that weight on the edge of the slab. Just a thought
I was thinking the same thing.
Edit: Or maybe a hardwood wedge sill.
Morning, Nathan !! I was gonna say the same - you need a few yards of gravel at the entrance to your shed where you store your tractor. It'll give you a smoother ramp entrance !! Just a suggestion, my friend !!
I was actually thinking about 6 bags of quickrete to ramp it up
Craftsman tool was bought by Stanley Black and Decker
Didn’t know that
Why is it that my wife was never thrilled with new pots and pans... but I sure get a kick out of new tools!
Not only a nice piece of equipment, but you got a bunch of angle iron too.
true, thanks Craig
@@OutoftheWoods0623 Making a gas can storage area from mine
Glad to see you bought a true wood chipper!!! Not a wood hog or wood shedder!!!! Good move!!! Keep dirt n gravel out and blades last long while!! You can file them once between grinding with a mill bastards grade file! Kept one up for about 20 years 8-10 hrs a day!!!
Interesting that they push the wood into the cutters at an angle rather than straight on like most others.
More wise words from your guest speaker! Now that you have a chipper, you’ll be amazed at how many uses you find for the chips. 👍
So true!
That looks to be a very useful piece of equipment. Going to need a cat protection guard on that thing if its not in use lol.
My thoughts exactly
Your photography/direction is excellent.
I’ve watched him almost from the beginning of his channel he’s a perfectionist and has changed editing software as his skills progressed. Truly cares about putting out a great product that we can enjoy be entertained and also learn from
Excellent Paul Harvey selection. Wood chipper will pay for itself in wood chips, mulch, and compost. Now you have some angle iron for your welding projects. You could even forge a tempered knife blade. Al kinds of things to do. All you need is time and a pole barn.
Yes sir. You are 💯 right
I bought the WoodMaxx 8H a few years ago and it’s been great for chipping up sweetgum trees and brush. As you mentioned it does have its own hydraulic reservoir and pump but it’s still a pretty good machine. I spent $3200 on it but I was quoted $3600 by a guy with a forestry chipper to do the cleanup I wanted. 5 years later and I’m still using it.
The steel shipping container is worth a few bucks!
Yes sir
nice of them to give you some smithing practice materials as packaging too. you may need to get yourself an extra wide door to your storage to keep it under cover.
bigger barn is what I need , thanks for watching Trevor
No, Stanley/Black and Decker bought Craftsman and those are sold at Lowe's and Ace Hardware to name a few, FYI
Thank-you thank-you thank-you! I can’t tell you how many times I wanted to scream every time I watched you burning instead of giving it back to the earth from which it came. 🙏🏻
I live where it gets below zero. i always empty my 25 gallon sprayer tank. The first winter I didn't drain the pump and the weed killer froze and damaged the pump. After replacing the pump, i take the pump off and bring it into the house. No more problems with the pump.
We used to joke in Africa about why vehicles kept running out of fuel. It was because people got confused about the “e”and the “f” on the fuel gauge. They thought “e” stood for “enough” and “f” stood for “finish”.
Looks like your research paid off… looks like it’ll be fun to use too…
Thanks
Now you have a bunch of steel to practice forging
Now that you have your wood chipper, if your family likes mushrooms you can take some of the old wood chips and grow wine cap mushrooms or any mushroom that likes wood chips.
Nice chipper, joining the chipper revolution! And you win - it is bigger than Mike Morgan's new chipper.
Beast of a machine. By the way Bruno did very well with his awards yesterday; know you are proud.
I have watched your channel for two or three years and I think this is as good as it gets I hope you never forget that only in America is what you do is possible
You are a quite a character! Lots of interesting stuff for a homeowner like me who has NOT a single use for any of it. I live on a 5000sq ft lot in a small town in California in a 800 sq foot house. Your life is like a dream to me, but I love my life too. Thanks for the great content. Be well!
Ha great video and congrats on your new toy .... It was also delivered with some "free" mild steel angle iron for welding projects. We call it Blackberry Winter where I'm from. Awesome Paul Harvey commentary!
Love the Paul Harvey comments... How we so need him now.
Agreed 👍
Good video 👍 I love chipping. I don't think you'll regret buying your chipper, especially when you're clearing your new property
Hi there Nathan. Those RED knobs are actually SAFETY STOPS. They allow you to stop the machine in case of emergency, like Momma Cat riding a log into the 'in shute'. Have a nice day - regards from Australia.
