- A better look at the new Deviant for Zinogre, the Gold Thunder Prince! He's a fabulous monster that hits really hard no matter how maxed out your sets might be. The set I used in this video was Razor Sharp, Bubbles, Desperation, Divine Protection, Thunder Resistance L.

It's the screaming goat, he uses it to exclaim excitement or cowardice in certain situations (i.e. if he's narrowly diving away from a Raging Bracchy's explosion or Teostra Super Nova). It's actually pretty funny to me. it's usually not expected.

This monster looks like an absolute annoyance to fight, and already I find Zinogre annoying in 4U. As a lance and HH main, do you have any recommendations for playstyles and styles for those two weapons against this deviant? While I do plan on avoiding it as much as possible, I know it's going to be inevitable...
ok, suggestion: get guard up because that's your strong suit when fighting anything guard what's safe mega dash juice will help a lot as well and side stepping and not lunging too much will be very useful. in terms of HH, I really can't give any

hey I love your channel. I have a question about bows. If I have charge up skill and a power shot bow charging the bow to the third flash, shooting and then using the power shot turns the shot into a lvl 4 charge shot or is it just another lvl 3 shot? if you could answer for the bow tutorial would really appreciate it.

I always loved fighting Zinogre, since a lot of his moves hit like a truck, but were well telegraphed, making them easy to dodge if observant enough. This guy, however, promises to be even more of a fun challenge. Can't wait for Monster Hunter Generations!
Hey, I noticed that Gaijin bushido-evades right as the Zinogre gets up after being knocked over. Is there some sort of attack he does as he gets up or something? Anyhow, this guy looks tough to fight. But Zinogre in general looks okay for practising the Bushido style, even if Narga is probably the best one to practise Bushido on. A shame I've not been playing MHX recently, I've yet to fight a Zinogre in that game.
I've been wondering Gaijin, does the Felvine effect of Felvine bombs count as a status for Desperation's Buff; seeing how Bubbles does, it seems like it would, but clarification is always nice.

@3:47 gold ziggy's growl looked so authentic. Its almost as if he fights in the gameplay like how monsters fight each other in the cutscenes. I cant wait to play this game, I've heard rumors that they've improved the monsters A.I so that the don't dart across the map because you learned to just move once the monster locks on to that direction. I hope so too , making these monsters more aggressive and smarter honestly makes them more realistic.
If this is a poor display of Adept Style usage I can give up on it right now. I don't think I'll be able to do better than this no matter how hard I try. Well, guess I'll go for aerial, haha.

+Vektor480 DB's are a bit broken with Aerial, especially given how easy they are to play. SA is pretty good. I've seen mixed reviews on the LBG/HBG, LS, & GS. And personally, I like Lance and CB.
+Arhen Dante I thought many people say that Aerial SA is broken in Generations.
Jordan William It's good for mounting, and seems rather strong, but the DB's win the award for most broken weapon to use with Aerial, especially using Ravenous Wolf with it. Also, that's a cute pic of Chrono and Tokoha.

You said "level 10" Zinogre...is that the new form for GQ? How is his armor?
You said you're wearing a maxed out deviant hermitaur armor, if i got htat right; do you mean leveled to the max with armor sphere? What's the level cap for pieces of armor in MHX? And in MH4U?

I don't think you can do that spin slash in demon mode(in 4U), but you can do it in arch demon mode with x+a if you don't have demon mode activated.

I just got into Monster Hunter, and MHgen is my first playthrough. Every time I see one of these super strong monsters online for the game I get a little scared thinking "oh god, I have to fight THAT?!"
I noticed that you dont have felynes. Does the game allow you to still use them?
Just wondering, does Evasion+ help when timing the adept/bushido evades? Anyways, great showcase video, looking forward to fighting him.
Bushido evades are preformed when you dodge SLIGHTLY before the hitbox recognises it so evasion skills are horrible for bushido
I saw when you dodge, the weapon change sharpness from blue to white. Is that armor skill?
+Bhakti Endratama Must have been the absolute evade(battle) hunter art, you do an adept evade and also get some sharpness restored by using it.
How did you use the Adept move when he was not attacking, like when he was just getting up?

I don't know why Capcom thinks these super strong monsters need a separate theme.
In MH4U, Apex monsters had one theme despite the fact that Rajang, Jho, Zinogre, Tigrex and Seregios all had their own, cool, fitting themes.
Now in this game, we have Deviants that all share a theme when three of them have their own cool themes.
I wish the monsters that had their own themes played those, and monsters that didn't have a theme like Dreadqueen Rathian or the One-Eyed Garuga got this new Deviant theme.
What was he doing at 6:31? it almost looked like an electronic version of the blast aoe that teostra does in mh4u or am I just nuts :p
It's the attack that Goldlight Zibogre will use when it exits the Awakened State without being interrupted. You can force it to exit Awakened State early by dealing enough damage to it.

