Nice demo. We got the move 4k bundle with 20x zoom for my church and installed a few weeks ago. Just a few notes on you video. 1. SDI does not support the full 4k resolution transmission 2. Looks like you are running an older firmware. When you upgrade it, they now give more controls for Auto tracking that also include I think 3 levels of how tight you want the image. 3. Setting auto tracking to a custom button on the control board is awesome! We set it to the joystick button and is able to trigger any active camera on and off. Thanks always for all the content.
Yes, the latest firmware can realize the automatic tracking function and automatically zoom to the appropriate position to keep the character in the picture at all times.
Agree. Not sharp. Herky- jerky camera movement as well. You would think that by 2024 these companies with it figured out how to deliver smooth pan/tilt that rivals a human operator.
My RUclips video started off in a 720p streaming but when I moved the RUclips video quality to 4k the all the images. became super crisp to where the 1080p is not a bad option.
Currently, the largest sensor that PTZ optics has is a 1/1.8 inch Sony CMOS sensor used in the 20x and 30x zoom versions of the Move 4k. I've been using the 30x at about 50ft with some fantastic color reproduction for the price, but the autofocus struggles. My team builds positional presets every week and normally has to manually adjust the focus for each preset. PTZoptics has a focus calibration tool, but I haven't used it yet. Definitely going to try it as the 30x is a major improvement over the previous generation cameras. Freaking love this thing!
Interesting! My brother just shared that his church got some kind of PTZ setup recently. My worship director has been wanting to move to a PTZ setup in some capacity too. Noted!
The image quality is getting there for a PTZ, but not quite there for my taste. I wonder if the image could have been improved with a bit more light on the stage. For a camera with such a small sensor, it needs light to look normal.
We have a very similar camera at our church, but it does not have the auto tracking. I made some mm-wave radar stations with esp-32 and forward that data to a sever that can point the camera at a target. It works well enough
I’m using this camera in our small chapel for a weekly stream. I’m happy with the image over NDI. I would love to use the auto tracking but the framing isn’t there yet. For now I’m using presets and companion on a stream deck to control.
I have an older ptz optics camera and it is OK, I wish the movement was smoother and the image looked decent, but was hard to get set just right. In the past I worked for Huskervision, and used high quality cannon ptz and the movement was so smooth and responsive when on the joystick, you could follow someone and not even realize it was remote. Also the simultaneous pan tilt and zoom for preset transitions is huge. I really like the Panasonic offering for PTZ and would love to see how their auto track works
As one that freelances on streaming over churches and venues am pleased to finally see true side by side comparision. Mostly doing speaking heads and traditional services and SE seems to bee good enough for those occasions. Just wondering how they’d cope on dim lutheran chirch where addiotinal lightning is not preferred.
Love this video. How did you go about editing this live? I’m assuming you’re using OBS and pulling the NDI feeds from the cameras and also your computer desktop.
PTZ optics should look into bracelets which you can give to your talent on stage. Then you can tell the camera on who to frame for. But yeah, image quality still looks like a webcam.
Nice demo! Do the cameras have any issues when you have a full room and more motion all around? It seems to be ok when there is only one person in the room. I wonder how it will do when you have multiple people moving around.
If you look at the picture when you move the auto focus goes out. Also the Movement of the PTZ is not good. I have this on our PTZs at our church. Manual Camera following makes a much better look.
I don’t understand why PTZ Optics doesn’t up their image quality. The image is just too soft. Even with good lighting. The Canon CN PTZ cameras look just so much better. Granted the price is almost double.
Hey, I'm a part of a small church in Japan and we have a bilingual service with a speaker and a translator. How does the camera handle two subjects? Can it track both and keep the frame even around two people? Or would I just need to have it track one person and reframe it so that the other person remains in frame?
Good, now if only we could get the auto track feature as well as really good video quality we'd be in business. We have the Canon CR-N500 and to be honest I'm disappointed with the image. The PTZ optics has a lot of softening on the image almost like I want to spray glass cleaner on the lens, but I know it's the small sensor. Good video though and helpful to know about it so thanks for doing it.
@@thomaslambrightthat’s a good question, I‘d second it… the N500 should have decent image quality from my experience. I have only good things to say about the image quality on the N500. It’s comparable to other broadcast PTZs like Panasonic’s UE150’s. Granted it probably won’t compete with a Fujinon zoom on a broadcast body, but for a PTZ the N500 is decent for our use. Autotracking used to be awful though, and then appears to have greatly improved in the July 2024 firmware.
Also, the UI interface is very buggy in the case of PTZ optics. We bought the PTZ Optics Move 4K. I don't like the quality of the video, the auto-tracking (lack of portrait mode) and the web UI control interface.
How much PTZ paid that you are promoting such a bad image quality??? No one of pro level use PTZ first of all because of poor quality. It’s unbearable to see how a good start was exchanged for money. this is no longer churchfront, but churchback
He is providing information on good gear that could be a solid investment for smaller churches that don’t have the people or the budget to use this professional gear that huge churches have. Slow down on your prejudice comments before considering who this information could actually help.

Yes, the latest firmware does have Dynamic Zoom which give you the ability to zoom in during the auto-tracking.
Yes, the latest firmware can realize the automatic tracking function and automatically zoom to the appropriate position to keep the character in the picture at all times.
I am disappointed with the image quality of both cameras. And the autofocus. I had considered purchasing it but now I'm no longer interested.
agree

Do you have more information on this setup? Is it all DIY? I love ESP32s
Hi Jake! While autotracking is enabled, you can still adjust tilt manually to fine-tune head room. However, pan and zoom are locked.
Good to know

Read the pinned comment. There is a firmware update

The OBS tail air is pretty good in movement and focus. The only downside is that it doesn´t have optical zoom

I’m using Ecamm live to capture, cut, and record.

Need to upgrade the lights in the Church too Dark !
It looks like the autofocus abilities of the camera in tracking mode is sub-par. This helped me go in a different direction.

Goog question

We got this camera about a month ago. However, the gears are already messed up after a few weeks.
Can the PTZ browser interface presets be triggered with the Elgato Stream Deck?

focus seems to be going in and out when you are standing in the same location

Try smtav or avkans
The new July 2024 firmware for the N500 has better autotracking. Worth a try before you replace.
You don't like the video of the crn500? I thought that camera would have significantly better video than the PTZ optics move 4K.

Is it just me or is the motion cadence during the pans just....weird? Or is that from capturing on your computer?
Are you referring to the jello effect? That happens with rolling shutters when they move fast left and right
whats the range for auto tracking?
Good tool, but the quality is not the best. Looks like 720p res
Tacking capability is cool though
Blur cam?
Yeah... but we need a closer view, like a portrait mode. But the AI auto tracking captures the whole body.

i like that too....how much is it???
I believe the Move SE is around $1000.00 US and the Move 4k is around $2000.00 US
it seems cool.. but the picture quality doesn't seem great
I have 4 Canon PTZ cameras and Canon wants $800 each for auto tracking. Should be $99 each camera. Should I keep or sell my Canon gear? Hmmmm.
there is a free upgrade now.
@@jakehaulotte4083 thanks. I have tried it. It’s a “lite” version of the $800 upgrade. Full version still $800 per camera. :-(
it looked a bit blurred to be honest
Hall Jessica Robinson Timothy Hernandez Sarah
image quality not that good....
the reds need to be toned down a lot
NDI is not available in UK for PTZ, such a big turn off.