Neat chipper. Without instruction manual I wld be lost. Kudos to Tony for problem solving. Can you chip up the small Bradford Pear trees on back pasture area across the new culvert?
Yes that’s the plan. Chip them all!!
Really enjoy all your videos. I fondly remember my little Norwood from over 20 years ago. I also like your random Paul Harvey voice-overs. Now in my 80's I remember him well and he always had some good wisdom.
Equipment shed? What you need is a landing pad!
Not one to usually comment. However the crystals are the herbicide. For lack of a better way of saying many water based herbicides are a form of a salt. Generally agitation will help them once again dissolve into the water. I run my hose back into my tank and circulate the mix if it's been sitting for a while. The filter screen should catch most except what formed in the line after that from sitting with chemical in the line.
Keep the Paul Harvey clips coming.
Love hearing Paul Harvey. I've started calling these cold spells the first, second, third, etc. false springs.
Love Paul Harvey quotes we need his wisdom now more than ever.
Nathan, really like the chipper. You are going to have to build a new pole barn just to keep ALL your toys in. Oh ya where the Heck is your HAT not a cap but a HAT. Don't fool with cancer.
I watch a mowing channel. He upgraded his equipment and spent almost 250,000 dollars. His pole barn was 110k, with cement and power.
Agreed, life is precious, don't mess with the big - C. Great video, once again !
Nathan - Stanley Black & Decker bought the Craftsman name in December 2021. Lowes sells Craftsman products. So do Ace Hardware and Menards.
When the delivery guy showed up with my Vermeer chipper, I chained it to the bucket of my JD1070 and lifted it up. The tractor then tipped forward, gently lowering the chipper back down onto the truck. I had to hang my 6' rotary mower off the back in order to lift and move the chipper to the ground.
Nice! Just in case no one said anything, don't put chipped up walnut in your garden. Look it up for more info!
Deer stand material with every order. Lol
no doubt!!
I’d like to get a chipper eventually. I need some chips for my chicken run
You have a beautiful property, I always enjoy your videos. Maybe if you put hot water in the weed sprayer tank it might dissolve the crystals?
Who left all those bloody rocks in the way 😀
Nathan, your channel was mentioned often at Joe's International Firewood Expo. Most people mentioned your habit of always measuring the butt end of a log and they all wondered where you get your saw blades from.
ha questions that will all be answered in time jb
Good one Nathan, thank you
I might try a couple of jugs of hot water in it and spraying it. Hot water will likely dissolve the xtals.
Stacking lumber by yourself is a slow process. Makes me thankful when I’ve got an extra helper.
That chipper is gonna serve you well Nathan! 🎊🎊🎊. It’s a beast! Non video related question. Bradford Pear, any good to burn? I just took one down today! Thank you good sir!
That Paul Harvey quote was fantastic, thanks for sharing it!
You bet!
Great video Nathan. I just love that wood chipper. It works so good. That field you mowed does look awesome!👍❤️
Thanks 👍
Woodchip, ash, chook shit, grass clippings, and charcoal mixed in the right proportions would make great compost. Mix in some soil - great potting mix / growing medium!
SUPERgreat! Woodchips is fantastic for all kinds of stuff in the garden and aroudn the house. You are gonna love it!
That's the plan!
Wood chips -- the greatest thing for raising roaches plus it's feed for termites and a fine home for snakes. That's the advantage we've had from using chips as mulch. Your mileage may vary.
Thanks for sharing. I enjoyed it greatly.
A potential timesaver, any thoughts of putting your grass down to wild flower meadows? You just cut them once a year.
never considered it
Local bees would like that idea too.
@@OutoftheWoods0623please do. Less work for you and food for bees 🐝
Thanks for sharing with us Nathan, really a good looking and working chipper you bought. Looks like you're off to a good start with it. Have fun and stay safe with it. Fred.
Thanks 👍
Nathan, I saw Tonys review when he posted it and thought this was a good machine for the cost, I like the tractor powered feeder and how beefy it is built. Would like to see more of it!
Next video 👍👍
I love my chipper, we ran it today and the guys helping said they would take the chips it if my neighbor didn't.. Mine can do 8 inch wide boards no problem . You are going to love that machine just watch for rocks dirt and metal if the boards are real dry I found that it helped to wet them a few hours before (helps to lubricate) Have fun wear eye and ear protection and for you a hat too! Congrats on your new machine! John
It's frightening how Paul Harvey knew the future with the complete lack of any kind of work ethic most of the newer generation has no idea about,
Thank you for being a beacon of hard work Nathan
Tony
Great investment. You can utilize the waste from Saw Mill around your place. Keep weeds from growing Lot better than burning. Mulch is always in demand and maybe use some on community projects.