So, how the heck do you do that spinning attack straight off in Demon mode without having to do an A attack first? I thought you could only do that in aerial style due to the devil's dance being removed. Is it something you can only do in Bushido? Either way, I've been trying to figure it out, but nothing seems to work. I also see a lot of speedrunners do this as well when they are using Bushido.
Absolute Evade Hunter Art
Michi / Cree You didn't even read the comment. Either that, or you have no idea what I'm talking about. I'm talking about when he first goes into demon mode, he does a forward spinning attack (NOT AN EVADE) without having to be in Archdemon mode or having to do an A input. You can do this in Aerial style by pressing X+A (since there's no devil dance), but I don't know how to do it in Adept style since X+A does a devil dance. Next time, why don't you try actually reading and understanding my comment?

Michi / Cree Well I'm sorry about my passive aggression, I've been pretty salty about something lately. Just as much as I've been salty about not knowing how to do this move. Because it obviously wasn't in 4U, so when I saw Gaijin do it without pointing it out or explaining how to do it I got pretty pissy (because I saw like 20 different speedruns where the DB user did the exact same thing).
+YellowLine Yeah, it's like that one awesome thing that for some odd reason none of the guys that know how to do it is explaining. And I want to use DB more in MHGen so I searched around myself as well. I didn't find any info on it. Like no one is aware they're even performing it.

I have a few questions.
1) You seem to be doing some Adept evasion although there were no visible attacks to evade through. You are even far away from the Zinogre at times, and also when the Zinogre was getting up after it was tripped. Examples are at 2:05, 2:34, 3:09, 4:16, 5:19 and 5:47. Why does this happen?
2) Why did your DB glitters and goes "Kashing!" after that evade at 5:47 and 7:16? It is almost the same as Steve's weapon in MH4U, which regains sharpness after an evade.
3) Does the AOE lightning just before it roars at 6:29 hurt if you don't evade? It doesn't even look like it have any signal just before the attack, it looks almost instant.
4) Which brings me to my last question. Is that Glavenus' DB? If it is, does all its weapon come with blast?

I can answer questions one and two. There's two general hunter art (None weapon specific.) called Absolute Evade and Absolute Evade Battle. They are perfect evades that also restore some of your sharpness. (The kashing noise.) The difference between the two evades is one sheathes your weapon, the other, the one used in this video, does not.
Those dodges are hunter artes, absolute evade, and I'm pretty sure they sharpen your weapons when used.

The full sets were not that bad, considering there defense value was high, also gen and gen ultimate had transmog similar to layer armor.

I've been with the series only from 3U but the Zinogre has remained my favourite monster. I mean, he's the only one who somehow never pissed me off whilst providing a fun challenge, and they just made him even more badass.

I doubt you'll even see this, but are there still weapons that require awakening in Cross? I HATED that system in 4U, I feel like it adds nothing to the game(hell, it takes something AWAY). Here's hoping they scrapped that and just made the elements more balanced.

+Daniel Wild Well there isn't a G-rank in this game, but the variant weapons can get to rare 10 i think... i could be wrong... and yes, generations is just a localization because if they add the g-rank the game will be far too heavy for the 3ds.

What do the bubbles around you mean? Can you not get a blight on you or something?
It's a new skill that, after three dodges, gives you bubbles. This skill is called Bubbly Dance, the bubbles from this skill are special in that they give you Evasion +1 and Constitution +1.

Yea he explained it. This is also why stonefist is such a great set. It has crisis so when you get a status ailment you get Attack Up L. Bubbles counts as a status ailment so you get Evasion+1,Constitution+1, and Attack Up L after 3 evades

I never noticed any differences in terms of fps between the 2 games on my new 3DS LL. I played both games on release so I don't think they did anything in between.
I know this is off topic, but this feels like the channel to post a comment like this.
One thing I noticed a lot in 3rd generation is a very high frequency of monsters that relinquish some sort of advantage to the hunters of certain parts get broken. Qurupeco, Uragaan, Barioth, Agnaktor, Duramboros, Gobul, Barroth, Wroggi. It is something I noticed just thinking about each generation and their representation in MHX. It doesn't feel like that mechanic is as prevalent in MH as it should be imo. Of course, it can make some monsters a little too easy, like Barioth.
+Garrett Seno I think they ditched it because of the mounting mechanic they introduced. If you think about it, breaking parts for advantages in 3rd gen was basically like the mounting advantage we get now, except mounting is easier to pull off and more predictable.
I'm happy with the trade. There's still a reason to break parts; you need those drops after all.

Has high stun value. Of course he does, the harder you get hit the kore likely yoh are to be stunned. And lightting blight increases the power of you getting stunned.

Goldthunder Zinogre is the next on the chopping block of deviants. Once I can max out Snowbaron's Switch Axe I can face this monster. I thankfully have the armor to face it with because of Max Deadeye Armor with the Negate Stun in the Deadeye Soul and the Dynaqlo armor for the possibility to jewel Halve Stun to Negate Stun. Not to mention they both have positive Thunder Resistance and good Defense. Granted I need to make sure my cats have True Health Horn on the ready.
Adept style will save you alot of trouble from Thunderlord's attack and is pretty much the only way to not get stunned and One Shot by him. I hope he isn't too much of a pain Solo as he was with others when I was still in HR 7.