With that new chipper I can see you having a pile of material to chip right beside where you need to spread the chips and only having to carry the logs and branches right where you need the chips.
You are a very smart man. Remembering to run your new chipper right at your compost pile where you take your saw dust from the sawmill!!!!
Philosophy of Paul Harvey is excellent. Thank you!
Yes 👍
Did you check out the Woodland Mills chippers? I have the WC68 and love it!
I’ve gone to a local sawmill more than once a got a load of chips and used them for trails and walkways and areas to pave muddy areas and bare ground. And it will last years. That’s a great chipper Nathan! When will you create The OTW pitch and putt golf course? With that mower doing such a great job, well there ya go. Think of the huge amount of time the mower and chipper saves! Thanks Kindly and Many Blessings! DaveyJO in Pennsylvania
Time and money well spent, thanks.
You need to shorten the top link on that chipper by a couple of inches or more so the far end of the chipper isn't so close to the ground when it is being moved around.
Loved the shot of the chips going right at the camera!
It looks like you got some good crate material as in angle Iron to use to.
Brilliant quote. Nice unit. Cheers
Nathan, there’s never a dull time when watching your videos 👍😮😊❤
Yeah, you have a lot of equipment outside in the elements. Build or have built a big shead/barn for all that cool stuff you have. Keep the videos coming!
Thanks for the tips!
Welcome Mr Chippy !!!!
Preach it Brother Paul.
That's a very nice chipper. Thanks for the video. I really love your channel.
Thank you very much!
I have a 2022 CF Moto 400S that had 4.6 miles on it when I picked it up, it has 2798.5 on it now. I use it a lot to round up horses and cattle.
time to start making your own bio-diesel!
Your friend and a gent i watch as well as you ,he uses the chips for his chicken ,he said they love to dig amongst it.He is Mike Morgan.
Paul Harvey, the GOAT !
Yes Nathan a equipment shed sounds like a plan should be able to find some lumber nearby 😂
Hyd E-stops on the feed rolls!! Nice!!
Oh yeah!
Love the chipper Nathan! Wise choice. Now put that rascal to use!
I really do like the addition of the Paul Harvey clips. I miss listening to him at lunchtime!
sounded like it coughed up a furball. has mama cat been teaching it bad habits?
As long as I've watched you make burn piles, it's nice to see you turn scrap into something other than ash! Since you also garden, those chips will be very useful.....careful though, not all wood is good for gardening. Pretty sure you already know this, hopefully you will mention this for other listeners!😂
One thing that comes to mind.
Is if you have machines with different hydraulic fluid types.
Say you have a modern tractor and one old tractor.
One uses a synthetic fluid of some sort.
And the old tractor uses generic iso 32 fluid.
You would be mixing fluids between the two tractors over time.
As well as say someone in the community used it, or say there was an emergency and it was put on a tractor you have no idea what type of fluid is in it.
Or dare i say water contaminated fluid.
.
Just some concerns about it, that come to mind.
0.01c
Man you like your machines and equipment
Hi Nathan . Nice chipper . Mulch is more use full than ashes . You are right . Seeya
A dunderhead moment is a way to perfection from the learning you gained.
Great video as usual
Thanks again!
Nathan you have a good life 👍
Thanks for sharing.
You bet
It must be real nice to be able to keep getting new tools like that. Keep going I love it
it is nice but takes an unreal amount of hours to earn the money to buy them, I never get a vacation or a day off seems, thanks for watching
@@OutoftheWoods0623 Unfortunately you can never complain about self inflicted injuries! That's what being self employed is!! I doubt you will change that!
That's a terrific addition to the sawmill.
Now you know the rest of the story. And now for page two.
yep i got my table drill from Nor-tool...i go to HF quite often..i got that small like chrome toolbox for the truck..some Solar panels..cutting blades,, my store dont handle DeWalt,,i want to get a 20 volt jig saw..i got everything else..i like to stick with one brand,,Bats are not cheap..i got both a 12 volt and 20 volt 6 inch hand saws,,they are out of this world good..i use the big bats on them..Looks like you got a deal,,buying that chipper..ok Nathan,,as you were..wear glasses please..
I grew up listening to Paul Harvey. Seeing you share it reminds me of a different, better time.
Me2
More than just bees, it would turbo boost wildlife and save our host a couple of days a week and thousands of dollars of diesel a year.
